PTI leader Azam Swati released from Attock Jail

ATTOCK: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former senator Azam Khan Swati has been released from Attock Jail after obtaining bail in a case.

The cases were registered against PTI leader Azam Swati in Sangjani, Taxila.

However, Azam Khan Swati was arrested on November 5 in a case registered in Taxila police station, after which the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench granted bail to the PTI leader on January 30.

Earlier in October, Azam Swati was arrested from Islamabad during the protest and then shifted to Attock Jail.

However, in November, he was rearrested by the police as soon as he was released from the jail.

NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq invites PTI leader Asad Qaisar for talk

ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has contacted Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf(PTI)  leader Assad Qaisar, inviting him to participate negotiation.

Speaker Ayaz Sadiq made another attempt for continuation of negotiation between government and PTI, talking to PTI leader Asad Qaiser over the telephone and invited him to attend the meeting of the negotiating committee, but PTI gave any concrete assurance to attend the talks.

Earlier, Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar Khan announced the speaker not to attend the talks.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League -Nawaz(PML-N) leader Senator Irfan Siddiqui says that if PTI does not become part of the meeting today. The speaker will dissolve the committee and the government will respond to what the PTI will do.

It is to be noted that the PTI has announced to end the talks with the government and the Speaker’s Secretary has also informed about his decision.

IHC allows Latif Khosa to travel abroad

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday allowed senior advocate and Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader Latif Khosa to travel abroad.

A hearing was held in the Islamabad High Court on the petition to withdraw the name of senior advocate Latif Khosa from Exit Control List (ECL).

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard the plea of Latif Khosa. Advocate Latif Khosa appeared in the court.

The public prosecutor said that the name is in the ECL, a case is registered, on which the court inquired whether the challan has been submitted. On this lawyer said that the challan has not been submitted yet.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani said that there is a violation of Section 144, what is this 7 ATA, should he be arrested.

Latif Khosa said that he had a flight on January 05 but he was not allowed to go. Now he has to go to Canada tomorrow. The court directed him to give an affidavit in the trial court that he will appear when the court summons him.

The Islamabad High Court allowed Latif Khosa to go abroad and adjourned the hearing.

PTI leader Shibli Faraz resigns as member of JCP

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) leader Shibli Faraz on Wednesday resigned as a member of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP), after stepping down by Omar Ayub, leader of the opposition in the National Assembly.

Leader of PTI and leader of opposition in the Senate Shibli Faraz also resigned from the membership of the JCP while Senator Ali Zafar will now represent party in the Judicial Commission.

Umar Ayub and Shibli Faraz have resigned from the JCP the instructions of founder PTI.

Two days ago PTI nominated Barrister GoharAli  Khan from National Assembly and Ali Zafar from Senator for Judicial Commission.

Earlier, Leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Umar Ayub has resigned from the membership of Judicial Commission of Pakistan.

Umar Ayub has submitted his resignation to the Speaker National Assembly and has nominated Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar Ali Khan as a member of the JCP in his place.

Umar Ayub said that he has decided to resign from the Judicial Commission due to the cases filed against him.

According to Umar Ayub, the current legal challenges are a hindrance to the effective performance of the JCP.

It is in the interest of the organization that “I nominate someone else in my place who can give full attention to this important role”.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader Azam Swati rearrested after being released from Attock jail.

Former federal minister, Azam Swati was re-arrested by the police as soon as he was released from Attock Jail.

According to the police, Azam Swati was arrested from outside Attock Jail. Taxila and Hassan Abdal police stations have registered cases against the former minister and other leaders.

It should be noted that Azam Swati was arrested from Islamabad during the protest last month and later transferred to Attock Jail.

Anti-Terrorism and District Court of Islamabad granted bail to Azam Swati in 8 different cases and ordered his release.

PTI leader Sania Nishtar resigns as Senator

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sania Nishtar has resigned from the Senate seat.

Sources say that Sania Nishtar’s resignation has been received by the Senate Secretariat, but the reasons for Sania Nishtar’s resignation from the Senate are yet to be known.

It should be remembered that Sania Nishtar was elected as a member of the Senate on a PTI ticket in 2021.

Sania Nishtar has also been Special Assistant for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety to the Prime Minister of Pakistan during the PTI regime.

PTI leader Zartaj Gul’s name removed from PCL

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Couert (IH) has ordered removal of former federal minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI) leader Zartaj Gul’s name from the passport control list(PCL).

A hearing was held in the Islamabad High Court on the petition to remove the name of Member National Assembly Zartaraj Gul from PCL.

Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri heard the case, leader PTI’s lawyer Advocate Tariq Usman appeared in the court.

During the hearing, the court was informed that Zartaj Gul’s name has been removed from the passport control list. The Immigration and Passport Department submitted the report to the Islamabad High Court.

The report said that there is no restriction on the PTI leader to go abroad and there is no restriction on him to get a new passport, the court is requested to dispose of this petition.

It may be recalled that Zartaj Gul’s name was included in the PCL due to the Dera Ghazi Khan case at the request of the Home Department of Punjab, after which he approached the court through his lawyer, Advocate Usman Tariq.

LHC orders immediate release of PTI’s Zartaj Gul

MULTAN: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Multan Bench ordered the release of former federal minister and PTI leader Zartaj Gul.

Lahore High Court Multan Bench Justice Muhammad Waheed Khan heard the petition filed against Zartaj Gul’s detention, in which the petitioner’s lawyer appeared in the court.

After hearing the arguments of the lawyers, Justice Muhammad Waheed Khan ordered the immediate termination of Zartaj Gul’s detention and ordered his release.

Zartaj Gul was taken into custody by Dera Ghazi Khan in view of Tehreek-e-Insaf’s protest and a petition was filed in the court by her husband against her detention.

Zartaj Gul lawyer had claimed that she was arrested from her residence and subsequently transferred to Central Jail Dera Ghazi Khan under Section 3 of the MPO (Maintenance of Public Order).

IHC stops law enforcers to arrest Salman Akram Raja till tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court(IHC) has restrained law enforcers Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf leader Salman Akram Raja from being arrested in any case till tomorrow.

Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb heard the petition of Salman Akram Raja and issued notice to all the parties including the Home Secretary and sought their response.

The court sought the records of all the cases registered against the PTI leader and removed the objections to his plea.

The petitioner said that an attempt was made to arrest Salman Akram Raja yesterday in Lahore, he is afraid of arrest and should be given protective bail.

The lawyer said that “We do not know in which case he was being arrested, so the details should be sought”.

On this, Justice Miangul Hass Aurangzeb remarked that the details of the cases can be sought only through the Interior Secretary. The court can stop the arrest, but the execution will be limited to Islamabad only.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till tomorrow.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) stopped the law enforcers from arresting of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat without permission in any case.

Islamabad High Court Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz issued a written order on the request of Sher Afazl Marwat, in which the court has stopped the PTI leader from being arrested without permission in any case.

The court issued notices to the Interior Secretary, Inspector General(IG) Islamabad, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab and Federal Investigation Agency(FIA).

While seeking details of the cases against Sher Afzal Marwat, while ordering the parties to submit their comments on the application of Sher Afzal Marwat.

According to the court order, according to the petitioner, Sher Afzal Marwat is afraid of being arrested in a secret case, he should not be arrested in any case without the permission of the court.

ISLAMABAD: A local court on Tuesday confirmed the bail of Pakistan Tehreek Insaf’s leader Azam Khan Swati in a case pertaining to violation of section-144.

A district and session judge Islamabad heard the case and approved the bail of accused against surety bonds worth Rs 5,000.

During hearing, the defence lawyer Ali Bokhari Advocate said that his client was arrested in this case and very next day he was granted post arrest bail. But the same was cancelled due to his non appearance and then he was declared absconder, he added.

After hearing arguments, the court confirmed the bail.

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI) has challenged the transfers and postings by the caretaker government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Peshawar High Court(PHC).

PTI leader Asad Qaiser filed a petition in the Peshawar High Court on the matter of transfers and postings on behalf of the caretaker government.

Barrister Gohar Ali Khan filed a plea on behalf of Asad Qaiser, in which he stated that the transfers and postings by the caretaker government is illegal, which will affect the conduct of transparent elections.

In the petition on behalf of the leader PTI, it was submitted that transfers and postings of the bureaucracy by the caretaker government are against the election rules, the responsibility of the caretaker government is to conduct transparent elections.

In the petition filed in Peshawar High Court, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan stated that Supreme Court has also issued orders in this context many times. It is requested that the transfers and postings of the caretaker government should be declared null and void.

Former speaker national assembly Asad Qaiser has made the provincial government, election commission, and department administration parties in the petition.

Talking to the media outside the court, PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Spokesperson Shaukat Yousafzai and Barrister Gohar Khan said that the caretaker government is misusing its power. They said that the caretaker government comes to conduct elections.

Shaukat Yousafzai said that the caretaker chief minister has been taken hostage which will affect the holding of transparent elections in the province. He said there is a constant violation of the constitution.
