LAHORE: The Anti -Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab conducted 189 intelligence -based operations(IBOs) in different cities of Punjab and arrested 10 terrorists.

Spokesman of the CTD said intelligence -based operations were carried out in Lahore, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Jhelum during which 10 terrorists were arrested.

A CTD spokesperson said that two dangerous terrorists were arrested from Rawalpindi, belonging to Nankana Sahib while explosives, detonators, pamphlets and cash were recovered from the terrorists.

According to the CTD spokesman, the terrorists wanted to spread panic at various places. The CTD  arrested 263 suspects in 2053 combing operations this week, and 82473 people were questioned in combing operations.

KP Govt decides to enhance security of judges

PESHAWAR:  The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to increase the security of judges across the province and committee prepared recommendations in this regard.

The committee constituted to review the security for the judges has recommended that judges deployed in sensitive areas should be provided personal security, as well as that for homes and the routes they travel on.

The committee has prepared recommendations in which it is suggested to provide security to the judges posted in sensitive areas in addition to personal security at home and on the way. While the responsibility of determining the sensitive area related to security will be handed over to Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).

The committee has also recommended bulletproof vehicles for all High Court benches and category A security for District and Sessions Judges.

According to the document, one head constable and 4 constables along with the district and sessions judge, 2 constables will be appointed for the security of the additional district and sessions judge.

While the committee has appointed civil judges, senior civil judges, judicial magistrate, family court and presiding officers. 1, 1 has been recommended to be posted on stable security.

KARACHI: Counter Terrorism Department and Sindh Rangers arrested three most wanted terrorists associated with Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Swat group from Quaidabad area of Karachi and recovered explosive material from their possession.

The accused include Javed Swati alias Bhai Jaan, Shahid Hussain alias Umar and Akbar Zeib Khan, who are involved in several cases of terrorism, murder, attempted murder, and extortion.

According to the Rangers spokesperson, the suspects were planning terrorist attacks against the security forces, Javed Swati alias Bhai Haan had joined the TTP Swat group in 2008, and Commander Umar Rehman alias Ustad Fateh and Bin Yameen were members of the group.

Two brothers of the accused, Shahid and Zahid, were killed in the operation of the security forces in Swat, he along with his family moved to Karachi after the Swat operation and hid in different places and was arrested from Karachi in 2012 and spent 14 months in Swat. He remained in jail, after his release he moved to Gulshan Buneer Landhi.

The close associates of the accused, Commander Umar-ur-Rehman alias Ustad Fateh, Abd-ur-Rehman alias Shahzad, Habibullah alias Muawiya had moved to Afghanistan and he was in constant contact with them through WhatsApp, and has also been doing facilitation work for them.

Accused Shahid Hussain alias Umar and Akbar Zeib Khan joined Tehreek Ghulba tu Islam in 2010, Zakria alias Inamullah joined Fitna-ul-Khawarij Swat group in 2014. These accused were involved in several acts of extortion, murder and attempted murder in Karachi.

Court approves physical remand of suspects involved in airport attack

KARACHI: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Karachi handed over the two suspects involved in the airport suicide attack to Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on 10-day physical remand.

The CTD officials presented the two suspects arrested in the airport suicide attack case in the ATC in Karachi.

The investigating officer (IO) requested physical remand of the accused and told the court that physical remand of the accused is required for interrogation.

The court approved the ten-day physical remand of the accused Javed and Gul Nisa and handed them over to the CTD and asked for a progress report from the investigation officer for the upcoming hearing.

The court directed to form a joint investigation team (JIT) to investigate the accused and said that the Sindh Home Department should form a JIT to investigate the accused.

The CTD officials brought the two arrested accused to the court in an armored vehicle under tight security.

CTD officials said that the mastermind of the terrorist attack, Javed, and the facilitator, Gul Nisa were involved in suicide blast.
