- KPO to resume its activities from today after attack
- The Karachi Police Office was attacked on Feb 17
- Five people were killed in the attack
KARACHI: After the terror attack on February 17, the Karachi Police Office (KPO) is to be made functional today, says IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon.
IG Sindh while issuing a statement said that most departments of KPO will start resuming work from today amid tightened security after the terror attack that took the lives of five.
Ghulam Nabi Memon also said that the facts will be collected soon and the probe is to be concluded on an urgent basis.
Pertinently, the attack came weeks after the terror attack at a masjid in Peshawar during prayers that took the lives of at least 61 people and served as an alarm for the LEAs towards the soaring terrorism in the country.
A five-member committee, led by a deputy inspector general of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), was formed on Saturday to probe the matter.
Reportedly, three armed militants attacked the office of the Karachi chief and were gun-battled for over three hours by security officials.
The attack has raised many questions about the preparation of our forces and the security arrangements of the most sensitive areas.
