LAHORE: The Punjab Education Department has issued new school timings for Ramazan, which will be enforced across all schools in the province.

According to a notification issued by the Department of Education, the schools will open from Monday to Thursday from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm and classes will end at 12:30 pm on Friday.

The notification states that the double shift school will be run from 8:30 in the morning and the second shift will begin from 01:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Balochistan Govt dismisses 114 absent teachers

QUETTA: The Balochistan Government has launched crackdown against absentee teachers across the province.

Balochistan Education Department has started action against the absent teachers from 2021, under which 114 absent teachers have been dismissed.

The education department said that 998 absent teachers have been issued show cause notices and 429 others have been issued explanation letter while 78 absent teachers of the province have been suspended.

It should be noted that action has been taken against the absent teachers by the education department Baluchistan.

Earlier,  Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti had decided to sack 2,000 teachers over prolonged absence and fill vacancies in the education department on contractual basis.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the education de­­partment to discuss several issues, including the teachers’ absence, non-functional schools and the shortage of academic staff.

CM Bugti expressed serious concerns over the teachers’ absence and decided to terminate them from service.

CM vows to rid education department of unnecessary interference.  He ordered the chief secretary to complete the termination process within two months.

Over 600 ghost staff found in Sindh Education Department

DADU: At least 600 ghost employees have been identified in Sindh Education Department Dadu District.

According to the details, the District Education Officer (DEO) issued a formal list after the Chief Monitoring Officer (CMO) flagged the issue.

The Deputy DEO has initiated inquiries and sought responses from the relevant education officers regarding the absent employees.

The list included the employees from primary, secondary, middle school teaching, and non-teaching staff members.

The DEO in his report revealed that from the period of August 2023 till February 2024 the listed employees were ghost or fugitives

In his report, the DEO disclosed that the workers listed as ghost employees or fugitives were absent from their duties from August 2023 till February 2024.

PESHAWAR: A ban was imposed on the use of mobile phones in schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Directorate of Education Department has sent a letter to the education officers of all districts in which it has been asked to ban the use of mobile phones during school hours.

According to the Department of Education, the use of mobile phones during school hours hurts the student’s studies, so the use of mobile phones should be banned in the classroom.

The letter further said that the heads of the institution will receive mobile phones from all the staff in the morning.

In the post, it is directed that in case of emergency, the staff should contact the landline or mobile phone of the school head, the staff can use their mobile phone only during free time.

According to the letter, it is necessary to take permission from the heads of the institution to take pictures or videos.

Karachi: Children will now be given music training in government schools of Sindh, Sindh Education Department has recruited 319 music teachers in the province.

The recruitment of music teachers has started in the government schools of 31 districts of Sindh, so far 319 teachers have been recruited.

In this regard, Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Shah says that music teachers will be appointed in schools across the province.

He says that these teachers will give special training in Hamd o Naat and music to the male and female students. The teachers have been recruited by Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Sukkur.

Sindh Education Minister said that among the recruited teachers are prominent musicians of Sindh, all the singers have been recruited in BS 14th grade.

He said that the music teachers will teach the children to play the harmonium, violin, flute, baja, piano, duffle and read music sheet, which will create a positive and encouraging learning environment and also help students prepare for auditions and performances.
