ISLAMABAD: The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad annulled the trial court’s order declaring Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur as a proclaimed offender over the recovery of arms and liquor.
A case of recovery of arms and liquor has been registered against Chief Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur in Bharakahu Police Station.
Sessions Judge Shahrukh Arjumand heard the review application of Ali Amin Gandapur, in which Ali Amin Gandapur’s lawyer filed a request for exemption from the attendance of his client, which was accepted by the court.
The petitioner’s counsel told the court that the judicial magistrate had declared Ali Amin Gandapur proclaimed offender for persistent non-appearance, but Ali Amin had not received the notice.
The Sessions Court ordered the petitioner to deposit a bond of Rs 50,000 and give a local surety.
The court annulled the order of the trial court declaring Ali Amin Gandapur as the proclaimed offender sent the case back to the trial court and adjourned the hearing till March 14.

LAHORE: Chairman Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) has challenged the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision to deny them reserved seats in the Punjab Assembly in the Lahore High Court.
In the petition filed by the Chairman Sunni Ittehad Council, the Election Commission of Pakistan has been made a party, in which it has been said that the ECP is neither a tribunal nor a court.
In the petition, the stand was taken that the Sunni Ittehad Council should get reserved seats according to the proportion of seats in the Punjab Assembly, it does not matter whether the Sunni Ittehad Council contested the election or not.
In the application of Sahibzada Hamid Raza, it is also said that the action of the ECP is equivalent to amending the Constitution, the decision of the ECP is beyond its powers.
It should be remembered that a few days ago, the Election Commission Pakistan (ECP) rejected the Sunni Ittehad Council’s request for specific seats by four to one.
The party lost 77 reserved seats due to the rejection of the Sunni Ittehad Council’s request and these seats went to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz(PML-N), Pakistan People’s Party, Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam(JUI).

The president made this appointment of the caretaker Balochistan High Court chief justice in accordance with the Article 196 of the Constitution.
President Alvi also appointed senior most judge Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmed Khan as Chief Justice of Lahore High Court(LHC), in accordance with the Article 175 (A) of the Constitution.

RAWALPINDI: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and Rawalpindi Police successfully thwarted a massive disaster at Adiala jail and arrested three terrorists.
Rawalpindi Police has claimed that the Adiala Jail has been saved from a major disaster by the joint action of the Police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).
During the joint operation, three foreign terrorists were arrested and a map of Adiala Jail, automatic weapons and a huge amount of ammunition were recovered from their custody.
City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Khalid Hamdani said that Rawalpindi Police and CTD conducted a joint operation in which three terrorists were arrested. The arrested three terrorists belong to Afghanistan, heavy weapons and ammunition have also been recovered from the possession of the terrorists.
CPO Rawalpindi said that a map of Adiala jail, hand grenades, ISDs and automatic weapons have been recovered from the terrorists.
He said that the arrested accused are being further investigated while the police and other law enforcement agencies have started a search operation around the Adiala Jail.

RAWALPINDI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered over 273 kg drug and arrested six drug peddlers in eight operation across the country.
ANF spokesman said 3.5 kg Ice drug was recovered from a parcel booked for Bangladesh at the courier office in Karachi.
In another operation, 3 kg hashish was recovered from a parcel sent from Karachi to Peshawar.
416 grams heroin was recovered from the possession of a passenger going to Sharjah at Peshawar Airport.
770 liters of hydrochloric acid was recovered from Chaman area while 108 kg hashish and 73 kg opium were recovered from Tarnol, Rawalpindi and two accused were netted during the operation.
33.6 kg hashish was recovered from two accused rounded up in Othal Lasbela.
ANF in an operation managed to recover 32 kg heroin from Lakpas Mustang area. Over 19 kg hashish was recovered from the possession of an accused in Jamshoro Toll Plaza, Hyderabad.
Separate cases under the Anti-Narcotics Act have been registered against the arrested accused and further investigations are under process.
