LAHORE: The Lahore High Court(LHC) on Friday fixed the petition challenging the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) authority to include names in the Passport Control List (PCL) for hearing on October 01 .

Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Aalia Neelum heard the petition filed for early hearing on the petition against the authority to add name in PCL.

The petition challenges the FIA ‘s authority to include names in the passport control list.

Petitioner Munir Ahmed’s lawyer Azhar Siddique presented his arguments in the court.

The court approved the request for early hearing of the case and directed to set the case for hearing on October 1.

FIA begins probe into irregularities in JPMC

KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has started an investigation into embezzlement at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).

FIA has issued notices to the administrative officer of JPMC. The notice said that the administrative officer of Jinnah Hospital Karachi should appear before the FIA Corporate Crime Officer along with all the records.

FIA officials say that during a raid at a house on Kashmir Road, a man named Masoom Ahmed was questioned, who revealed that he had bought banned contraband drugs, lenses, for the hospital.

FIA said that 780 million have been embezzled in illegal purchase of medicines, surgical instruments.

Officials say that 250 million have been embezzled in purchase of medicines, surgical equipments in National Institute of Child Health (NICH).

It has also been revealed that JPMC is buying drugs from the black market for commission and kickbacks.

Among those responsible for the hospital’s purchasing department are dealers of illegal drugs.

FIA arrests three over fake US visa documents

FAISALABAD: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration arrested a family going to Saudi Arabia for the purpose of begging while taking action at Faisalabad Airport.

The FIA spokesman said that among the arrested suspects are Minwar Hussain and Shafia Bibi, the accused were going to Saudi Arabia with their daughter.

The spokesman said that the accused kept traveling to Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia for the purpose of begging, while the accused were also offloaded from Lahore Airport last month.

The FIA ​​said the accused failed to provide solid sources of income and could not provide satisfactory answers regarding expenses incurred on several foreign trips.

Officials said that there was no record of the accused in the FBR regarding the tax return and the accused did not have the return ticket and hotel booking.

The accused were referred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Faisal for further legal action. Abad has been shifted and further investigation is going on.

It should be remembered that last month, FIA Immigration arrested 11 passengers for begging under the guise of Umrah while conducting operations at Karachi Airport.

FIA had said that 11 passengers including 8 women were offloaded, the accused were going to Saudi Arabia on Umrah visa, the return tickets and hotel bookings offered by the accused also turned out to be fake.
