KP CM announces bounties on miscreants to restore peace in Kurram

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur has said that bounties have been announced on the heads of certain miscreants to eliminate unrest in district Kurram.

Talking to the media, Gandapur emphasized that the government has taken serious measures to restore peace in Kurram and will deal with those disrupting stability with an iron hand.

He highlighted that bunkers, which were a major obstacle to peace in Kurram, are being demolished daily. “There are still a few troublemakers, and we have set bounties on them to eradicate the problem,” he added.

The CM also mentioned that tribal jirgas have played a crucial role in resolving disputes.

“The challenges are significant, but we are fully prepared to tackle them. Through jirgas, we have addressed major issues in Kurram, a region where conflicts have surfaced repeatedly over the past 100 years,” he said.

Gandapur confirmed that four major consignments of food rations have already been delivered to Kurram to support the local population.

On the other hand, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has formed Committees to restore peace deal in Kurram District.

According to sources, committees have been constituted for the implementation of the Kurram Peace Agreement, which includes 14, 14 members from both sides, while all the tribes have been represented in the committees.

The jirga said that Munir Bangash, a member of the jirga, said both group was present in the Jirga held a day ago while second session is taking place. He hoped that in a good environment the jirga will move forward.

PESHAWAR:  Founder Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf(PTI) removed Ali Amin Gandapur from the provincial presidency of the party and appointed Junaid Akbar as party president.

Imran Khan has withdrawn the party’s provincial presidency from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur and has now appointed Junaid Akbar as the new provincial president of the party.

Founder PTI has also directed the party’s Secretary General Salman Akram Raja to issue a notification for the appointment of Junaid Akbar.

In addition, Imran Khan has directed Salman Akram Raja to consult for the formation of a party in Punjab.

In this regard, Salman Akram Raja said that Ali Amin himself wanted him not to retain the party presidency, the founder of PTI has asked Ali Amin to focus on the issues of terrorism and governance in the province.

Earlier,  Junaid Akbar, a member of the Pakistan Tehreek -e -Insaf, was elected chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament.

A meeting was held for the nomination of the Chairman Public Accounts Committee, which was attended by the members.

Opposition Leader Omar Ayoub Khan proposed the name of Junaid Akbar for the Chairman Committee, after which he was elected unopposed chairman.

According to the statement, Riaz Fatyana, Aamir Dogar, Wajiha Qamar, Sardar Yousuf Zaman and others supported Junaid Akbar.

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has dispatched another shipment of 1500 kg of medicines to Upper Kurram via helicopter, stated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Friday.

The CM emphasized his personal supervision of all relief activities in Kurram, ensuring that essential supplies were promptly delivered according to the needs of the affected areas.

A total of 1,500 kilograms of medicines were being sent to Parachinar via helicopter, he announced, with the shipment handed over to the Medical Superintendent of Parachinar.

The consignment included antibiotics, syrups, painkillers, and medicines specifically for children, ensuring comprehensive medical aid to the region.

CM Gandapur further assured that until ground access to Kurram was restored, medicines and other essential supplies would continue to be delivered via the Chief Minister’s helicopter.

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has extended the protective bail of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur by 3 weeks.

Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Waqar Ahmed heard the petition filed for protective bail and case details of Ali Amin Gandapur.

While giving arguments in the court, Advocate General KP said that Chief Minister Ali Amin has gone for a negotiation meeting under the chairmanship of Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq. He could not appear hence the exemption petition was filed.

After the hearing, the Peshawar High Court extended the security bail of the Chief Minister for 3 weeks and ordered Ali Amin Gandapur not to be arrested in the listed cases.

Later, the court adjourned further hearing of the case till February 11.

ISLAMABAD: The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad has upheld the non-bailable arrest warrant of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in the audio leak case.

The audio leak case against Chief Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur was heard in the District Sessions Court Islamabad during which Ali Amin and his lawyer did not appear in the court.

The court upheld the non-bailable arrest warrant of Chief Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur while canceling the non-bailable arrest warrant of co-accused Asad Farooq when he appeared in the court.

Later, the District and Sessions Court adjourned further hearing of the case till January 25.

It should be noted that the alleged audio of Ali Amin Gandapur with a person regarding Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf’s long march in 2022 was leaked in which Ali Amin Gandapur is asking how many guns there are, to which the other person says a lot.

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court(PHC) suspended the November 20 notice sent by the Election Commission of Pakistan to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

Justice S.M Attique Shah and Justice Faheem Wali of Peshawar High Court heard the petition of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur against the notice of the ECP.

The petitioner’s lawyer said that the Election Commission had issued a notice to Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur regarding assets, earlier the ECP had issued a similar notice which was suspended by the court.

Justice S.M Attique Shah said that once the court suspended the notice, then how can the Election Commission send the notice again. The lawyer should have filed a contempt of court petition.

The petitioner’s counsel said that there is a difference between the old notice and the present notice.

The court suspended the notice issued by the Election Commission to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on November 20, restrained the ECP from taking action against the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and sought a reply from the commission.

RAWALPINDI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) has suspended the non-bailable arrest warrant of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur.

Rawalpindi’s Anti-Terrorism Court has suspended the ongoing arrest warrant in the case filed against Hasan Abdal of Ali Amin Gandapur.

Ali Amin Gandapur’s lawyer Muhammad Faisal Malik filed an application to suspend the arrest warrant, stating that the Peshawar High Court has granted bail in all cases of Ali Amin Gandapur.

Ali Amin Gandapur’s lawyer submitted the order of the Peshawar High Court in the court, after which the court suspended the non-bailable arrest warrant of Ali Amin Gandapur.

The anti-terrorism court also canceled the process of declaring Ali Amin Gandapur as proclaimed offender (PO).

Second round of PTI-govt dialogue to be held today

ISLAMABAD: The second round of talks between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf(PTI) will be held today(Thursday).

A closed-door meeting chaired by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq will be held at Parliament House at 3:30 pm today.

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur will also join today’s talks, Tehreek-e-Insaf will present its charter of demand.

According to sources, PTI will raise the issue of the release of the founding chairman and the release of other prisoners.

Sources say that PTI will demand a judicial commission to investigate the incidents of May 9 and November 26.

On the other hand, the government will implement its plan in the light of the Charter of Demand.

ISLAMABAD: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur approached the Islamabad High Court against D-Chowk protest case.

Chief Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur has filed an petition in the Islamabad High Court challenge the case registered against him at Secretariat police station after PTI protest.

In the petition, it has been decided that the provisions of terrorism should be removed from the case registered on November 26 on the D Chowk protest or the proceedings on the FIR should be stopped.

It has been said in the petition that if the constitutional right to protest was exercised, the police registered a case of terrorism, as a final relief, the provisions of terrorism should be removed from the case registered in the Secretariat police station.

It should be noted that Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf had staged protest in Islamabad on November 26, after which cases were registered against other leaders of PTI including Ali Amin and Bushra Bibi.

PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, has expressed deep sorrow over target killing of Sardar Saqlain Khan Gandapur, a cousin of KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in Dera Ismail Khan.

The deceased was the son of Sardar Ismail Khan Gandapur and brother of former provincial assembly candidate Sardar Faridun Khan Gandapur.

In his condolence message, the Governor condemned the incident, stating that the target killing of Sardar Saqlain in a shooting incident was highly alarming and warrants a thorough investigation.

He extended his sympathies to the bereaved family, praying for the departed soul’s eternal peace.

He also prayed for strength and patience for the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude.

Kundi called for an investigation into the incident to bring those responsible to justice.
