In 2024, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will introduce a streamlined process for acquiring work permits and residency visas for private sector employees, particularly in Dubai.

The innovative “Work Bundle” platform integrates services from multiple government departments to expedite the issuance of permits and visas.

Key entities involved in this initiative include the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, and Dubai Health.

This project simplifies procedures for private companies by providing a unified platform for all employment-related services, such as renewal, cancellation, medical examinations, and fingerprinting.

The process has been significantly streamlined, reducing the required steps from 15 to just 5 and the necessary documents from 16 to 5.

Moreover, the time frame for obtaining work permits and residency visas has been dramatically shortened from 30 working days to only 5 working days.

This initiative reflects the UAE government’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment and attracting skilled talent to contribute to the country’s growth and development.
