Manisha Koirala, who made her Bollywood debut in Subhash Ghai’s Saudagar (1991), was often compared to Madhuri Dixit, with many calling her a lookalike of the legendary actress.

In a candid interview with ANI, Manisha shared her thoughts on this early comparison, saying, “Honestly, those days, I wasn’t flattered. But today, I am. Because she is so beautiful. She is so graceful. And not only that, she is a wonderful woman. As a person, I just love her. And it was quite an honour.”

Early in her career, Manisha was a self-described “rebel,” wanting to carve her own path. However, her perspective on Madhuri changed when they worked together in Lajja (2001). “By then, I had also matured. My eyes had opened and I was seeing, my goodness, such a humble person. Super talented and so beautiful,” she said.

Manisha also revealed that Madhuri played a crucial role in her Bollywood debut. “She had recommended my name… She had actually told Subhash Ji that I’ve seen one girl, ‘You should see her for Saudagar’,” she shared.

Reflecting on her debut, Manisha said, “Saudagar was a good experience. I was too young, too naive… I was very scared. I wanted to keep everybody at a distance.”

Manisha’s recent project, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, marked her return to the screen, while Madhuri continues to shine in films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.

Tamannaah said in an interview that she used to idolize actresses like Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi when she was little. “All I knew was that I wanted to be like them.” “I didn’t have a plan, and I didn’t know how I was going to get there, but I had this very strong desire to be a performer, and being a performer was not something I wanted to be because ‘oh it’s cool’ or ‘these amazing stars are doing it,” she explained.

She went on to say that even as a child, she would tell friends at birthday parties that she wanted to perform alone. She would attend every occasion, whether it was a birthday party or an audition, and give her all. She also recalled her first ad advertisement appearing during her board test, forcing her to make a decision. “It came up in my board exam, and I had the choice of leading that ad film or giving my boards.” I had to make a decision. “Of course, I chose to do both because why wouldn’t I?” she explained.

Tamannaah was most recently seen in Rajinikanth’s film ‘Jailer,’ which did well at the box office. She was also seen in the television series Aakhri.

Here’s Why Madhuri Dixit Was Fired From A Film

Even the legendary Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit had to confront sexist demands from filmmakers during her storied career. Director Tinnu Anand, who worked with Madhuri in “Shanakht” (1989), recently disclosed how she was fired from a film after refusing to perform a scene that required her to remove her blouse.

Tinnu Anand recounted the incident, revealing that he had discussed the scene with Madhuri before shooting and she initially agreed to it. The scene involved Amitabh Bachchan’s character being captured by villains, with Madhuri’s character coming forward and saying, “Why are you attacking a man in chains when a woman is in front of you?”

“I had explained the entire sequence to Madhuri Dixit,” recalled the director. “I told her that she would have to remove her blouse, and for the first time, we would see her in her bra. I didn’t want to hide anything behind a haystack or anything because you are offering yourself to help a man who is trying to help you. So it is a very important situation, and I wanted to shoot it on the first day. She agreed.”

However, on the first day of shooting, Madhuri Dixit changed her mind and expressed reservations about the scene. Tinnu Anand, determined to maintain the scene’s integrity, informed her that it had to be done. Madhuri initially refused, leading the director to declare that the shoot would be canceled.

Following this, Madhuri’s secretary contacted Anand and assured him that the actress was willing to perform the scene. She returned five days later and completed it. However, this incident marked the end of their collaboration, as they didn’t work together on any subsequent films.

Her last rites will be performed in Mumbai on Saturday.
Madhuri was born in Mumbai and married Dr Sriram Nene in 1999.

Snehlata Dixit, the mother of Madhuri Dixit, passed away. 90 years old. According to reports, her last rituals would be conducted on Saturday in Mumbai. We are awaiting more information regarding the cause of her passing.

In a joint statement issued by India Today, Madhuri Dixit and her husband Shriram Nene said, “Our beloved Aai (mother), Snehalata, passed away peacefully this morning surrounded by her loved ones.”

Mumbai was Madhuri’s birthplace. With Abodh, she made her acting debut in 1984. In 1999, she wed Dr. Sriram Nene, with whom she had two boys. Shriram Nene had published a touching post on his mother-in-law last month. “My 90-year-old mother-in-law paints,” he tweeted. She can’t see very well because she has macular degeneration. Yet it’s amazing what comes out of her thinking. She is the loveliest, most positive person in the world. We had her paintings placed on mugs to remind us of her talent.”

Madhuri, the youngest of four siblings, discussed her mother in an interview she gave last year. The actor claimed that even when she rose to fame, her family never treated her any differently. Madhuri claimed that because of her upbringing, she was never affected by stardom.
Madhuri had previously told about how her mother Snehlata Dixit’s treatment of her remained the same even after she rose to fame and fortune as an actor. “I mean, even when I was acting in films, my mom used to criticize me if my room was cleaned up and things like that,” Madhuri had said. So that is how I was raised. And I am in that way. Everything is back in the studio when I get home.It’s just a different life when I see my husband and kids. I was never truly lost.

Madhuri honored her “aai” (mother), Snehlata, 90 years old in June with a collection of pictures of the family and a heartfelt Instagram post. Madhuri appeared with her mother and her husband Shriram Nene in the first photo. A single portrait of the late Snehalata was also there. Happy birthday, Aai!” it said in the caption. Dia gave birth to a baby named Avyaan in May 2021. Filming has already started on her upcoming film, Dhak Dhak, in which she co-stars with Taapsee Pannu, Ratna Pathak Shah, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Sanjana Sanghi. The film, which Taapsee Pannu produced and directed, follows the story of a road trip taken by a group of female friends.

In 1999, Madhuri wed Shriram. She moved there and stayed for more than ten years. Ryan was born in 2005, while Arin, the couple’s second son, was born in 2003.

Madhuri was most last spotted at work in Maja Ma. The family-friendly film, directed by Anand Tiwari and written by Sumit Batheja, was set against the festive backdrop of a traditional festival and an iconic, vibrant Indian wedding.

The new dance number Show Me The Thumka from Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s forthcoming movie Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is getting a lot of attention for its choreography and music. Since its publication, their dance moves have become a topic of discussion on social media. Ranbir is the “greatest dancer after Madhuri Dixit,” according to a fan who just tweeted a music clip. Another person replied, “I’m not sure about him being the best but surely a very excellent one,” in response to the question of whether Varun Dhawan makes the cut. Given how much the technique has changed, I doubt anyone in Bollywood dances with as many facial expressions these days. Varun Dhawan perhaps comes close. What do you think?

A Twitter user made a pitch for Shahid by writing, “I obviously disagree with Ranbir, but I also really like Shahid! Presumably the one of them who moves the fastest? Online users have discovered an old video of Madhuri responding to the prediction, and it reveals a lot about the actor.
Madhuri appears in a blue salwar suit in the previous video. “Aap face reading bhi karte hai” (do you also do face reading), she asked a mature woman on a show. Anurag admits that Sanjay Leela Bhansali despised Dev D

He also revealed Sanjay’s reaction to his Dev D (2009) adaptation.
Both films are based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s classic Bengali novel Devdas.

In a recent interview, Anurag Kashyap discussed the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. A few years after the premiere of the director’s Devdas (2002), which starred Shah Rukh Khan, he also discussed Sanjay’s response to his film Dev D (2009). The renowned Bengali novel Devdas by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay is the basis for both movies. However, according to Anurag in a recent interview, Sanjay “hated” his interpretation of Devdas.

Sanjay did not like Dev D, according to Anurag Kashyap, who even said that Dev D had “ruined Chandramukhi and Paro.” In Sanjay’s Devdas, Aishwarya Rai played the role of Paro, Devdas’ childhood friend, while Madhuri Dixit played his confidante Chandramukhi, a courtesan. Mahi Gill portrays Abhay’s childhood sweetheart in Anurag’s contemporary rendition of the Bengali classic, which is set in modern-day Punjab and Delhi and features Chanda (Kalki Koechlin), a sex worker.

Anurag responded, “He (Sanjay Leela Bhansali) despised it,” when asked what Sanjay thought of Dev D in a recent interview with Unfiltered By Samdish. You have damaged Chandramukhi and Paro, he claimed. He mentioned it to Vikram (Vikramaditya Motwane), his assistant and a co-writer on Dev D, rather than to me. Bhansali is an expert. He is a complete freak of genius when it comes to music and dancing. He has now also learned about violence. He displayed violence in Gangubai (Alia Bhatt’s 2022 film Gangubai Kathiawadi). I went and told him, “tu apne limitations se bahar nikla,” since I was so ecstatic about it (you are now coming out of your limitations)

Anurag continued by describing how Sanjay had been angered by a magazine article he had once written about the film Black (2005). Anurag claimed the director of the movie with Rani Mukerji and Amitabh Bachchan believed he was “his adversary.” Black asked Anurag if he liked him, and Anurag said, “I didn’t. I refused to believe it. Sanjay was really unhappy when I wrote about why I didn’t believe it. Since it was personal to him, the work was not intended for publication. Hum dost ho gaye hain, ab wapis. When the ice breaks, it will be mujhe karna pada khud jaa ke (we are friends again after I went and broke the ice with him)… Anurag is an extremely reserved individual.

He has a terrible public presence. I keep reminding him that he should let go of that. He takes his time before he can trust someone. He also manages his personal trauma. He grew up watching the movie business extremely carefully and detested it.

Alaya F and rookie Karan Mehta played the main characters in Anurag Batra’s final movie, Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat. It became available on February 3. The movie saw Anurag and Amit Trivedi, who had previously collaborated on Dev D, return to the romantic musical genre.

Renuka claims she was told to quit her dreams of becoming a heroine

Renuka Shahane played Pooja, the elder sister of Madhuri Dixit’s Nisha.
She made her Bollywood debut in Hum Aapke Hain Koun in 1994.
The family drama is based on Rajshri Productions’ previous hit Nadiya Ke Paar.

Prior to making her Hindi film debut in 1994 with Sooraj Barjatya’s Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Renuka Shahane was already well-known. She appeared in the television program Circus alongside Shah Rukh Khan, and she co-hosted the Doordarshan program Surabhi with Siddharth Kak. In the popular Hindi movie, Renuka portrayed Pooja, the older sister of Madhuri Dixit‘s character Nisha who marries Mohnish Bahl. Salman Khan appears in the family drama, which is based on Rajshri Productions’ earlier smash Nadiya Ke Paar.

In 1992, the actor made her motion picture debut in the Marathi film Hach Sunbaicha Bhau. But Hum Aapke Hain Koun was the film that made her even more well-known. After then, she was frequently cast as the lead characters’ sister, wife, or bhabhi (sister-in-law). But she admitted that when she agreed to play the part of Pooja in the popular movie, she understood exactly what she was doing.

Renuka revealed to Mid-Day in her conversation: “Before accepting the part, Soorajji’s father, Raj babu ji [Rajkumar Barjatya], had advised me. He didn’t have to explain this to me because I was a rookie, but he did: “Once you do this, if you have any desires to become a heroine, you won’t get such opportunities because you would be typecast as someone’s sister or wife. In essence, second lead! You won’t be given the lead.”

Added she, “I was okay with that because I didn’t come with any such goals; instead, I just wanted to have fun and learn on the job. I was awed by his generosity in guiding me.” Renuka also mentioned how frequently in movies, her character was simply referred to as the heroine’s sister without ever having a name. In the 1990s and 2000s, she also accepted more television jobs since she found them to be more rewarding. Even in the Zee TV comedy Mrs. Madhuri Dixit, the actor portrayed the main character.

The previous year, Renuka, who is wed to actor Ashutosh Rana, appeared in Govinda Naam Mera on Disney+ Hotstar. In addition, she was the director of the Hindi film Tribhanga, which debuted on Netflix in 2021, and the 2006 Marathi film Rita. Tribhanga, which starred Kajol, Tanvi Azmi, and Mithila Palkar, focused on the challenging interactions between three generations of women in a household.

In the psychological drama Qala, a young singer trying to gain her mother’s approval while being tormented by her past. Babil Khan, the late Irrfan Khan’s son, made his Bollywood acting debut. According to earlier rumors, Kartik and Shraddha were cast as the stars when filmmaker Murad Khetani purchased the film’s rights. However, current rumors say that Ranveer and Janhvi have been asked to star in the movie.

As per the sources “Initially the plan was to rope in Shraddha Kapoor and Kartik Aaryan. However, Murad Khetani and the team have now decided to approach Janhvi and Ranveer for the project.”

Initially, the makers of the Tezaab remake had approached Ranveer first, and instead of Shraddha, they want Janhvi in the movie, added sources.”

In 1988, Tezaab, starring Anil and Madhuri, was released. The movie and its songs were a huge success.
