KP police, CTD arrest five terrorists in Karak

PESHAWAR: At least five terrorists were killed in a joint operation by Counter Terrorism Department(CTD) and police in Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to police officials, law enforcement agencies (LEA) conducted a joint operation in Mir Kalam Banda area of ​​Karak. Operations were reported on the presence of terrorists in the morning.

Police officials said five terrorists were killed in the operation while no casualties were reported by CTD and police.

According to authorities, the bodies of the dead terrorists have been shifted to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.

Policeman, polio worker shot dead in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

PESHAWAR:  Armed men opened fire at polio teams killing police officer and a polio worker  during anti-polio campaign in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the police, the accused opened fire on a polio worker in Kala Khel Masti Khan, Bannu District, killing him while the accused escaped.

Police say that the deceased was going for polio worker duty, he was targeted on the way.

According to the police, the old enmity of the victim was also going on, further investigation of the incident is going on.

In separate incident, policeman was martyred and a polio worker was injured in the firing in Karak District.

According to the police, a polio team was also attacked in Shakar Khel area of ​​Banda Dawood Shah of Karak.

A police officer on duty of the anti-polio team was martyred in the firing while a polio worker was also injured in the firing by the armed men and the attacker escaped.

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi strongly condemned the attack on the polio team in Karak, expressing deep sorrow over the police officer’s death.

RAWALPINDI: The funeral prayer of Shaheed Sepoy Waris Khan, who embraced martyrdom in a fierce exchange of fire with terrorists in Miran Shah area of North Waziristan on Monday was held with full military honors in his native town Karak District.

A large number of army officers, soldiers, relatives and local people participated in the funeral prayer of the martyr, an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release said.

Sepoy Waris Khan left behind a widow and two sons besides parents to mourn. “The determination and morale of the soldiers of the Pakistan Army cannot be shaken by the cowardly acts of the terrorists. The war against terrorism will continue until the end of the last terrorist,” the ISPR said.
