CTD Punjab launches grand operation against terrorists

LAHORE: Due to the recent wave of terrorism in the country, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab has launched a grand operation against terrorists.

According to the details, CTD conducted a grand operation last night on the hideouts of terrorists in Lahore, Sargodha, Multan, and other districts of the province.

According to CTD officials, eight terrorists of banned Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Daesh were arrested from five districts including Lahore. Terrorists were arrested during the interrogation of 36 suspects.

The CTD officials further said that the terrorists include Masood ur Rahman, Subhanullah, Sajid Ali, Aziz Khan, Shahid Ejaz, and Sharaft Ullah.

CTD officials said that suicide vests, explosives, arms, and bullets were recovered during the operation. The investigation has been started by registering seven cases against the terrorists.

CTD officials said that 483 combing operations were conducted this week in which 127 suspects were arrested.

PESHAWAR: Three police officials, including a deputy superintendent of police (DSP), martyred in exchange of firing with terrorists in the jurisdiction of Sarband Police Station in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Sources said terrorists attacked the Sarband police station with hand grenades and long-range rifles, in a result DSP Sardar Hussain and two police officials Irshad and Jehanzeb embraced martyrdom.

Senior superintendent of police operations Kashif Aftab Abbasi confirmed the attack on Sarband police station. He said terrorists attacked police station from two sides with hand grenades and sniper guns.

He further said that at least six to eight terrorists were involved in the attack and 14 policemen were present at the police station at the time of the attack. He said that the terrorists managed to flee after the attack.

A heavy contingent of police reached the spot soon after the incident and cordoned off the area. Police have also launched a search operation in the area to arrest the terrorists.

The funeral prayer of the martyred police personnel will be held at Police Line Peshawar. The political and police officials will participate in the funeral prayer.

RAWALPINDI: A Pakistan Army soldier was martyred and a terrorist killed during an exchange of fire in Zhob area of Balochistan.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces has launched an intelligence based operation in Zhob area of Balochistan, to stop terrorists from using few suspected routes to move across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and to sneak into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) where terrorists targeted citizens and forces.

 

According to the military’s media wing, security forces intercepted a group of terrorists in the early hours today after continuous surveillance and sanitisation of the area.

During the exchange of fire between the security forces and the militants, one terrorist killed, while Sepoy Haq Nawaz embraced martyrdom and two other soldiers got injured.

According to the ISPR, the terrorists were supported by their facilitators from across the border as well during the exchange of fire.

The sanitisation operation continues in the area to apprehend the remaining perpetrators.

LAHORE: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab arrested 12 suspects allegedly belonged to banned organizations during raids conducted  in different areas of the province.

CTD Punjab has conducted operations against terrorists in various districts including Lahore.

 

 

During these operations, 12 suspected persons belonging to banned organizations have been arrested. The CTD also recovered explosives, electric switches, detonator safety fuses and weapons from the alleged terrorists.

CTD has registered eight cases against the alleged terrorists in different cities of the province.

It should be noted that among those arrested are Muhammad Arif, who belongs to the banned organization Daesh, along with Zakirullah, Khurram Ali, Irfan Khan, Javed Khan, Basir Khan, Adam Khan and Zahid Khan.

Security Forces conducted 2 separate IBOs in Datakhel, North Waziristan, and Zoida, South Waziristan, and killed 4 terrorists.

4 terrorists including terrorist commanders Abdul Adam Zeb alias Dung (TTP Bismillah group), terrorist commander Molvi Mehboob alias Molvi (TTP Sajna group), and terrorist commander Mir Salam alias Anas (TTP Sajna group) were killed during the intense exchange of fire.

It is pertinent to mention here that terrorist commander Abdul Adam Zeb was involved in more than 20 terrorist activities against Security Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies, and local population since 2014 including IED attacks, firing, attacks on government buildings, target killing, kidnapping for ransom, extortion and recruiting & organizing terrorists in Muhammad Khel, Boya, Datakhel of North Waziristan and Zoida areas of South Waziristan.

Terrorist commanders Molvi Mehboob and Mir Salam were close associates of Baitullah Mehsud and other TTP’s terrorist commanders.

They remained involved in the attacks on Security Forces and LEAs security check posts, Military convoys, attack on Ladha Fort in 2007, IED attacks, and other sabotage activities in South Waziristan.
