10 FC personnel martyred in terrorist attack in DI Khan

ISLAMABAD: At least 10 personnel of the Frontier Constabulary (FC) martyred when terrorists (Khawarij) launched a fierce attack on an FC checkpoint in Darazinda, Dera Ismail Khan.

Spokesperson from the Ministry of Interior, said assault, executed under the cover of darkness, was a well-coordinated effort by militants who targeted the Zam FC checkpoint using heavy weaponry.

The FC soldiers stood firm and courageously fought back, ultimately sacrificing their lives to protect the checkpoint and thwart the terrorists’ assault.

The Ministry of Interior spokesperson confirmed that ten FC soldiers were martyred in the confrontation, and three others sustained injuries. Despite the overwhelming threat posed by the heavily armed attackers, the soldiers’ bravery prevented the terrorists from advancing further.

“The martyred soldiers thwarted the terrorists’ attack on the checkpoint by laying down their lives,” the spokesperson said, honoring the soldiers’ ultimate sacrifice.

The names of the martyrs have been released, including Naib Subedar Muhammad Jan, Naik Arif, Lance Naik Saeed-ur-Rehman, Sepoy Akhunzada, and Sepoy Hazratullah. Sepoys Mushtaq, Abdul Samad, Imran, Basir, and Mehtab also embraced martyrdom. Six soldiers hailed from South Waziristan, while four were from the Karak district.

Their brave resistance served as a testament to their commitment to the security of Pakistan and the preservation of peace in the region.

Three FC personnel were also wounded during the exchange of fire with the attackers. The injured soldiers including Naik Hamza, Sepoy Hasan, and Sepoy Sabir Ayub were swiftly transferred to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dera Ismail Khan for medical treatment. Their condition is currently stable, and they are receiving the necessary care.

Paying tribute to the martyred soldiers, the spokesperson emphasized that the FC remained unwavering in its resolve to combat terrorism and secure peace for Pakistan.

PM offers Pakistan’s support to Oman in dealing with terrorism

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the dastardly terrorist attack on Imam Bargah Ali bin Abu Talib in Wadi Kabir district of Muscat took place on July 16, and offered Pakistan’s support to Oman in the elimination of terrorism in all of its forms.

The prime minister, talking to Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman Fahad Sulaiman Khalaf Al Kharusi, who paid a courtesy call on him, appreciated Oman’s swift response and cooperation with the Pakistan mission in the repatriation of the dead bodies and treatment of the injured.

The attack on Imam Bargah had resulted in the death of six people, including four Pakistani nationals, and over thirty injured, nearly all of whom were Pakistanis.

The prime minister said Pakistan had itself been the victim of terrorism for the past several decades.

During the course of the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz conveyed his good wishes for Sultan Haitham bin Tariq while fondly recalling his telephone conversations with the Sultan on Eid ul Adha as well as Eid ul Fitr earlier in the year.

The prime minister reiterated his invitation to the Sultan of Oman to undertake an official visit to Pakistan at his earliest convenience.

On the bilateral front, the prime minister stressed that Pakistan and Oman enjoyed close, brotherly ties with a shared history, faith and culture.

He expressed Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries, particularly in trade, investment, energy, and defense.

In this regard, Prime Minister Shehbaz thanked the ambassador for encouraging a trade and investment delegation to undertake a visit to Pakistan next week, while assuring him that the relevant Pakistani authorities would extend full cooperation to the delegation while seeking mutually beneficial outcomes.

Attacking security forces was a cowardly and reprehensible act, Ataullah Tarar said. The brave soldiers of Pakistan Army are sacrificing their lives for the security of the country, their sacrifices will always be remembered, he remarked.

He prayed to Allah Almighty for the elevation of ranks of the martyrs in paradise and patience for the bereaved families. Prime Minister Kakar said the evil intentions of terrorists would never be allowed to succeed.
