4.2 magnitude earthquake hits Turbat

QUETTA: Earthquake tremors were felt in Turbat area of ​​Kech district Balochistan province but no loss of life or property reported in the earthquake.

According to the seismological center, the magnitude of the earthquake was 4.2 and the depth was 35 km. The epicenter was 24 km northwest of Turbat.

Due to the earthquake, people came out of their houses reciting Kalima Tayyaba and panic spread.

PMA expresses concern on dengue related 14 deaths in Turbat

Punjab reports 149 new dengue cases in 24 hours

KARACHI: Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) expresses deep concern over the recent dengue outbreak in Turbat, Baluchistan, which has claimed the lives of 14 individuals so far.

According to news reports, the dengue fever outbreak has spread rapidly in the region, putting the local population at risk.

The Pakistan medical Association urges the provincial and federal authorities to take immediate and effective measures to control the situation and provide adequate medical facilities and resources to the affected areas.

“The loss of 14 precious lives due to the dengue outbreak in Turbat is truly saddening,”. We call upon the government to act swiftly and allocate the necessary resources to combat this public health crisis and ensure the safety and well-being of the people in the affected regions.”

The PMA also appeals to the local community to cooperate with the authorities and follow preventive measures, such as clearing stagnant water, using mosquito repellents, and seeking prompt medical attention in case of fever or other symptoms.

Security forces foil terrorist attack on Turbat naval base

Security forces killed seven terrorists in KP IBOs

RAWALPINDI: A sepoy of the Frontier Corps Balochistan embraced martyrdom while four terrorists were killed during a swift and effective response of the security forces to the terrorists’ attack on the Pakistan Naval Base and the Navy Ship PNS Siddique in Turbat while ensuring the safety and security of the personnel and assets.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the terrorists attempted to attack the Naval Base on the night of March 25th and 26th.

However, the security forces in the vicinity were immediately mobilised to support the naval troops. “Synergetic & effective response by the armed forces enabled killing of all four terrorists in ensuing joint clearance operation,” the ISPR said.

The martyred soldier was identified as 24-years old Sepoy Noman Fareed resident of Muzaffargarh of Frontier Corps Balochistan, having fought gallantly, embraced, shahadat, during intense exchange of fire.

“Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area. Pakistan Armed Forces remain committed to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country at all costs,” the ISPR said.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the security forces for thwarting a terrorist attack on Turbat naval airbase.

Due to a prompt and effective response by the security forces, terrorists were sent to hell, thus saving the country from a huge damage.

PML-N leader Aslam Bilidi injured in a gun attack in Turbat

TURBAT: Former Senator and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate for National Assembly Aslam Bilidi was injured by unknown persons in Turbat city of Balochistan.

Deputy Commissioner Kech Hussain Jan, unknown persons opened fire on the main road in Turbat city, as a result of which Aslam Bilidi was injured.

According to Deputy Commissioner Keach, Aslam Bilidi is contesting the election as PML-N candidate from NA 258.

Deputy Commissioner Keech Hussain Jan said that Aslam Bilidi was a former provincial minister and senator as well.

The police said Aslam Bilidi, who was injured in the firing, has been shifted to the Teaching Hospital in Turbat.

TURBAT: The protesters continued their sit-in against alleged extrajudicial killing of Balaah Mola Bakhsh by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).

A large number of civil society representatives and other people are participating in the sit-in that has been going on for seven days.

The participants of the Turbat sit-in demand that a case be registered and action taken against the officials in the alleged police encounter.

4 people including young Balaach were killed in an alleged encounter in Turbat last Thursday.

Earlier, the young Balaach, who was killed in the encounter, was buried in the local graveyard yesterday, 6 days after the incident.

ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi visited forward posts in coastal areas and inaugurated a 25-bed hospital at Turbat.

The state of the art hospital is aimed to provide quality medical facilities to local populace along with troops.

Upon arrival at Turbat, Naval Chief was received by Commander Pakistan Fleet Vice Admiral Ovais Ahmed Bilgrami.

Chief of the Naval Staff was given detailed briefing on operational preparedness of units and deployed troops. Naval Chief interacted with the troops and expressed full satisfaction on operational preparedness and combat readiness.

He appreciated the high morale of troops in ensuring impregnable defence of the country in the prevailing challenging environment.

The Naval Chief also reiterated Pakistan Navy’s resolve to safeguard the maritime frontiers of the country besides ensuring socio-economic uplift of coastal community as foremost initiatives.
