KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) National Assembly member Rana Ansar’s son died in a traffic accident.

The police officials, a traffic accident took place near Clifton underpass in the posh area of ​​Karachi. Shahzeb, who was riding in the car, died of head injuries in the accident.

According to the police, Shahzeb was driving the car at the time of the accident, the car hit the footpath which caused the accident. The Shahzeb’s friend Muhammad Ilyas was injured in the accident.

Police officials said that Shahzeb’s family has refused to take legal action and after legal formalities  Shahzeb’s body has been handed over to the heirs.

MQM-P gets chairmanship for four NA standing committees

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) got the chairmanship of four standing committees in the National Assembly.

According to the National Assembly Secretariat, Dr Farooq Sattar became the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Privatization and Amin ul Haq became the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Information Technology (IT) .

The Secretariat said that Javed Hanif will be the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Commerce and Hafizuddin Awan Advocate will lead the Standing Committee on Industries and Production.

Meanwhile, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) managed to get the chairpersonship of five of them. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) got the chairmanship of one committee each.

KARACHI: A delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) on Wednesday met with President Asif Zardari.

The MQM delegation assured President Asif Zardari of full cooperation in future.

On the other hand, President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari presiding over a special law & order meeting at CM House directed the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to launch a large-scale operation against street criminals in Karachi, dacoits in the Katcha area, and drug traffickers throughout the province in close coordination with other provinces.

“I have zero tolerance for the illegal occupation of lands, and it must be stopped once and for all,” he firmly stated to the chief minister.

He urged the chief minister to provide a posting tenure to police officers, monitor their performance, and remove them when they fail to deliver.

Furthermore, Mr. Zardari instructed the chief minister to ensure that foreign nationals living and working in Sindh are provided with foolproof security.

LAHORE: The delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan also met Pakistan Muslim League–Quaid (PML-Q) Chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain after meeting PML-N leaders in Lahore.

During the meeting of MQM and PML-Q-League leaders, government formation issues were discussed at the center. The MQM delegation included Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, Farooq Sattar, and Mustafa Kamal.

Child injured in political parties clash dies in JPMC

KARACHI: A child who was injured during a clash between two political parties in New Karachi a couple of days ago died at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).

The hospital administration, 11-year-old Abdul Rehman, who was injured in the firing, was undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the JPMC.

The hospital administration said that the condition of the injured child was critical for two days and he died today.

On the other hand, no arrest has been made so far in the incident of clash between two political parties in New Karachi Sector 11 J.

The case was registered in the complaint of Muhammad Shahid, in which 5 to 6 alleged political workers are named while 5 to 6 unknown persons are also included.

The police said that raids were conducted at different places to arrest the accused, but the workers of both the political parties named in the cases are still absconding.

KARACHI: Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar talking to the MQM-P delegation led by Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that he would never allow injustice in the urban areas of the province in terms of development, employment and importance.

“Karachi is my city and other urban areas of the province such as Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur and Larkana would be looked after properly”, he assured the delegation.

The MQM-P delegation comprised Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Dr. Farooq Sattar, and Mustafa Kamal. They called on him here at CM and discussed the overall situation, including general elections.

Dr. Khalid Maqbool told Justice (rtd) Maqbool Baqar that they had expressed satisfaction and support when his name was recommended for caretaker chief minister. The CM thanked them and said he would serve everyone irrespective of any consideration.

The delegation raised the issue of urban areas for which he assured them his personal attention to resolve the issue of the urban areas. The CM added that the main job of his government was to support the Election Commission of Pakistan(ECP) in holding free, fair, and transparent elections.

The MQM delegation took up the issue of increasing street crime in the city. The CM said that he has directed the city police to control the street crime by enhancing patrolling, vigilance, and starting operations against the street criminals and drug mafia.

Justice Baqar said that a major reshuffle has been made in the administration, including the police. ‘I am sure the new administration would make a difference,” he said.

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) senior leader Kunwar Naveed Jameel passed away after a prolonged illness.

According to Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan spokesperson, MQM leader Kunwar Naveed Jameel passed away. Kunwar Naveed Jameel was under treatment in a private hospital for several months due to a brain hemorrhage. But he was again admitted to a private hospital on Stadium Road.

Kunwar Naveed was undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit(ICU) of the hospital.

Kunwar Naveed Jameel Born on March 15 1964 . He did LLB from Jinnah Law College Hyderabad and BSc from Government Degree College.

Kunwar Naveed Jameel was elected as Hyderabad district administrator in 2005, Member of the National Assembly in 1990 and 2013.
Kunwar Naveed Jameel was elected Member of Sindh Assembly in 2002 in 2018.

MQM Pakistan leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, while addressing the meeting held at Bagh e Jinnah regarding the MQM Foundation Day. He said that March is the continuation of bright and eternal history. He said that those who had planned to create Pakistan had to promise to save Pakistan on March 18.

SHC rejects MQM-P plea to hold LG elections

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) rejected the Muttahida Qaumi Movement(MQM-P) petition to hold the local government elections in Karachi and Hyderabad.

Regarding the incomplete quorum of the Election Commission of Pakistan(ECP) and the legal status of the actions, the court said that the decision will be taken after hearing the detailed arguments on the plea related to the quorum of the ECP.

Advocate General Sindh Hasan Akbar, MQM lawyer Tariq Mansoor appeared in the court in the hearing of MQM’s stay-order petition related to stopping the local government elections till the final decision.

Advocate MQM argued that the incomplete Election Commission had issued the notification of local government elections which is illegal, to which the Advocate General said that an petition of MQM regarding the quorum of the Election Commission had already been rejected.

The Advocate General said that the MQM had requested to stop the local government elections in the plea related to the implementation of the Supreme Court’s decision. The second petition of MQM was also rejected by the court.

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) reserved the verdict on the reference filed by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) about dual electoral lists.

A three-member bench conducted the hearing of the plea under the chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja pertaining to the dual electoral lists related to local body elections in Karachi and Hyderabad.
During the hearing, the chief election commissioner told the lawyer representing MQM-P that he has gone to various forums, however, this issue was never raised before.

He told the lawyer to raise any other issue so that they can be clubbed.

The CEC further remarked that the lawyer is giving a wrong statement regarding the dual electoral rolls, rejecting his statement.

“You think you can get the elections delayed when your arguments are irrelevant so far,” he told the lawyer.

Sikandar Sultan Raja also stressed that the local government elections in Karachi will not be delayed, saying that it’s the Election Commission of Pakistan’s job to conduct the polls.
