29 hostage injured in Jaffar Express attack moved to Quetta

QUETTA: As many as 29 hostage injured in the Jaffar Express hijacking were shifted to Quetta for treatment by the law enforcement agencies (LEA).

According to the hospital administration, 16 injured were taken to Combined Military Hospital (CMH)   and 13 were taken to Civil Hospital Quetta. The condition of the injured is out of danger.

According to the railway police, the martyrs were also among the railway police officer Shamroz.

The injured say the Pakistan Army helped them greatly.

Amjad Yaseen, the driver of Jaffar Express, which was targeted in a terrorist attack while travelling from Quetta to Peshawar, has been confirmed safe.

Yaseen, a resident of Changa Manga’s Chak No 17, survived the attack, as verified by his family. A video of him confirming his well-being has gone viral on social media.

A false reports circulated online claiming that he had lost his life in the attack. However, Yaseen personally called his brother, Amir, to assure him that he was completely unharmed.

Earleir, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said on Wednesday that the clearance operation, launched after the Jaffar Express train was attacked and hijacked, has been completed with all terrorists present killed.

26 killed, 40 others injured in suicide blast at Quetta railway station

QUETTA: At least 26 people were killed and 40 others were injured in  in a suicide  blast at Quetta railway station on Saturday.

According to rescue sources, 26 people died in the explosion while 40 were injured in the blast. Sources have said that the injured are being shifted to the hospital.

The rescue teams have been rushed to the blast site and shifted bodied and injured to nearby hospital.

According to the railway authorities, Jaffar Express was supposed to leave for Peshawar at 9 o’clock, the train was not yet on the platform. The blast occurred near reservation office.

On the other hand, according to Dr. Noor Ullah of Civil Hospital Quetta, an emergency has been declared in the hospital while additional doctors and staff have been called for medical assistance.

Talking to the media, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP ) Operation Quetta Muhammad Baloch confirmed that death of several people due to the explosion at the railway station,

He said initially explosion seems to be a suicide.

He explosion happened when a large number of passengers were on the platform to depart from the Jaffar Express.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti expressed his deepest condolences over the tragic loss of life and those who sustained injuries in the early Saturday morning Quetta blast.

In a message on private news channel, he strongly condemned the Quetta blast, stating that police and rescue teams swiftly responded to the scene.

He emphasized that the terrorist attack targeted innocent civilians, which is utterly inhumane.

May our collective grief translate into action against terrorism and our resolve for peace only grow stronger, he added.

Train operation from Quetta resumes after 46-days

Quetta train operations suspended amid security issues

QUETTA: Train services from Quetta to other parts of the country have been restored after 46 days following the repair of the railway bridge in Bolan.

The Jaffar Express has left Quetta for Peshawar after a 46-day suspension. The Divisional Superintendent of Railways, Imran Hayat, said that train services were restored after one and half months, with the damaged bridge being rebuilt.

Talking to journalists, DS Quetta said the suspension of train service caused Rs 1.5 million loss to the Pakistan Railways.

He also informed that the Bolan Mail from Karachi is also scheduled to depart for Quetta today, with enhanced security measures in place.

Passengers expressed joy over the restoration of the service, noting that it is a relief after facing significant challenges during the disruption.

The train service was halted due to the destruction of the railway bridge at Dozan area by terrorists. The Pakistan Railways team repaired the damaged bridge in just one and a half month.

Authorities have assured that foolproof security arrangements have been put in place to ensure the safety of passengers.

On August 26, terrorists launched coordinated attacks on civilians and government properties across several districts in Balochistan.

Among the damaged infrastructure was a British-era bridge situated between the Kolpur and Dozan railway stations in Bolan.
