ISLAMABAD: A 6-member group of Nigerians involved in drug supply in educational institutions of Islamabad was arrested.

According to Anti-Narcotics Force(ANF) officials, a Nigerian national was arrested during the operation in Islamabad.

Officials say that during the raids to identify the accused, 5 more Nigerians were arrested near the hotel in Sector G-13. The flat of the accused was raided where 135 grams of cocaine and 3.2 kilograms of ice were recovered.

According to officials, the accused have confessed to supplying drugs to students in hostels and educational institutions.

ANF ​​officials say that a large number of foreign nationals arrested in drug trafficking in Pakistan this year are from African countries, drug smugglers have been adopting new and dangerous methods for smuggling.

KARACHI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Wednesday recovered more than 700 kilograms of Ice from a container booked for Malaysia by carrying out a major operation on a tip-off at the South Asia Pakistan Terminal in Karachi.

According to the authorities, the exported methamphetamine (Ice) was being smuggled with bags of calcium carbonate. During a tip-off container search, 854 bags of calcium carbonate were searched, of which 28 bags were found to contain methamphetamine (Ice).

According to ANF officials, the container was booked by a private company based in Karachi for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. An accused resident of Karachi, who booked the container, has been arrested, while the process of investigation is going on with the accused to arrest the other accused.

According to ANF sources, the value of the Ice seized from the South Asia Pakistan Terminal is worth millions of rupees in the international market.

On the other hand, an anti-narcotics court of Islamabad has sentenced the 3-member gang, including the husband and wife, to a total of 41 years in prison and a fine of millions of rupees.

Last year, ANF recovered 71.5 kg of opium from Mubasher Hussain, Rehman Iqbal and Zahida.

According to Prosecutor Fahad Malik, opium was recovered from the possession of a 3-member group, the vehicle in which the group was smuggling drugs was also seized.

Prosecutor Fahad Malik said that the laboratory report also came positive and the accused confessed to drug trafficking.

Anti-Narcotics Court Judge Raja Jawad Abbas sentenced the 3-member gang to a total of 41 years in prison and a fine of Rs 1.2 million.

SC seeks report from ANF over sale of drugs in educational institutions

ISLAMABAD: The Constitutional Bench of Supreme Court sought a written response from the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and all the provinces on the petition against the sale of drugs in educational institutions.

A five-member Constitutional Bench headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan heard a petition against the sale of drugs in educational institutions across the country.

During the hearing, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar asked what steps have been taken so far to prevent drugs.

Justice Musarrat Hilali said that establish a spying system under the ANF informant system in educational institutions. She remarked that most drugs are supplied in prisons.

Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar said that it has been written in the report regarding Balochistan that there is zero use of heroin.

Justice Musarrat Hilali said most affected province is Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in term of drug use and inquired that why KP authorities silent on this issue is.

Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail said drug is real issue for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

The Constitutional Bench while seeking a written reply from ANF and all the provinces ordered that a complete mechanism should be provided in the written reply to deal with drug peddling in educational institutions.

KARACHI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested a Brazilian woman with cocaine during a raid at Jinnah International Airport Karachi.

During raid, ANF recovered 1.396 kg of cocaine worth Rs 13.9 million from a Brazilian woman who arrived at Karachi Airport through a private airline.

According to ANF, the woman had hidden the drug in a plastic shopper, ANF has registered a case against the accused under the Anti-Narcotics Act.

Earlier, a passenger named Iqbal Hussain on a flight from Peshawar Airport to Jeddah was arrested for having 1,210 kg of drugs in his luggage.

The authorities said that the drug was skillfully hidden by the passenger in the inner layers of bags and sweets respectively.

However, the ANF personnel foiled the smuggling attempt by recovering a total of 2.376 kg of ice after searching the luggage of the two passengers.

According to the ANF spokesperson, one kilogram of heroin and 200 grams of hashish were recovered from a female drug dealer near a major university in Islamabad.

The spokesman said that 495 grams of ice was recovered from the accused near a university in Multan. The arrested accused have confessed to selling drugs to students of educational institutions.

RAWALPINDI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered 344 kg drugs in four operations conducted in different areas of the country.

According to an ANF  spokesman, about 316.7 kg of ice and 17.2 kg of opium were recovered from Nokundi Chagai.

Around 6 kg of hashish was recovered from a motorcycle rider intercepted near Sohrab Goth town in Karachi.

In the third operation, 2.9 kg of hashish was recovered from an accused rounded up near Qayyumabad in Karachi.

In the fourth operation, 1 kg of ice was recovered from the possession of an accused arrested on DG Khan Road in Multan.

Cases have been registered against the arrested accused under the Anti-Narcotics Act.

On the other hand, responding to the special directives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Police apprehended 89 drug-peddlers under a special “Nasha Ab Nahi” movement to eradicate narcotics and keep the youngsters safe from the curse of drugs.

ISLAMABAD: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in a crackdown on drug supply in educational institutions of twin cities, seized 2.4 kg hashish from an accused who was a student of BS Computer Science in a local university.

The accused was arrested with drugs near Waheedabad Colony on Lahtrar Road. During investigation, the accused confessed to supplying drugs in different hostels.

Drug use and sale in educational institutions are a hindrance to educational attainment and the agency is vigilant and always in the search of those involved in this heinous crime, said the press release.

There are also threats to the future of youth. It is unfortunate that students are involved in drug peddling, said the note adding that the ANF continues its relentless efforts in the fight against drug trafficking.

ANF recovered 745 grams of ice from a passenger going to Doha at Peshawar Airport and 200 grams of cocaine was recovered from the parcel sent to Karachi at the cargo office in Lahore while 150 kg of heroin and 166 kg of morphine were recovered from Chaman 110 kg of heroin and 52 kg of morphine were recovered from Yaro Pishin, 100 kg hashish recovered from RCD Road Lasbela, 70 kg hashish and 6.2 kg opium were recovered from two suspects in Pindi Bhattian, Hafizabad, 50.4 kg hashish was recovered from the accused in North Bypass Karachi, 30 kg hashish was recovered from two suspects near Burhan Interchange Attock and 11 kg hashish recovered from Orakzai.

129 kg hashish was recovered from RCD Road Lasbela and 24 kg opium, 50 kg heroin, and 5 kg Ice drug were recovered from Winder Hub area. 19 kg hashish and 6 kg opium were recovered from an accused on G.T Road Peshawar.

The spokesman informed that 8.4 kg opium and 6 kg hashish were recovered from the possession of an accused held near Mandra Toll Plaza Rawalpindi. In 11th operation, 10 kg hashish was recovered from a drug smuggler arrested near Jamshoro toll plaza and in 12th operation, 6 kg hashish was recovered from Zakhakhel Khyber area.

3.6 kg hashish was recovered from an accused rounded up in Muzaffargarh, Multan and 3 kg Ice was recovered from the possession of two suspects netted in Vehari Chowk, Multan. In 15th operation, 1 kg heroin and 2 kg hashish were recovered from an accused near Sher Shah Toll Plaza, Multan.

QUETTA: The Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) seized hashish worth more than Rs 8 billion during a raid condcuted in Pasni district of Balochistan.

According to the spokesman of Pakistan Coast Guards, more than 1700 kg of hashish was recovered from Pasni.

The spokesperson of the Coast Guards further informed that the drugs were hidden in the mountains of Kulanch area of ​​Pasni.

The value of the seized drugs in the global market is about 29.28 million dollars, which is more than Rs 8 billion Pakistani currency.

ANF seizes 75 kg drugs in six operations

RAWALPINDI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized 75 kg of drugs and arrested four accused in six operations.

ANF spokesman informed that 700 grams of Ice drug was recovered from a passenger’s trolley bag at Bacha Khan International Airport.

The accused was leaving for Doha by flight number QR-601. 60 kg hashish and 2.5 kg Ice were recovered from the Shahdara Lahore area and an accused was arrested during the operation.

A total of 10 kg of hashish was recovered in two separate operations near the Khar border in the Bajaur area. 2.4 kg hashish was recovered from the possession of a motorcycle rider in Peshawar and an accused was arrested. 500 ecstasy tablets were recovered from an accused in Peshawar Mor Rawalpindi.

Cases under the Anti-Narcotics Act have been registered against the arrested accused and further investigations are under process.

RAWALPINDI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested seven drug peddlers and recovered over 209 kg drugs from their possession in seven operations.

ANF Spokesman informed that 1.760 kg Ice was recovered from a parcel booked for Dubai at a courier office in Rawalpindi. 1.2 kg hashish was recovered from a Doha-bound passenger going on Flight No. QR-633 at Islamabad Airport.

115 grams Ice was recovered from a passenger’s luggage at Allama Iqbal International Airport. The accused was leaving for Sharjah by flight number PA-412.

121 kg heroin and 75 kg morphine were recovered from Bostan area of Pishin.

A total of 4 kg hashish was recovered from two suspects in Peshawar while 4 kg hashish was also recovered from two suspects near Customs Chowk Peshawar.

2 kg hashish was recovered from an accused arrested near Board Bazar Peshawar.

RAWALPINDI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested seven drug peddlers and recovered 1,903 kg drug from their possession.

ANF Spokesperson informed that over 3 kg Ice was recovered from a passenger traveling to Jeddah by Flight No. PA-470 at Allama Iqbal Airport.

1 kg heroin recovered from two passengers traveling to Bangkok by Flight No. TG-342 at Jinnah Airport.

In third operation, 52 Ice drug filled capsules were recovered from the stomach of a passenger at Allama Iqbal Airport Lahore. The accused was leaving for Doha by flight number QR-629.

24 Ice-filled capsules were recovered from the passenger’s stomach at Bacha Khan International Airport. The accused was leaving for Sharjah by flight number ER-751.

1500 kg hashish and 200 kg heroin were recovered from a house in Pishin while 120 kg hashish and 9.6 kg opium were recovered from an abandoned vehicle near Fairozwala stop Lahore.

33.6 kg hashish and 26 kg opium were recovered from a vehicle near Ravi Motorway Toll Plaza Lahore while two accused were arrested.

In the eighth operation, 10 kg hashish was recovered from Zakhakhel area of Khyber.
