Islamabad Torture Case: Court Extends Physical Remand Of Usman Mirza

Usman Mirza pleads not guilty in couple sexual harassment case

A district and session court in Islamabad has on Saturday lengthened the remand of Usman Mirza and other accomplices in a case related to sexual harassment and torture of a couple.

According to the details, the court extended the remand of four suspects including Usman Mirza, Idris Qayyum Butt, Farhan and Atta ur Rehman by three days and directed the police to give them before the court on July 20.

During the proceedings, the counsel of the suspect Farhan and Atta ur Rehman queried bail for their clients and said that they were neither given new clothes nor allowed to meet the family.

“These two have nothing to do with the case,” he said.

However, the counsel representing the couple said that suspects admitted their presence at the location and could be heard approaching to harass the girl.

“The amount snatched and received from the couple has also been found from the residence of Idris,” he said.

The prime suspect Usman Mirza during the court hearing shared that a suspect named Rehan shot the entire episode and denied that he received money from the couple.

“I am a property and automobile dealer and don’t need such petty money,” he said while denying the accusation.

Usman Mirza Received Rs1,125,000 From The Tortured Couple After Blackmailing Them

Usman Mirza and his other accomplices had received over Rs1.1 million from the couple after filming them and stripping the woman and inappropriately touching her.

A lawyer Hasan Javed had also appeared before the court saying that he would now be representing the couple in the entire episode after they decided to pursue the case on their own.

The police sought an extension in the physical remand of the suspects after the court was informed that they have previously spent six days in the physical remand.

“Usman Mirza and accomplices have spent six days in remand and police have recovered two mobile phones and a pistol from the prime suspect’s custody,” the government lawyer said.
