LAHORE: Caretaker Punjab Government has decided to constitute a commission to probe Imran Khan’s murder attack allegations.

In his Twitter message, Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi stated that the Punjab government has decided to constitute a commission to probe alleged murder attack allegations on behalf of Imran Khan.

Caretaker CM Mohsin Naqvi further emphasized that government want to ensure that a comprehensive investigation of such grave accusations should be undertaken.

Mohsin Naqvi asserted that strict action will be taken under any circumstance.

Lahore administration grants permission to PTI to hold rally

LAHORE: On the direction of Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi district administration met with the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf(PTI) leaders.

It was informed through a source that the district administration granted permission to PTI to hold a public rally.

There will be no permission to make speeches against the judiciary and the institutions.

Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) remains undeterred and announced to hold an election rally again tomorrow (Monday) after the scheduled rally on Sunday was called off due to the ban on public gatherings.

The rally will be held from Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence to Data Darbar on Monday, March 13 at 2 PM.

LAHORE: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) imposed banned on coverage of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally.

PEMRA issued a notification on Wednesday and imposed a ban on the PTI election rallies on all satellite TV channels with immediate effects.

In his Twitter message, Senior leader of PTI and former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry said, “Media has been banned to cover police brutality on protestors, Punjab is under East India Company and Mohsin Naqvi new Gen Dair of Punjab.”

Earlier, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) imposed a ban on broadcasting ‘live and recorded’ speeches and press conferences of former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on all satellite TV channels with immediate effect.

LAHORE: Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi chaired a meeting at CM Office to review Spring Festival arrangements.

A detailed briefing about Spring Festival arrangements and programmes in Lahore and Faisalabad was given to the chair. It was proposed to hold Spring Festival celebrations in Lahore from 5th to 12th March and in Faisalabad from 4th to 12th March.

The Spring Festival celebrations comprise sports, culture, tourism, music, bird and pet show as well as fireworks. Marathon race and cycling competitions will also be held in Lahore and Faisalabad.

Children, women, differently-abled persons and athletes will participate in the marathon race competition. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Sahir Ali Bagha and other famous singers will present a musical show. Mehfil-e- Sama will also be held in Lahore and Faisalabad.

The Spring Festival celebrations will be held in the Iqbal Stadium of Faisalabad and University of Agriculture. Players of Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan will participate in the sports events at GC University Faisalabad. A floral and Chinioti furniture exhibition will also be held.

Special celebrations in connection with International Women’s Day will be held and women Mushaira will also be held. Horse dance, camel dance, cow, buffalo milk giving competitions will be held and a heavy bike show will also be held in Faisalabad. A laser light and sound show under the auspices of Walled City Authority will be held in Lahore.

Charming cultural floats will be made in the Carnival at Faisalabad. Canals will be decorated in Lahore, Faisalabad and lighting will also be displayed. More than 7 thousand students will participate in the special torchlight march at Government College University Lahore. Food festivals will also be installed in the Spring Festival.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the police office in Karachi.

Taking strict notice of the attack, the prime minister asked for a report on the incident. He appreciated the police and security forces for their effective action against the terrorists.

He instructed Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan to extend full cooperation of the federal government in the clean up operation against the terrorists.

He underlined the need for collective action and full force of the state to root out the menace of terrorism.

He said the terrorists had once again targeted Karachi but this kind of cowardly acts could not weaken resolve of police and the law enforcement agencies.

“The whole nation stood with police and security institutions,” he said and prayed for the early recovery of the injured.

On the other hand, Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi has strongly condemned terrorists attack on the office of Karachi Police Chief.

Mohsin Naqvi paid rich tributes to the Police, Rangers and Pakistan Army for foiling nefarious designs of the terrorists adding that he salutes the brave sons of sacred homeland to counter the attack of terrorists.

Mohsin Naqvi remarked that the police and law enforcement agencies bravely foiled nefarious designs of the terrorists. Caretaker CM stated that the brave soldiers boldly countered the terrorists adding that the brave soldiers who countered the attack of the terrorists are heroes of the nation.

GUJRAT: Punjab Police conducted a raid at the house of former chief minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in the wee hours of Wednesday.

According to sources, a heavy contingent of Punjab Police has raided the residence of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi’s house in Gujrat.

In this regard, the eyewitnesses said that law enforcement agencies(LEA) have raided the residence of former federal minister Chaudhry Moonis Elahi and former chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.

A heavy contingent of police was present at the residence of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in Kunjah and dozens of vehicles and hundreds of personnel cordoned off the residence while police vehicles were patrolling around and outside the residence.

Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi while talking to Bol News has said that the Punjab government is taking revenge and full vindictive action is being taken against family members.

He said that “We will approach the court against the Punjab government’s action.”

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) moved Supreme Court against the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision to appoint Mohsin Naqvi as the caretaker chief minister of Punjab.

The petition was filed by Secretary General Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Asad Umar in the supreme court.

The PTI lawyer requested the court to stop Mohsin Naqvi from working as caretaker chief minister.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf also challenged the notification of making Raja Riaz the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly.

The PTI lawyer requested that the appointment of Election Commission members Babar Hassan Bharwana and Ikramullah Khan should be declared unconstitutional.

The petitioner said Mohsin Naqvi’s notification of appointment as chief minister of Punjab should be declared unconstitutional.

On other hand, Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed requested the Supreme Court of Pakistan to declare the appointment of Mohsin Naqvi unconstitutional.

Sheikh Rasheed filed a petition in the Supreme Court through Sardar Abdul Raziq Advocate.

The petitioner stated that Mohsin Naqvi emerged as an anti-opposition and government helper. He said Mohsin Naqvi is the main character of the operation to topple the PTI government.

Sheikh Rasheed’s lawyer said in the presence of Mohsin Naqvi, clean and transparent elections cannot be held in Punjab.

MULTAN: Vice Chairman Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Wednesday said the controversial appointment in Punjab and arrest of PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry have shown government intentions.

Addressing a press conference in Multan, former federal minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the caretaker setup is moving ahead under preplanned agenda which makes the election process controversial. He feared more PTI leaders can be arrested in the upcoming days in the country.

He said news of Imran Khan’s arrest has created uncertainty in party leadership and workers. He further said the arrested of former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry is condemnable.

Senior PTI leader said Imran Khan and other party leaders have raised objections to the name of Mohsin Naqvi but he was appointed as Chief Minister of Punjab.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said a 24-hour-long power breakdown put the country in darkness and any untoward situation can occur during a power outage.

He said Caretaker Government has changed Joint Investigation Team (JIT) members which are probing the murderous attack on Imran Khan.

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has banned the transfers, postings and new developments projects across Punjab after caretaker set-up in the province.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) issued instructions to the caretaker set-up in a letter sent to Punjab’s chief secretary, inspector general (IG) and all relevant officials.

A complete ban was imposed on transfers, postings and new development projects across the country, according to the letter issued by the provincial election commissioner.

The ECP also directed the former chief minister Punjab and ministers to return the protocol, government vehicles, residences, hostels and guest houses. As per the ECP’s order, the caretaker set-up will continue performing its routine duties.

Earlier, Mohsin Naqvi took oath as the caretaker Punjab Chief Minister in a ceremony held in Governor House.

Punjab Governor Baligh-ur-Rehman administered oath to Mohsin Naqvi who was nominated by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) as the caretaker Punjab chief minister.
