ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan(ECP) issued bailable warrant of former federal minister  Fawad Chaudhry for non-appearance in contempt case.

A 4-member bench headed by Election Commission member Nisar Durrani heard the case against founder PTI and Fawad Chaudhry regarding contempt of the Chief Election Commissioner and ECP.  Shoaib Shaheen’s assistant counsel appeared before the commission.

During the hearing, Deputy Director Law Election Commission Saima Janjua said that there is no stay ng order in this case for the founder PTI in the High Court. The last time this case was heard in the High Court was in January. The High Court had stayed the final order but action could be taken.

During the hearing, the Member Election Commission asked that where is Fawad Chaudhi, where is his lawyer, should we issue his warrant. On this, the assistant lawyer said that Fawad is busy in the High Court, his lawyer Faisal Chaudhry is also in the court.

Member Election Commission said that Fawad Chaudhry is not in jail and ECP can issue his warrant.

IHC allows Fawad Chaudhry to travel abroad

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court(IHC) allowed former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry to go abroad.

Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq heard the request of Fawad Chaudhry for permission to go abroad.

The court ordered the former minister’s name to be temporarily removed from the passport control list for two weeks and said that Fawad Chaudhry can go abroad from August 10 to 24.

On the other hand, speaking to the media outside the court, Fawad Chaudhry said that it has been more than a year and still are running for bails. He said “ If you get out in one case, you are arrested in the next, our prosecution branch has been completely destroyed”.

He said that the state structure stands on the institutions which are being destroyed. He said there is a need to reduce bitterness and resume talk.

Court grants bail to Fawad Chaudry in road blocking case

LAHORE: The Sessions Court of Lahore granted bail to former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry in the road blocking case.

Lahore Sessions Court Judge Abdul Ghaffar heard the bail application of former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry.

The court said that the traffic in Lahore can be jammed for any other reason, there is often a traffic jam in Lahore and Fawad Chaudhry is not accused of causing a traffic jam.

Later, the court granted interim bail to Fawad Chaudhry on a surety of Rs 50,000 and issued a 2-page written order.

The court said that it has confirmed the interim bail of the co-accused Shah Mehmood Qureshi in this case.

A case has been registered against Fawad Chaudhry for blocking the road and holding a press conference and making a provocative speech.

RAWALPINDI: Former Federal Minister and leader of Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) Fawad Chaudhry was released from Adiala Jail after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) approved his bail.

Fawad Chaudhry was granted bail 2 days ago, after which he has now been released.

Fawad Chaudhry reached home after his release from Adiala Jail, upon reaching home his daughters were happy and welcomed their father.

It should be noted that Fawad Chaudhry was imprisoned in Adiala Jail on judicial remand in National Accountability Bureau(NAB) case related to land in Jhelum.

Fawad Chaudhry had approached the Islamabad High Court for bail after his arrest, after which the Islamabad High Court ordered the release of the former federal minister on bail.

The former minister had been behind bars since November 4, 2023, in multiple cases, after he was arrested from his Islamabad residence in connection with a complaint filed against him at Aabpara Police Station.

IHC orders to release Fawad Chaudhry on bail

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC)  ordered the release of former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry on bail.

Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri heard the bail petition of Fawad Chaudhry, in which lawyer Qaiser Imam appeared in the court on behalf of the former minister.

Later, the court granted Fawad Chaudhry’s bail after the arguments of the lawyers were completed and ordered his release.

On the bail of Fawad Chaudhry, his brother Faisal Chaudhry said that it is feared that Fawad Chaudhry will be arrested in another false case, it is expected that the courts will protect him from illegal arrest.

It should be noted that Fawad Chaudhry is imprisoned in Adiala Jail on judicial remand in National Accountability Bureau(NAB)  case related to land in Jhelum.

Court extends Fawad Chaudhry’s judicial remand till March 26

ISLAMABAD: Accountability Court Islamabad has extended the judicial remand of former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry till March 26.

Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry, who was arrested in the case related to corruption in construction projects in Jhelum, was presented by the National Accountability Bureau(NAB) in the accountability court after the completion of judicial remand.

Fawad Chaudhry was presented in the court of Accountability Court judge Nasir Javed Rana, where the NAB prosecutor took the position that inquiries against Fawad Chaudhry are still ongoing.

Fawad Chaudhry said in the court that he should be allowed to talk to family members and daughters on the phone, on which the accountability court accepted Fawad Chaudhry’s request.

The accountability court extended Fawad Chaudhry’s judicial remand till March 26.

Fawad Chaudhry announces complete boycott of general elections

LAHORE: Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry announced a complete boycott of the general elections scheduled on February 8.

Fawad Chaudhry said in a letter written to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), “ If there is no choice in the elections then what is the meaning of such elections”.  He said, “I was arrested to withdraw from the election”.

He further wrote that workers were threatened and arrested while nomination papers were rejected without justification. He said his brother was made co-accused by the National Accountability Bureau(NAB after his documents were approved.

The former federal minister said that the ECP has failed miserably in performing its duties and in these circumstances, his group announces a complete boycott of the elections.

It should be noted that Fawad Chaudhry is in the custody of NAB on corruption charges in the housing project in Jhelum.

ISLAMABAD: The Accountability Court has sent former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry to Adiala Jail on judicial remand in the case of corruption in construction projects in Jhelum.

Islamabad Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Basheer heard the case against Fawad Chaudhry in construction projects in Jhelum.

During the hearing, Fawad Chaudhry is facing allegations of influencing and putting pressure as federal minister on the offi­cers of the Provincial Highway Department, Punjab for the initiation of Dualization of Lillah Interchange via Pind Dadan Khan to Jehlum against the facts and preparation of PC-1 on exaggerated cost.

Fawad Chaudhry was presented in Accountability Court today after completing his 29-day physical remand. Faisal Chaudhry and Raja Amir Abbas were representing Fawad Chaudhry.

The lawyer applied to award B-class prison to the judge which was accepted. Power of attorney applications given by the defense lawyers were also approved by the judge.

Meanwhile, a bail application was also filed on behalf of Fawad Chaudhry.

The hearing has been adjourned till February 1st on the bail application and completion of judicial remand by the Accountability Court.

ISLAMABAD: The Accountability Court handed over Fawad Chaudhry, the leader of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP)  to the National Accountability Bureau(NAB) on physical remand for the fourth time.

Islamabad Accountability Court Duty Judge Shah Rukh Arjumand heard the case of corruption in construction projects in Jhelum against Fawad Chaudhry. In this regard, the NAB prosecutor and the Fawad Chaudhry lawyer gave arguments while the police presented the accused in court after the physical remand was over.

During the hearing, the court inquired that Fawad Chaudhry has been in physical remand for how many days, On this, the NAB prosecutor said that so far 20 days of physical remand have been completed.

Meanwhile, Fawad Chaudhry’s lawyer objected to the hearing on behalf of the duty judge and said that Judge Muhammad Bashir of the Accountability Court is on duty and is present in Adiala Jail. It is requested that the hearing be adjourned till the arrival of Judge Muhammad Bashir.

On this, the NAB prosecutor said that Judge Muhammad Bashir of the Accountability Court is not in his office yet, his chair is vacant at the moment and he is in Adiala Jail.

ISLAMABAD: The Accountability Court further extended the physical remand of former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry in corruption cases.

Islamabad Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Basheer heard the case against Fawad Chaudhry in construction projects in Jhelum. The National Accountability Bureau(NAB) officials presented the former minister in court.

On behalf of Fawad Chaudhry, Raja Aamir submitted the advocacy letter while the NAB prosecutor presented arguments in the court.

During the hearing, the court accepted Fawad Chaudhry’s request to meet the family.

The NAB prosecutor requested further physical remand of Fawad Chaudhry and took the position that it is known from seven bank accounts that some transactions were suspicious. The Fawad Chaudhry is suspected of bribery through suspicious bank account transactions.

The NAB prosecutor said that the banking records related to Fawad Chaudhry case should be recovered, so his physical remand should be further extended.

The court reserved the decision on the request of NAB  and extended the physical remand of Fawad Chaudhry.

The contempt case of Election Commission against founder PTI Imran Khan and former minister Fawad Chaudhry was heard in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail where a four-member bench of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) heard.

During the hearing, PTI founder Imran Khan and Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party(IPP) leader Fawad Chaudhry were present in the court room.

In the court, the charge sheet was read out to the accused, on which they denied the allegations in the charge sheet.

Later, the Election Commission adjourned further hearing of the case till January 16.

It should be noted that a jail trial has been approved against Imran Khan and others in the contempt of election commission case.

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry in a corruption case.

The arrest warrant of the leader of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party(IPP) and former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry was issued by Chairman National Accountability Bureau(NAB), after which NAB arrested him.

According to the text of the warrant, Fawad Chaudhry has been arrested in a corruption case and NAB has taken him into custody from Adiala Jail, NAB officials will present him in court and request his remand.

It should be noted that Fawad Chaudhry is already under arrest where the court of Rawalpindi sent him to Adiala jail on judicial remand yesterday.

ISLAMABAD: The court handed over Fawad Chaudhry, leader of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) to Anti-Corruption on a one-day transit remand.

Anti-Corruption Punjab case against Fawad Chaudhry was heard in the District and Sessions Courts of Islamabad, in which anti-corruption police presented Fawad Chaudhry handcuffed to the court while National Accountability Bureau(NAB) Prosecutor Adnan Ali and Fawad Chaudhry’s brother Faisal Chaudhry appeared in court.

During the hearing, Judge Qazi Majid said that the anti-corruption department of Punjab needs Fawad Chaudhry’s transit remand. On this, Faisal Chaudhry said that Fawad is a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association and added that the country is not running according to the constitution and law.

The plaintiff against Fawad Chaudhry is a resident of Rawalpindi, what new notice has been given to Fawad Chaudhry by the anti-corruption department.

Meanwhile, Prosecutor Adnan Ali requested a one-day transit remand and said that the bail cannot be filed in Islamabad because Fawad Chaudhry is under arrest, the merits of the case cannot be decided at the stage of remand.

Later, at the request of the prosecution, the court reserved the decision on the transitory remand of Fawad Chaudhry, which was pronounced after some time, and accepted the request of the prosecution.
