National Seismic Monitoring Centre, Islamabad, said the magnitude of the earthquake was recorded 3.7 while the depth was 12 km, while the epicenter was about 90 km west of Quetta.

Due to the earthquake, people came out of their homes in the wake of Kalima Tayyaba, but no casualties or financial losses were currently reported.

Earlier, earthquake tremors were felt in different parts of Pakistan, the magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 4.1 on the Richter scale, while its center was located in the Koh Hindu Kush area of ​​Afghanistan, which was 60 km deep.

Experts say the Hindu Kush region is dynamic in terms of earthquake, and that minor earthquake earthquakes are common due to tectonic movement in the area, authorities are monitoring the situation, though no aftershocks have been reported so far.

FBR increases property valuation in 56 cities

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue(FBR) has increased the property valuation price by 80 percent in 56 cities of the country.

The FBR has increased the property valuation rate to 80 percent in 56 cities to bring the property value closer to the market rate, the new rates will be applicable from November 1.

According to the circular notification issued by FBR, the price of property in E7 of Islamabad is 150,000  per square yard, in sector E6 and F7 the price per square yard is 140,000,  while in F7 per square yard Square yard 140,000 , and E 11 per square yard fixed at 70,000.

The notification stated that property rates have also been increased in Abbottabad, Attock, Bahawalnagar and Bannu, while new property rates have also been set in Bhakkar, Bahawalpur, Chakwal, Chiniot and Dera Ismail Khan.

Property prices have also increased in Dera Ghazi Khan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Gujrat, similarly, new property rates have been set in Hafizabad, Haripur, Karachi and Kasur.

According to FBR, Lahore, Okara, Mianwali, Quetta, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal and Sargodha are also included in the list.

FBR said the valuation tables will help in generating more revenue from properties.

Train operation from Quetta resumes after 46-days

QUETTA: Train services from Quetta to other parts of the country have been restored after 46 days following the repair of the railway bridge in Bolan.

The Jaffar Express has left Quetta for Peshawar after a 46-day suspension. The Divisional Superintendent of Railways, Imran Hayat, said that train services were restored after one and half months, with the damaged bridge being rebuilt.

Talking to journalists, DS Quetta said the suspension of train service caused Rs 1.5 million loss to the Pakistan Railways.

He also informed that the Bolan Mail from Karachi is also scheduled to depart for Quetta today, with enhanced security measures in place.

Passengers expressed joy over the restoration of the service, noting that it is a relief after facing significant challenges during the disruption.

The train service was halted due to the destruction of the railway bridge at Dozan area by terrorists. The Pakistan Railways team repaired the damaged bridge in just one and a half month.

Authorities have assured that foolproof security arrangements have been put in place to ensure the safety of passengers.

On August 26, terrorists launched coordinated attacks on civilians and government properties across several districts in Balochistan.

Among the damaged infrastructure was a British-era bridge situated between the Kolpur and Dozan railway stations in Bolan.

PR completes 40% restoration work of bridge damaged in Quetta

LAHORE: The Pakistan Railways has successfully completed 40 percent of the restoration work on a bridge damaged by terrorism in Quetta, Balochistan.

Pakistan Railways spokesperson confirmed that ongoing work was being carried out in two shifts under the supervision of Railway Chief Executive Officer Aamir Baloch.

The spokesperson assured that the bridge would be ready for train operations by October 15. He emphasized that the restoration was being managed with the railway’s own resources.

Once security clearance was received, the rail connection between Balochistan and the rest of the country will be immediately restored.

The number of Pakistanis visiting Saudi Arabia increased by 43 percent last year and 2.7 million Pakistani tourists are expected to visit Saudi Arabia in 2024.

In order to facilitate the increasing number of tourists, Tasheer offices have been established in Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta and Multan, where various services are provided to those who wish to visit Saudi Arabia to obtain a visa.
