QUETTA Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir visited Quetta and Turbat in Balochistan during the two days, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
On the first day, the army chief visited Balochistan Corps Headquarters in Quetta where he was given a detailed update on operational, training, and other matters of the formation.
He visited Command & Staff College Quetta and School of Infantry & Tactics and interacted with young officers and instructors and advised them to focus on professional excellence to meet future battlefield challenges.
He also laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada (Martyrs’ Monument) and offered fateha.
On the second day of the visit, COAS Munir visited Turbat. Inspector-General Frontier Corps (IGFC) South Balochistan briefed the army chief on the prevailing security situation in Southern Balochistan and measures in place to ensure a safe and secure environment.
“Every effort will be made for the security and safety of people of Balochistan to ensure a conducive environment for socio-economic development resulting into sustainable peace & prosperity,” the army chief was quoted as saying.
On arrival in Quetta, COAS Munir was received by Corps Commander Quetta Lt General Asif Ghafoor.
