Janhvi Kapoor is welcomed by Jr NTR at the NTR 30 launch event

Janhvi Kapoor & Jr NTR
  • Jr NTR’s upcoming yet-untitled Telugu project with director Koratala Siva was officially launched on Thursday with a pooja ceremony.
  • The project, currently dubbed NTR 30, marks the Telugu debut of actor Janhvi Kapoor.
  • Jr NTR is reuniting with Koratala Siva for NTR 30 after Janatha Garage.

A pooja ceremony marked the beginning of Jr. NTR’s upcoming, untitled Telugu project with Koratala Siva as director. As the special guest for the program, filmmaker SS Rajamouli clapped for the first shot and began filming. Janhvi Kapoor makes her Telugu film debut in the project, which is currently titled NTR 30.

After Janatha Garage, Jr. NTR and Koratala Siva will reunite for NTR 30. KGF director Prashanth Neel, in addition to Rajamouli, was one of the main guests at the event. Social media has seen the appearance of launch ceremony photos and videos. Jr. NTR can be seen shaking hands with Janhvi in one of the videos as he welcomes her to the launch. Janhvi wore a blouse and saree in light green.

Jr. NTR and Janhvi can be seen joining Rajamouli on stage in another video as he claps for the first shot and announces that filming has begun. Koratala Siva, the film’s director, stated, “The film is set in a forgotten coastal land of India.” It’s a very moving tale about living in a world where monsters outnumber humans.

Since the undertaking was formally reported, fans have assumed control over virtual entertainment requesting refreshes on the film. Jr. NTR recently urged fans to stop constantly asking for updates because it puts a lot of pressure on many people. Talking at the pre-discharge occasion of his sibling Kalyan Smash’s film Amigos, NTR mentioned his fans to not continue to request refreshes.

When we’re working on a movie, there’s not always much information to share. We can’t continue to post updates every day or every hour. Even though I can empathize with your enthusiasm and urge, sometimes all of this puts a lot of pressure on the filmmaker and producer. Because of the strain, once in a while we wind up sharing an update that doesn’t have a lot of significant worth which disturbs the fans much more,” he said.”

NTR went on to say that many actors are subjected to the same kind of pressure, which is unhealthy. We’ll let the fans know about any updates first, even before we tell our wife at home. This is simply because we comprehend how significant you are all. We will only share an update with you all if it is worthy of sharing,” he added.

Priyanka discusses her biggest challenge being an Indian actor in Hollywood

Priyanka
  • Priyanka Chopra opened up about the ‘biggest obstacle’ she faced as an Indian actor in Hollywood.
  • She said there was this perception that she would ‘cater to just a South Asian audience’.
  • Priyanka, who has worked in Hollywood films such as Baywatch and The Matrix Resurrections.

Priyanka Chopra discussed the “greatest obstacle” she encountered as an Indian actor in Hollywood in a recent interview. If she hosted a TV show in America, she claimed that viewers outside of the South Asian diaspora’may not be interested in her’ because of the notion that she would ‘cater to just a South Asian audience.

Priyanka claimed she has noticed a “huge difference” in the past ten years since she started focused on her Hollywood career. She has appeared in Hollywood movies like Baywatch and The Matrix Resurrections and will soon be featured on Amazon Video’s spy thriller Citadel. The actor claimed that the advent of streaming increased the importance of entertainment globalization.

“I believe streaming is what has actually altered. The necessity for globalization increased in importance with the introduction of streaming. The limited perception of my abilities that I believe I faced as an Indian actor was the largest challenge. In an interview with Bloomberg, Priyanka stated, “It has been a huge shift, and I am very, very proud to have colleagues and peers who have the fortitude and bravery to be able to swim through a thick water that has kept us out for a very long period, and actually demand a place at the table.

Even if there is still “a long way to go,” according to Priyanka in the same interview, she is positive about the future. She stated, “We are constantly going to push the edge when it comes to the arts to ensure more inclusivity happens.

Guneet Monga: After we won, we saw the impact of storytelling

Guneet Monga
  • Monga also speaks about how the power of Indian cinema is starting to show its magic across the globe.
  • History was made at the 95th Academy Awards.
  • The Elephant Whisperers (2022) produced by Guneet Monga and directed by Kartiki Gonsalves, won the Best Documentary Short Film statuette.

The Elephant Whisperers (2022), a documentary short film produced by Guneet Monga and directed by Kartiki Gonsalves, won the Best Documentary Short Film Oscar at the 95th Academy Awards, making history. The 41-minute film tells the story of Raghu, an orphaned elephant calf who is cared for by mahouts Bomman and Bellie. According to Monga, the Oscar victory has prepared the path for change by bringing attention to the treatment of elephants and by making the world sit up and take note of Indian stories, including her film.

Speaking further about how the triumph improved conditions for elephants in Tamil Nadu, he says, “After our victory, we saw the power of storytelling. The state government stated that each of the 91 elephant keepers in the two camps of the state would receive 1 lakh from the CM Relief Fund as a thank-you gift. Additionally, it provided 9.1 crore to construct mahouts’ cottages, and 5 crore to erect an elephant camp in the Anamalai Tiger Reserve. Bommon and Bellie have also received praise from CM MK Stalin. Monga continues, “We will continue to tell stories that matter and tales that make a difference,” clearly pleased with the impact she has been able to accomplish.

Monga also discusses how Indian cinema’s influence is beginning to be seen around the world. “Bong Joon Ho almost created a pathway for more languages to become well-known on a global scale when he declared in his Oscar speech, “If you break the one-inch-tall barrier of subtitles, you will be introduced to so many more outstanding films. As all movies have the same message, regardless of language, creativity triumphs when audiences around the world can relate to them. Real stories triumph,” she says.

The fact that “two women won it” makes this award extra remarkable in Monga’s eyes. “I’m really thrilled and honored that Kartiki (who made her acting debut with the movie) and I were the only two women representing India at the Oscars this year and that we got the first award for an Indian production,” the actress says. This is significant and sends a message to other women.

“It was breathtaking to witness the live performance of Naatu Naatu (RRR, 2022) and win an Oscar,” Monga enthuses as she shares her excitement at seeing fellow artists making India proud on the Oscars platform. I am extremely honored that SS Rajamouli, MM Keeravani, Chandrabose, Ram Charan, and Jr. NTR could be there for this special occasion.

Monga adds, “I’m really proud of All That Breathes,” acknowledging Shaunak Sen. (2022). Shaunak is one of the most promising Indian directors to watch out for even though his picture didn’t win. The year 2023 at the Oscars was a triumph for India thanks to all three nominations.

The actor is now anticipating to India. “I’ve been missing my family and cooking at home. Too much time has passed. I want to go back home and spend time with Sunny’s (Sunny Kapoor, my husband’s) parents. Since our December wedding, not much time has been spent with one other. When the documentary was chosen for the shortlist, I was on my honeymoon. We were nominated as soon as I got back. I have not been able to since then.

Although Indian documentaries have been successful in recent years in establishing themselves in film festivals, Monga has frequently stated that it needs more organization, funding, and support. Does she really think that winning an Oscar will make everything better? Monga responds, “Funding for documentaries is not well supported in India. The majority of the time, international finances, TV channels, and productions have helped make documentaries. But, with platforms like Netflix, it has risen and doubled down, making it possible for average audiences to consume and appreciate the art of documentaries. Yet, there is still a ton of work to be done. I sincerely hope that a lot more financing opportunities arise.

If one documentary can make such a significant impact, just think of what else is possible if we properly promote documentary filmmaking in India, the author continues.

The director also discusses how difficult it was for her and the rest of the team to convey a narrative from India’s rural areas to an international stage like the Oscars. “Indeed, the journey of The Elephant Whisperers has been so inspirational, fruitful, and heartwarming—from Mudumalai Tiger Reserve to the Oscars. We had never expected or seen anything like the love we’ve had from audiences throughout the world, hundreds of emails, fan art, and messages from individuals of all ages,” she tells us.

Even before we were nominated, our director Kartiki Gonsalves was in Los Angeles. Our genuine satisfaction is the fact that it struck a chord with so many individuals around the world. She put a lot of effort into advertising the movie and expanding its audience. When I joined her in February, we went to several showings of our documentary short film and met so many amazing people who helped us, loved what we did, and made the movie so unique, she continues.

While Monga acknowledges that the Academy voters ultimately decide whether a film wins or loses, she is incredibly appreciative that they chose this one among the many outstanding entries in the given category. Well, it has been a roller coaster journey, and we ended up there.

Monga concludes by sending one final message to everyone in the hopes that they may one day win the trophy, represent their nation abroad, and make everyone proud. “Stop waiting for acceptance from others. Nothing is impossible if you keep moving forward. Everyone can do it if I can do it. All of it is in our minds. We wish you many more Oscar wins!

SS Rajamouli says Oscar win for Naatu Naatu will boost RRR sequel writing

SS Rajamouli
  • RRR won the Oscar for Best Original Song and director SS Rajamouli admitted that the win will speed up work on the sequel.
  • Which is being written by his father Vijayendra Prasad.
  • The director attended the Vanity Fair Oscars after party with Keeravaani.

The Telugu movie RRR finally won the Oscar for Best Original Song on Monday after becoming a global phenomenon with viewers. The song Naatu Naatu, penned by Chandrabose and arranged by MM Keeravaani, which had been the front-runner during the awards season, also won the highest honor. In Los Angeles, the RRR team celebrated their victory, and the blockbuster movie’s director SS Rajamouli was questioned about the planned sequel. Rajamouli acknowledged that the Oscar victory would expedite the sequel’s writing by his father, screenwriter Vijayendra Prasad.

The director went to the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party with his cousin Keeravaani. Variety, a trade publication for Hollywood, asked him if he would start writing the script more quickly now that RRR had won the Oscar. Rajamouli chuckled and remarked: “Certainly, [the Oscar win] will cause the plot to pick up speed. Without a doubt, let’s see.” Speaking about the sequel’s development was a “tricky question,” Keeravaani, who was sitting next to the director, had injected.

The director had previously stated that he had no intention of creating a historical drama sequel. In addition, he believed there hadn’t been any worthwhile ideas to pursue. He started to change his mind, though, as the movie became a worldwide hit.

In an interview with Variety, Rajamouli stated, “After the film’s success abroad, when the subject came up again, my cousin [MM Keeravaani]—who is also a member of my core team—gave a concept that we thought was absolutely brilliant. This is the direction that needs to be taken. He commanded his father to get to work right away and develop the concept.

He had added, “Right now, he’s working on the story seriously; he’s finishing it. But, when this script is finished, when we really look into how to make it, when to make it, and how to bring it onto the screen.”

Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, two RRR actors, attended the Vanity Fair event as well. Ram and his wife Upasana Konidela attended the ceremony, while Jr. NTR walked the red carpet wearing a Gaurav Gupta ensemble. Thereafter, Rajamouli’s LA house hosted a private celebration for the RRR crew.

Deepika was a presenter at the event, but SS Rajamouli’s RRR gained popularity because Naatu Naatu is up for Best Original Music. Everything that Breathes by Shaunak Sen was up for Best Documentary Feature, but it didn’t win. Kartiki Gonsalves’ The Elephant Whisperers, which served as her feature film debut, received the Best Documentary Short Oscar. Definitely having major Oscar moments is India.

  • Which is nominated in the Best Original Song category at the Oscars 2023.
  • AR Rahman said, “I want Naatu-Naatu to win awards.

Ahead to the 2023 Oscars, music director and vocalist AR Rahman supported SS Rajamouli’s song Naatu Naatu from the film RRR. The song is up for Best Original Song in the category, competing against artists including Lady Gaga and Rihanna. Rahman offered his backing for the Telugu song in the midst of this.
“I want Naatu-Naatu to win accolades, and I want them to win the Grammy as well,” AR Rahman stated in a statement to the news agency ANI. “Any prize for any of us will elevate India and increase the concentration of our culture.”

For the 2009 movie Slumdog Millionaire, AR Rahman and lyricist Gulzar shared the Best Original Song and Best Original Score Oscars. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences counts him among its members.

He said, “I felt that (India getting a nomination) would start ten years back,” in January of this year at a song launch ceremony in Mumbai. The delay is 12 years. India, a nation of 1.3 billion people, should host this every year because there are incredible visionaries in every field of filmmaking. Most films don’t participate in the competition. At least they (the RRR creators) had a means of disseminating it. Who will vote for your film if no one has ever heard of it?

Ram Charan and Jr NTR claim they won’t perform a stage dance to Naatu Naatu at the 2023 Oscars

Naatu Naatu
  • Jr NTR and Ram Charan will perform the iconic song Naatu Naatu at the Oscars, composed by MM Keeravani.
  • It is the first Indian song to be nominated at the Oscars.
  • He also said that it will not be the actor, but India who will walk down the red carpet.

The 95th Academy Awards are this Sunday, and actor Jr. NTR has reacted to a query about whether he and his RRR co-star Ram Charan will perform the famous song Naatu Naatu on stage. In a recent interview, Jr. NTR discussed the song’s performance by MM Keeravani, Rahul Sipligunj, and Kaala Bhairava. He added that India, not the actor, would be the one to walk the red carpet.
The popular song from the SS Rajamouli-directed historical action saga RRR is called Naatu Naatu. MM Keeravani is the composer of the song. It has been put forth for the upcoming Oscars’ Best Original Song category. RRR is the first Indian movie to be nominated for an Oscar Award in more than 20 years. “Naatu Naatu”

When asked if he would be dancing to Naatu Naatu during the event, Jr. NTR told KTLA, “I don’t think that’s happening. I eagerly anticipated it happening. But regrettably, we were unable to practice. We don’t want to be on the biggest platform in the world without being ready. Hence, we were busy. I was busy, and Charan may have been busy as well due to his numerous prior engagements at home. Thus, I don’t believe we will be performing; instead, the song will be sung by our music director (MM) Keeravani, Rahul (Sipligunj), and my brother (Kaala) Bhairava. I believe it will be enjoyable for me to see from the audience.

I am ready for it,” Jr. NTR said when asked about walking on the Oscars red carpet. I don’t believe NTR Jr., I don’t believe I will walk that carpet, and I don’t believe Komaram Bheem will either. I believe India will be the one to walk that carpet. I believe it will involve the entire country, and we will carry it in our hearts. We are going to walk with our country in our hearts, whether it is me, Rajamouli, or my co-star Ram Charan. To that, I am looking forward.

RRR centers on two real-life Indian rebels from the 1920s: Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr NTR). The story takes place before India’s independence. Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, and Alia Bhatt all have significant parts in the movie. On March 12, the Oscars ceremony will take place in Los Angeles.

Oscars 2023: SS Rajamouli talks about Naatu Naatu’s choreography, costumes

Naatu Naatu
  • RRR’s Naatu Naatu was filmed in Kiev.
  • Ukraine at the Presidential Palace.
  • With actual dancers and musicians in the background to make it look authentic and incorporate the space.

Many supporters are hoping that RRR’s song Naatu Naatu will win Best Original Song at the Oscars event on March 12. Recently, director SS Rajamouli went back and broke down the process of creating the song to explain how hard the crew worked to make the wildly popular song. The Telugu movie song was penned by Chandrabose and composed by MM Keeravani. The dance number’s singers, Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, will perform the song at the 95th Academy Awards on Sunday.

In Kiev, Ukraine, at the Presidential Palace, Naatu Naatu was filmed. Although Rajamouli had intended to film the song in India, his plans ultimately fell through. His team traveled to Kiev after locating the ideal venue for the song. The director revealed that in order to make the song look even more authentic and embrace the setting, he was quite particular about including real dancers and musicians in the backdrop.

Prem Rakshith, who has previously collaborated with Rajamouli, lead actors Ram Charan, and Jr. NTR, choreographed the now-viral dance moves. Rajamouli spoke with Vanity Fair about the making of the well-known song starring Ram and NTR. For each of them, [Prem] gave one of the most unforgettable numbers, he claimed. He is fully aware of their fashion sense and body language. He is fully aware of what their supporters want from them. He must develop a style that will work for both of the performers, who are required to dance together despite each having their own distinct dance technique. I wanted him to dance in a simple style because I also wanted him to be able to figure it out.

Prem and Rama Rajamouli, Rajamouli’s wife and a costume designer, took sure to incorporate the actors’ clothing into the dance moves as well. The costume staff had to save two or three clothes for the dancers because they would need to meticulously clean them after dancing on a dirty floor. Prem also came up with the brilliant plan to involve Ram and NTR in the creative usage of the suspenders. While this was a humorous dance number, the director had informed Prem that it also doubled as a battle scene for the purposes of the movie’s plot.

The director continued, “For me, Naatu Naatu is one of the reasons I think it is such a hit because it is not just the music or the dancing, but because there is a wonderful story in itself. Inside those 10 minutes, which include the lead sequence from Naatu Naatu and the entire song, is the entire plot of RRR. Nobody in America or the rest of the world truly understands the song’s lyrics, yet the lyrics are catchy and flow well. I believe Chandrabose, the lyricist, deserves praise.

Rajamouli continued by saying that in addition to being “exceptionally skilled dancers,” the principal actors also successfully conveyed the song’s nuanced emotions to the viewers in the manner that he had envisioned. Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris all appear in the March 25, 2022, global release of RRR.

Ram Charan
  • Ram Charan would love to perform the RRR song Naatu Naatu at the Oscars ceremony.

Ram Charan admitted he would want to sing the RRR song Naatu Naatu during the Oscars event on March 12, 2023, while he and director SS Rajamouli are currently in the US. The Telugu song, written by Chandrabose and composed by MM Keeravaani, is a 95th Academy Award nominee for Best Original Song. It is up for a Grammy along with songs by Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Diane Warren.
Rihanna’s Oscar-nominated song Raise Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be performed, the Academy recently announced. Sofia Carson will perform the other nominated song Applause from the movie Tell It Like a Woman with Diane, it was announced on Friday. About the Best in Show, Academy CEO Bill Kramer had commented stated that he was attempting to arrange things so that the artists of the Best Original Song would take the stage during the live awards presentation.

Ram stated, “We would want to do ‘Naatu Naatu’ anyplace that we are being appreciated, but not every area accommodates us to perform,’ in an interview with the film-lovers’ social media network Letterboxd. Nevertheless, why not if we’re at the Oscars, there’s a request, and there’s time? We are glad to provide entertainment for our audience because they have been so supportive. It would be challenging to perform the entire number on stage because it requires a lot of breath and stamina. But without a doubt, the hook step. ‘Why not?’

In the movie, Ram and Jr. NTR wow a predominantly British audience with their dance prowess. The Best Original Song prize went to Naatu Naatu at the 80th Golden Globe Awards.  Prem Rakshith created the choreography for the song was filmed in Ukraine, at the Mariinskyi Palace (Ukraine Presidential Palace) in Kyiv.

Ram had discussed the track’s filming with Variety on the red carpet at the Golden Awards. He’d stated, “Talking about it still makes my knees tremble. Well, it was what it was, a beautiful form of suffering, and look where it brought us! Thanks to that, we are seated here and speaking to you on this carpet right now.”

The RRR squad is anticipated to attend and walk the red carpet at the Oscars ceremony next month. At the Hollywood Critics Association Film Awards on Friday, RRR won four prizes, including Best Original Song.

Jr NTR as the top actor contender for the Oscar in 2023

Jr NTR
  • Jr NTR is one of the frontrunners for the Best Actor category.
  • RRR has had a tremendous run at the recent Hollywood awards.
  • Won the Golden Globe and Critics Choice awards for Naatu Naatu in the Best Original Song category.

In addition to being nominated for a slew of other prizes in the Best International Film category, RRR has had an incredible run at the most recent Hollywood awards, taking home the Critics’ Choice and Golden Globe awards for Naatu Naatu in the Best Original Song category. RRR is anticipating being nominated for several categories, including Best Original Song, for the 95th Academy Awards, which will be revealed on January 24. Actor Jr. NTR is currently one of the front-runners for the Best Actor award, according to a prestigious American magazine.

In the SS Rajamouli film, Jr. NTR portrays the liberation fighter Komaram Bheem, which has been making waves with western audiences. The publication now asserts that Jr. NTR’s performance in the movie must have caught the Academy’s attention and may have contributed to his potential nomination for Best Actor.

“Here are 10 performances from deserving folks we hope are remembered in this year’s Oscar race,” mentioned the article, as it went on to rank Jr NTR at the top of the list that also includes names of actors like Tom Cruise, Paul Dano, Mia Goth, Paul Mescal and Zoe Kravitz. Earlier Jr NTR was also mentioned by Variety among their unranked predictions for the 2023 Academy Awards.

Mentioning Jr NTR’s performance in RRR, writer Brian Truitt wrote, “Academy, is it possible to go halfsies on a best actor nod? Because this action-packed musical adventure’s two Indian mega-stars are what makes “RRR” such an audience-friendly powerhouse: Ram Charan’s British army soldier and Rao’s loyal warrior become friends, butt heads as foes and then come back together as a fighting force, with an all-time bromance and an amazing dance-off along the way. If we have to pick, though, the charismatic Rao has the edge for leading an army of wild animals and juggling a motorcycle with ease.”

Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently revealed pictures from a recent RRR screening in the US, where she posed for pictures with director SS Rajamouli and composer MM Keeravani and spoke on stage. Priyanka stated on Instagram Stories, “Least I can do to support the progress of this outstanding Indian film. RRR, SS Rajamouli, MM Keeravani, Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Prem Rakshith (choreographer), Kala Bhairava (singer), and Chandrabose (lyricist) are all to be congratulated and given good luck.

Since it was re-released in US theaters and began streaming on Netflix last year, the western public have loved RRR, starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan. Numerous Hollywood luminaries, including the Russo Brothers and Steven Spielberg, have praised the movie and its song Naatu Naatu, which most recently won the Golden Globe for best original song, besting artists like Taylor Swift and Rihanna. Team RRR has been actively promoting the movie in Hollywood and plans to be nominated for numerous Oscars in 2023.
