KARACHI: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh leadership filed a complaint in the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) seeking the removal of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja and five other members of the commission.
PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh, Justice (retd) Noor ul Haq Qureshi and MPA Muhammad Shabbir lodged the complaint under Articles 209 (5) and (6) of the Constitution.
In the complaint filed in the SJC , it is said that the Chief Election Commissioner and the members of the Election Commission failed to fulfill their constitutional responsibility.
The complaint states that the Chief Election Commissioner and members tried to undermine the mandate of PTI and court decisions, their actions affected more than 120 million voters.
The Supreme Judicial Council has been requested to inquire into the allegations leveled against the Chief Election Commissioner and members.
