Indian TV actor Sameer Sharma was found hanging at his residence in Mumbai on Thursday. According to the Mumbai Police, the 44-year-old has committed suicide.

According to Indian media, a security guard at the Malad apartment building where Sharma lived found him dead and alerted the society members. The police have registered a case of accidental death and sent the actor’s body to a hospital for postmortem.

The watchman of the society saw the body and alerted the society members while he was on his round duty during the night.

Looking at the condition of the body the police have suspected that the actor probably died two days ago.

Sharma rose to fame after his role in the TV serial ‘Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke’. Bollywood actors Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan offered their condolences on the actor’s death.

He also had roles as Nitin in Dil Kya Chahta Hai and Krishna Agarwal in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii.

Karachi Rain: Light to heavy rain showers turn weather pleasant

After intense heat in Karachi, the fourth spell of rain lashes parts of Karachi here on Thursday (today), turning the weather pleasant.

Areas including Saddar, Korangi, Landhi, Malir, University Road, Old City Area and Garden East receive light to heavy rainfall.

On the other hand, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in Sindh, South Punjab and eastern parts of Balochistan from Thursday (today) till Saturday along with a warning of urban flooding for Karachi and Hyderabad.

According to the PMD, a monsoon low pressure from the Bay of Bengal is likely to approach Sindh today in the evening or night.

Widespread rain/wind-thundershowers, with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall, are expected in Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Tharparker, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Tando Allah Yar, Matiyari, Tando Muhammad Khan, Jamshoro, Dadu and Shaheed Benazirabad from today till the next three days.

Mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country during the next 12 hours, while rain-wind-thundershowers are expected in South Punjab, Sindh and eastern Balochistan.

Pakistan Railways appoints first female Station Manager of Lahore

Pakistan Railways appoints the first female officer as station manager at Lahore, a source said on Thursday.

The railway authorities have appointed Assistant Transport Officer (ATO) Lahore Syeda Marzia Al-Zahra as the station manager of Lahore railway station.

According to sources, the authorities withdrew the additional charge of station manager Lahore from station master Lahore Cantt Younis Bhatti.

However, Syeda Marzia has become the first female station manager of Pakistan Railways, Railway sources said.

On the other hand, the Railway Sampars Union has called for a protest against the appointment of CSP officer in the post of the station manager.

Furthermore, Union Central Chairman Muhammad Irfan, while expressing reservations over the appointment, said that if the notification not cancelled, the union would protest.
