LAHORE: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber ​​Crime Circle Lahore has arrested the accused for spreading false information on social media and inciting people.

FIA ​​spokesperson, the accused Mohammad Younis was arrested by the FIA ​​cybercrime cell from Mian Channu, the accused allegedly spread false information about the fake rape.

The spokesman said that the arrested suspect Muhammad Yunus has been found involved in inciting the people against the state, a mobile phone was seized from the suspect’s possession during the raid. A Twitter account and other evidence were recovered from the confiscated mobile phone.

Authorities report that Younis had been disseminating misleading information on social media platforms, allegedly intending to stir public unrest.

Specifically, he is accused of spreading false claims of assault, which contributed to public alarm and stirred social tension.

During the operation, FIA agents seized Younis’s mobile phone, which was found to contain his X account and other critical digital evidence that links him to the spread of fabricated news.

Preliminary analysis of the mobile phone and related data indicates that Younis engaged in a pattern of social media activity that aimed to mislead the public and fuel discontent.

The FIA has now begun an in-depth investigation, with forensic experts analyzing digital evidence recovered from Younis’s devices.

This case will serve as a significant example in Pakistan’s efforts to prevent misuse of social media platforms for malicious purposes.

As the probe advances, the FIA warns that individuals involved in similar acts will face strict legal consequences.

7 laburers shot dead in tragic firing incident in Gwadar

QUETTA: At least seven laburers were killed while sleeping in their residential quarters in Surbandar area of ​​Gwadar, Balochistan province.

Gwadar Police Station Station House Officer (SHO) Mohsin Ali said unknown armed men pened fire on a residential quarter near Gwadar Fish Harbour as a result of which seven people were killed and one was injured.

Mohsin Ali said that the dead and injured persons used to work in a barber shop in Surbandar. The dead bodies and the injured person have been shifted to Gwadar Hospital.

SHO Gwadar police station said the dead and injured persons belong to Mian Channu tehsil,  Khanewal district of Punjab.

In a statement issued by the government of Balochistan, it is said that the killing of laborers in Gwadar is open terrorism and the spokesperson of the Balochistan government said that the families of the workers are being contacted.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti condemned the killing of the barber shop workers in Gwadar extending his sympathies towards the families of the victims.

CM Bugti also sought a report on the matter, maintaining that “all kinds of force will be used to arrest the terrorists and their facilitators”.
