ISLAMABAD: The federal government announced decrease of Rs.1 on prices of per liter petrol, which would be now available at Rs 254.63 instead of its sale at Rs 255.63 earlier.

“The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has worked out the consumer prices of petroleum products, based on the price variations in the international market,” said press release issued by finance ministry.

However, the government kept prices of High Speed Diesel (HSD) unchanged at Rs.258.64, the press release added.

According to the notification, the price of LPG’s domestic cylinder has been increased by Rs 43.52.

The notification states that the price of LPG has increased by Rs 3.68 per kg. 11.8kg of LPG domestic cylinder has been Rs 2996. 88.

According to the notification, the price of LPG has been fixed at Rs 253.97.

The notification states that the new LPG pricing has been determined for February 2025.

Govt increases petrol by Rs1, diesel by Rs7 per litre

ISLAMABAD: The government increased the price of Motor Spirit (MS) Petrol by Rs.1 per litre and high speed diesel (HSD) by Rs.7 per litre for the next fortnight starting from February 1st.

The price of MS petrol was fixed at Rs 257.13 per litre as against its existing price of Rs 256.13 per litre, said a press release issued by the Ministry of Finance.

Meanwhile, the price of High-Speed Diesel was increased by Rs.7 per litre as HS- Diesel would be available at Rs 267.95 per litre as compared to its previous price of Rs 260.95.

The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has reviewed and adjusted consumer prices for petroleum products in view of recent fluctuations in the international oil market.

ISLAMABAD: Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced an increase in the price of Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for month of December.

OGRA has issued a notification of LPG price hike for December. According to the notification, the 11.8 kg cylinder of LPG has become expensive by Rs 1.32.

The notification states that the price of a domestic cylinder of LPG has been fixed at Rs 3,079, the new price of LPG for December will be Rs 254.30 per kg.

On the other hand, federal government is expected to revise petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan during the upcoming fortnightly review for December 2024.

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) directed the federal government to submit the mechanism for fixing petroleum, oil and lubricant prices.

Justice Shahid Karim of Lahore High Court heard the petition against the increase in the prices of petroleum products, in which the Assistant Attorney General and the petitioner’s lawyer appeared in the court.

The petitioner’s lawyer said that the increase in the price of petrol has further increased inflation and the government increases the prices of petroleum products without any reason.

During the hearing, the Assistant Attorney General said that the petrol has been increased according to the international market, on this the lawyer for the petitioner said that Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and the government’s position is beyond understanding, the public is not even given solid reasons regarding the increase in petrol.

The court said that the federal government should bring on record how the price of petrol is fixed and the procedure for increasing the prices of petroleum products should be clarified.

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has taken notice of the issue of mixing carbon dioxide in Liquefied petroleum gas(LPG).

The issue of adding carbon dioxide in LPG was taken into consideration in the meeting chaired by Chairman Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) Masroor Khan.

According to the spokesperson of OGRA, there were reports of carbon dioxide being mixed with LPG in Punoaqal, the assistant commissioner of Pano Aqil, conducted raids at 4 places and sealed all the places.

OGRA spokesperson, an FIR has been registered against the people involved in this illegal and dangerous practice, OGRA’s enforcement team has inspected the LPG sites in Pano Aqil.

The authority members, enforcement, legal and LPG teams participated in the meeting.

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Wednesday slashed price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).

As per the notification issued by the OGRA, the LPG rates have been reduced by Rs70 to Rs180 per kilogram. The new prices will be in effect immediately.

According to Chairman Liquefied petroleum gas(LPG) Distributors Irfan Khokhar, the price of LPG in the country has reduced from Rs 250 to Rs 180 per kg.

Chairman LPG Distributors said that the price of LPG has decreased by Rs 60 to 70 per kg.

On the other hand, while addressing the Oil and Gas Conference, Chairman Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) said that there are vast opportunities for investment in LPG in Pakistan and the use of LPG in the country is likely to be very high in the next 5 years.

OGRA bans sale, purchase of substandard LPG cylinders

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has banned the sale and purchase of substandard Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders.

In a statement issued by OGRA, it has been said that action will be taken against unauthorized distributors of marketing companies for selling LPG cylinders and gas.

The notification said that notices have been issued to 313 LPG marketing and 19 cylinder manufacturing companies across the country.

OGRA made the new code of conduct for LPG business and termed LPG refilling in substandard cylinders is illegal and dangerous.

The notification states that only authorized distributors will be able to do LPG business.

According to a notification issued by OGRA, the LPG price would go down by Rs6.45 per kilogram and it would now be sold out at Rs 250.33 per kilogram. The 11.8 kilo domestic cylinder has been reduced by Rs 76. 9.

The price of 11.8 kg LPG domestic cylinder for April has been fixed at Rs 2954.3.

It should be noted that in March domestic LPG cylinder was Rs 3030.12.

PM Shehbaz expresses dismay over increase in gas prices

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his anger over the recent increase in the price of gas and decided to review the performance of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued orders to the Ministry of Energy to complete 16 tasks in one to three months, while also directing them to submit a forensic audit report on the recent increase in gas prices in one month.

The Prime Minister has expressed his anger over the recent increase in the price of gas and has directed to submit a report on gas infrastructure, gas theft, and poor performance in three months.

It has been decided to review the performance of the OGRA and gas companies. It has also been directed to immediately set up an inter-ministerial commission to monitor the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project.

The instructions have been issued to the Power and Petroleum Division to prepare a solution for revolving credit, to submit a plan for developing a new industrial zone to supply surplus electricity, within two weeks.

SNGPL seeks 147% hike in gas prices from OGRA

LAHORE: The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has sought from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) to increase gas prices by 147 percent.

After Sui Southern Gas Company(SSGC), the SNGPL also filed a plea with the regulator to hike the price of gas. Sui Northern’s gas price hike requested to be implemented from July 1.

SNGPL has requested an increase in the gas price of Rs 2646.18 per mmbt and asked that the new average gas price be fixed at Rs 4446.89.

SNGPL has estimated a revenue shortfall of Rs 189.18 billion.

OGRA will hear the application of SNGPL on March 25 in Lahore, while OGRA will also hear the application on March 27 in Peshawar.

It may be noted that Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has also submitted a request for a further increase in gas price to OGRA. The SSGC had requested the OGRA to further increase gas prices from July 2024.

SSGC has requested an increase of Rs 274. 40 per MMBtu.

A public hearing on the petition is scheduled on March 18 in Karachi, during which the regulatory authority will determine the gas prices.

The Ogra will also hear the petition in Quetta on March 20.

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has reduced the price of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to $1.21 per Metric Million British Thermal Unit (MMBTU).

According to OGRA, the price of LNG for January has been released, LNG on the Sui Northern system has been priced at $1.13 per MMBTU in January, while LNG on the Sui Southern system has been priced at $1.21 per MMBTU.

OGRA said the decline in LNG prices is less than December prices.

According to OGRA, the new price of LNG on the Sui Northern system has been fixed at $13.68 per MMBTU, while the price of LNG on the Sui Southern system has been fixed at $14.24 per MMBTU.

According to the OGRA notification, the price of LPG per kg has been increased by Rs 1.57 per kg.

An 11.8 kg domestic cylinder of LPG has become more expensive by Rs 18. 52 and the new price has been fixed at Rs 3025.87.

The new price of LPG has increased to Rs 256.42 per kg with immediate effect.

It should be noted that in December, the price of a domestic LPG cylinder of 11.8 kg was 3700.52.
