KARACHI: Independent MPA Sajjad Soomro presented the resolution to revoke K-Electric’s license in the Sindh Assembly.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs of Sindh, Zia Ul Hassan Lanjar, supported the resolution.
Zia Ul Hassan Lanjar highlighted people’s dissatisfaction with K-Electric, adding that K-Electric had failed to address the public’s concerns.
The minister called for a session of the assembly committee against the atrocities committed by K-Electric.
The Opposition Leader in the Sindh Assembly, Ali Khursheedi, assured that a session against K-Electric would be held soon.
On the other hand, Ghulam Qadir Chandio claimed that action would be taken against K-Electric if its leader failed to comply with the committee’s decision.
The resolution resulted in the formation of an 11-member committee comprising of members of Sindh assembly.
The committee will evaluate the performance of K-Electric, the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco), and the Sukkur Electric Power Company (Sepco). The committee includes members from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)
