Sepoy martyred in North Waziristan terrorist attack: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: The media wing of the armed forces, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday said during intense exchange of fire with terrorists a Pakistan Army sepoy martyred in North Waziristan district.

The ISPR said on night of Wednesday, terrorists fired at a military post in general area Datta Khel. Army troops initiated a prompt response and effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, it added.

However, Sepoy Hamid Ali, 28, a resident of Sargodha, embraced shahadat having fought gallantly.

Sanitization of the area was being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area, the ISPR relayed.

“Pakistan Army is determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers will not go unpunished,” it added.

On May 15, three children and as many Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred after a suicide blast occurred in the vicinity of Miranshah, North Waziristan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had said.

In a brief statement, the military’s media affairs wing had identified the martyred soldiers as 33-year-old Lance Havaldar Zubair Qadir from Pakpattan, 21-year-old Sepoy Uzair Asfar from Haripur and 22-year-old Sepoy Qasim Maqsood from Multan.

While, the children were identified as 11-year-old Ahmed Hassan, eight-year-old Ahsan and four-year-old Anum.
