LAHORE: Punjab Police Special Operations Cell arrested seven wanted criminals from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The wanted criminals were involved in serious crimes like extortion, robbery and banditry.

According to the spokesman Punjab Police, the police team has left for Sharjah with proclaimed offender. An accused Sufyan Ali wanted to Gujranwala police in 32 cases of police encounter and terrorism.

Meanwhile, Abdul Latif killed his sister-in law in Rahim Yar Khan in 2023, while Zohaib Sialkot and Jalil wanted to Dera Ghazi Khan Police.

According to police, the proclaimed offender Akash Iqbal wanted to Sialkot police in a fake visa case.

It should be noted that this year, the number of dangerous proclaimed offenders arrested from abroad has increased to 16.

FIA, NCB, Interpol arrest proclaimed offenders from UAE

KARACHI: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) National Central Bureau (NCB), and Interpol Pakistan  arrested 6 proclaimed offenders(POs) wanted in murder and robbery cases.

FIA spokesperson said that the proclaimed offenders were arrested from United Arab Emirates (UAE) and transferred to Lahore Airport. The arrested accused were wanted by Gujranwala, Gujarat, Rajanpur and Multan police.

According to the spokesperson of FIA, the accused had fled abroad after the incidents, Federal Investigation Agency Immigration Lahore handed over the accused to the Punjab Police authorities.

IHC bars Islamabad, Punjab police from arresting Sher Afzal

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has restrained the federal capital and Punjab police from arresting Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf(PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat till December 20.

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir, judge of Islamabad High Court, heard the plea regarding the provision of details of the cases of PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat.

During the hearing, on the order of the court, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Legal presented the record of the Cell FIR in the court.

Justice Arbab Muhammad stated that  “We have given a decision regarding the power of the Executive Magistrate, on this Sher Afzal Marwat said that you have given the best landmark order”.

Sher Afzal Marwat said that a report is also to come from the IG Punjab. On this the court directed the DSP Legal to contact the Punjab government and order the records.

Sher Afzal Marwat said that his 4.1 million have been invested in the advocacy of his cases.

Sher Afzal Marwat pleaded to the court more time.

Later, court restrained the Islamabad and Punjab police from arresting Sher Afzal in any registered case till December 20.

Dera Ghazi Khan: The terrorist attack on Lakhani check post in Dera Ghazi Khan at Punjab-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border was successfully thwarted by the law enforcement agencies(LEAs).

According to the police, terrorists attacked the Lakhani check post on the Punjab and KP border in Dera Ghazi Khan late at night.

Police officials say that more than 25 terrorists attacked the check post with rockets and grenades.

According to the police, there was no loss of life in the attack of the terrorists, while the terrorists escaped on retaliatory action.

The spokesperson of Punjab Police said that the terrorists used heavy weapons including rockets, hand grenades, however, the police personnel immediately retaliated by firing with machine guns and mortars.

Police, Elite Force, Rangers and Counter Terrorism Department jointly confronted the terrorists and as a result of effective retaliatory action, the terrorists escaped with heavy casualties.

The spokesman said that all the check posts on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border were already on high alert.  IG Punjab praised DG Khan police for repelling the terrorist attack.

Punjab police ready to thwart PTI’s final protest call

LAHORE: Punjab police has devised comprehensive strategy to deal with Pakistan Tehreak e Insaf(PTI) protest and sit-inn scheduled on November 24 in federal capital, Islamabad.

Punjab Police has decided to deal strictly with those who disturb the law and order situation.

On the order of IG Punjab, additional inspector general of police (AIG) Operations Punjab has sent a letter to the concerned officers.

According to the letter, 10,700 personnel have been put on standby from across Punjab and 3,500 from Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP), 1,000 from Punjab Constabulary (PC) while 3,000 personnel are already there. 1000 personnel from Special Protection Unit, 1200 personnel from Training Directorate have been put on standby.

It is said in the letter that 1300 people are already there from Gujranwala region. 500 personnel from Sargodha region are on standby and 400 already there. 200 personnel from Sheikhupura and 100 personnel from Nankana Sahib have been put on standby.

According to the letter, 200 personnel from Bahawalnagar and 300 personnel from Bahawalpur are on standby. 300 personnel from Muzaffargarh and 200 personnel from Okara have been kept on standby.

The Central Police Office (CPO) and district police officer (DPO) will be responsible for the transport of the force.

President International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) presented the International Award for IACP 2024 to Superintendent of Police (SP) Beenish Fatima in Boston.

Every year, the IACP selects the best officers from under 40 representatives from around the world and this organization aligns the protection of people of various communities around the world with the modern requirements.

Inspector General (IG) Punjab Usman Anwar while congratulating SP Beenish Fatima for making Pakistan famous around the world and winning the international award said that SP Beenish Fatima is a valuable asset of Punjab Police.

It should be noted that SP Beenish Fatima also has the honor of being the first woman Chief Traffic Officer of Rawalpindi.

FIA recovers 3 children missing for 7 years

LAHORE: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has recovered three children missing for 7 years from Allama Iqbal International Airport of Lahore.

FIA Interpol and Immigration Lahore recovered the missing children. According to FIA, the children were rescued on arrival at Lahore Airport from Italy. On the request of Punjab Police Hafizabad, yellow notices were issued on missing children.

DG FIA Ahmad Ishaq Jahangir appreciated the performance of the team on the recovery of the children and said that Interpol is always trying to recover the missing children.

45 Punjab police officers, personnel working as facilitator of drug smugglers

LAHORE: At least 45 officers and personnel of Punjab Police were allegedly involved in drug smuggling and working as facilitators of the traffickers.

The Punjab police chief has directed all divisional and district police chiefs to take immediate action and submit a report.

The provincial police chief has also sought a detailed report on the actions taken and the outcomes there of report.

Details including the names, designations, department, CNIC, mobile phone number, place of posting and action taken against the accused have been sent to the district police chiefs. Among those involved are two sub-inspectors of Rawalpindi police, one serving as the SHO and the other posted in the Police Lines Headquarters.

Other individuals involved include a former DSP Anti-Narcotics Unit district Lahore and his driver, a sub-inspector from the Special Branch in Hafizabad and another from the Special Protection Unit (SPU) Punjab.

Many of these officials were posted in various police stations, including those holding significant positions such as SHO despite their alleged involvement in drug smuggling.

According to the report, among the officials involved in drug trafficking and facilitating the traffickers are Inspector Mazhar Iqbal of Lahore, Sub Inspector Muhammad Atif of Gujranwala, Inspector Ahad Hussain of Hafizabad, Sub Inspector Liaqat Hussain and Sub Inspector Sarmad Ilyas of Rawalpindi.

Punjab police arrest accused in child marriage case

SHEIKHUPURA: The Punjab police arrested an accused in the case related to underage marriage after 13-years old boy was married to 5-years old girl in Sheikhupura.

According to the police, a 13-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl were married in Kot Nazir, a village on GT Road in Sheikhupura, in which 8 people including the parents of the two minor children participated.

On being informed about the marriage, the Muridke police raided the event and arrested one person.

A case was registered under the Child Marriage Act on the complaint of ASI Mohammad Younis of Muridke Police.

Police said that raids are also being conducted to arrest other accused.

FIA Interpol arrests wanted criminal from Saudi Arabia

KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Interpol and Immigration staff arrested the alleged suspect involved in serious crimes like sabotage from Saudi Arabia.

Spokesperson of FIA said the accused Rao Habib ur Rehman is wanted by the Punjab Police. The accused was arrested from Saudi Arabia and moved to Karachi Airport.

A case was registered against the accused in the year 2014 under the anti-terrorism provisions of Fateh Shah police station Vehari. FIA NCB Interpol had issued a red notice for the arrest of the accused, the accused will be handed over to the Punjab Police.

Director General FIA Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir while appreciating the performance of NCB Interpol Pakistan said that NCB Interpol Pakistan equipped with modern technology is in touch with the whole world 24/7, in the world no place is safe for wanted accused in serious crimes.

LHC directs Punjab Police to make videos during every raid

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) issued orders to the Punjab Police to make videos during the raids to arrest the accused.

Lahore High Court Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh issued an 8-page written decision in which the court laid down new rules for the arrest of drug suspects.

In its decision, the court has ordered that body cameras and dashboard cameras should be provided to the police within six months.

The court decision has said that Pakistan is associated with international conventions for the prevention of drugs and country is bound to make drug laws in accordance with the principles of the conventions.

The judgment further stated that there is a lot of false complaint in criminal in Pakistan and reforms and transparency should be increased to prevent it. The videography is the best tool to deal with false drug cases, videography in the interaction between police and drug suspects.

The court decision said that the data obtained from the videos can reveal the pattern of law enforcement agencies and these patterns will help the policy makers in the training of the officers and in making the policy.

The Supreme Court in the recent judgment has emphasized the importance of videography in drug cases. DG ANF has issued SOPs of videography for drug raid. It is the need of the hour that the Punjab Police should also be equipped with modern technology.

The court in its judgment said that the Punjab government is directed to provide wearable cameras to the police on a priority basis and SOPs should be made for the use of the video captured by these cameras.

GUJRAT: Punjab Police conducted a raid at the house of former chief minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in the wee hours of Wednesday.

According to sources, a heavy contingent of Punjab Police has raided the residence of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi’s house in Gujrat.

In this regard, the eyewitnesses said that law enforcement agencies(LEA) have raided the residence of former federal minister Chaudhry Moonis Elahi and former chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.

A heavy contingent of police was present at the residence of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in Kunjah and dozens of vehicles and hundreds of personnel cordoned off the residence while police vehicles were patrolling around and outside the residence.

Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi while talking to Bol News has said that the Punjab government is taking revenge and full vindictive action is being taken against family members.

He said that “We will approach the court against the Punjab government’s action.”
