RAWALPINDI: Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik has been appointed as new Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
According to the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), Lt Gen Malik has replaced Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum as ISI chief and will take charge of his new command on September 30.
Currently, he is serving as the adjutant general at the General Headquarters (GHQ).
The newly appointed Lt Gen Muhammad Asim Malik has served as the commander of Balochistan infantry division and infantry brigade in Waziristan.
Moreover, Lt Gen Malik had also served as the chief instructor at the National Defence University and as an instructor at the Command and Staff College Quetta.
The new ISI DG is a graduate of Fort Leavenworth in the United States and Royal College of Defence Studies in London.
