Mustansar Hussain Tarrar calls Javed Akhtar’s words irrelevant

Javed Akhtar
  • The renowned Indian author had expressed admiration for Pakistan’s legendary vocalists.
  • Javed Akhtar blamed Pakistan for the horrific attacks.
  • Pakistani lost its sense of tolerance.

Renowned novelist Mustansar Hussain Tarar, an actor and columnist, has categorically denounced the anti-Pakistan sentiments made by Indian artist and poet Javed Akhtar.

The renowned Indian author had expressed admiration for Pakistan’s legendary vocalists during a recent event in Lahore, but the feeling was not returned. He claimed that while large-scale concerts were planned for Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Mehdi Hassan in India, no similar concert was planned for the great Indian vocalist Lata Mangeshkar in Pakistan.

Akhtar blamed Pakistan for the horrific attacks on Mumbai and claimed that those responsible were still free to traverse the country. In response to Akhtar’s words, other Pakistani celebrities expressed their indignation.

Speaking at the Lahore Literary Festival (LLF), Tarrar criticised Akhtar’s remarks and claimed that after hearing them, he felt embarrassed of himself. Nonetheless, he didn’t think Akhtar’s comments merited criticism. But he asserted that as a country, Pakistan had lost its sense of tolerance.

The show-stealing remarks came from “Bahao” author, who is known for his audacious pronouncements. He voiced the opinion that, in order to be awarded the Nobel Prize, a writer must employ forceful language to critique the culture in which he lives. But, he lacked the talent.

He claimed that the Pride of Performance and Kamal-e-Fan honours given in Pakistan were equivalent to winning a Nobel Prize.

Javed Akhtar on making contentious remarks in Pakistan: When asked, “Yahan nahi darte wahan kya darna,”

Javed Akhtar
  • Javed Akhtar, who is receiving flak from Pakistani celebrities.
  • Praises from Indian counterparts for his comment during an event.
  • He has opened up on whether he was scared of speaking his mind.

Javed Akhtar has now discussed if he was afraid to speak his thoughts at the occasion after receiving criticism from Pakistani celebrities and admiration from Indian counterparts for his most recent remark. Javed is well renowned for speaking his opinion and never ducks a topic to avoid conflict.
Javed Akhtar recently went to a festival in Lahore to honor the author Faiz Ahmed Faiz, where he learned that Indians believe all Pakistanis to be terrorists. In a sharp response, Javed stated that Pakistan is still home to the terrorists who carried out the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai.  Since then, he has been in the center of the controversy; Pakistani celebrities have criticized him, while lawmakers and celebrities in India have praised him for the statement.

Javed reiterated his remarks from the event while speaking at an ABP event, adding, “It grew too large, making me feel ashamed and hesitant to leave (for such events). Jeet ke aya hoon yaha aya to laga pata nahi third world war (as if I won the third world war). There are so many responses from the public and the media. I felt embarrassed, how come? We have to mention that, should we just keep quiet, Itni baat to kehni padegi, chup rahein kya?”

He claimed to have received messages notifying him that people in Pakistan were asking him how he obtained a visa, and he added that he might just remember the location at this point (suggesting that he may not ever get to go back again). Javed responded, “Is tarah ki baatein, jo controversial hain…jis mulk pe paida hue, jeete hain aur marenge waha karte rehte hain to dusre mulk me do din jana waha kya dar tha? ” when asked if he felt afraid to speak his mind while sitting in Lahore at an event being held in a hall full of Pakistanis. ‘Jab yaha nahi darte to waha kya darenge’ (Why would I make such divisive remarks in the nation where I was born and will die?).

Speaking to a crowd at the Pakistani literary festival, Javed argued that it was unfair to expect Indians to disregard the fact that the attackers were living freely in Pakistan after having witnessed the horrors of the 26/11 assaults in Bombay.

Ali Zafar criticizes Javed Akhtar’s views against Pakistan

Javed Akhtar
  • Ali Zafar has slammed Javed Akhtar’s speech at the Faiz Mela, calling it “insensitive”.
  • Asking people to verify facts before making any conclusions.
  • Ali took to his Instagram Stories and said that Javed Akhtar’s remarks could ‘deeply hurt the sentiments’ of people.

Ali Zafar, a Pakistani actor who has acted in multiple Bollywood productions, has criticized Javed Akhtar for his widely shared remarks at the Faiz Mela in Pakistan. While Ali Zafar has criticized Javed’s speech as “insensitive,” Javed is being praised in India for saying that the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack conspirators are still “roaming freely” in Pakistan.
Javed Akhtar’s comments, according to Ali, could ‘seriously hurt the sensibilities’ of some. Ali made this statement on his Instagram Stories. Folks, I love you all and sincerely cherish both your praise and criticism, he wrote in his letter. Nonetheless, I always ask that you confirm the facts before drawing any conclusions or passing judgment. Not until the following day, when I saw it on television, did I learn about what was stated at the Faiz Mela.

“I am a proud Pakistani and naturally no Pakistani would appreciate any statement against its country or people specially at an event meant to bring hearts closer than further. We all know how much Pakistan has suffered and continue to suffer at the hands of terrorism and such insensitive and uncalled for remarks can deeply hurt the sentiments of so many people.”

Ali Fazar has penned a note about Javed Akhtar.

Ali Fazal had before tweeted about having Javed Akhtar over for a party. He had shared a video with the comment, “It was an honor to host him. I’ve always thought that the best way to unite people is via the transcendence of art and music. The only path to peace is love. We are grateful that @Javedakhtarjadu sahab could join us. I appreciate you keeping us linked, Faiz sahab.

However, following his remarks at the Faiz Mela, many of Ali’s fellow Pakistanis criticized him and his family for inviting Javed Akhtar to the party. “Not everyone, but some utilize such times to attack and exploit too,” he added in another Instagram Story. It was rather funny when people who were posing as heroes and patriots on social media messaged me behind my back to complain about not being invited. Here, hypocrisy is at its height as well. Beware.”

Bollywood movies like Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Chashme Baddoor, and Dear Zindagi include Ali Fazal as an actor. He can sing as well.

Kangana Ranaut
  • Javed Akhtar recently stirred a new controversy.
  • Kangna Ranaut took to Twitter in support of Javed Akhtar’s comments.
  • Mishi Khan criticised the Dhaakad actress for her insulting comments against Pakistan.

As a video of his terrorist remark at the Faiz Mela in Lahore went viral online, Bollywood veteran Javed Akhtar recently stirred a new controversy. He stated his opinion that although Indians appreciate Pakistan’s outstanding singers, they do not feel the same way about them. He questioned the idea of formality and claimed that while sizable events were planned for Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Mehdi Hassan, Lata Mangeshkar was not given the same treatment in Pakistan. Several Pakistani artists were outraged by the statement, yet their peers in the neighbouring nation praised the Indian veteran for it. One of them was the Indian actress Kangna Ranaut, who took to Twitter in support of Javed Akhtar’s comments regarding Pakistanis made during his speech at a public event.

In response, She remarked, “Jab main Javed saab ki poetry sunti hoon toh lagta tha yeh kaise Maa Swarsati ji ki in pe itni kripa hai, lekin dekho kuch toh sachchai hoti hai insaan mein tabhi toh khudai hoti hai unke saath mein … Jai Hind @Javedakhtarjadu.”

“saab… Ghar mein ghuss ke maara .. ha ha.”

A well-known actress in the Pakistani film business named Mishi Khan used her Instagram account to criticise the Dhaakad actress for her insulting and ominous comments against Pakistan. Khan strongly scolded the actress in her message and told her to “behave herself.”

No one applauded after Javed Akhtar’s anti-Pakistan comment at Faiz Festival

Javed Akhtar
  • The Indian media is congratulating Javed Akhtar.
  • They remarked on his statement as “dushman kay ghar mein ja kar usko marna.”
  • Akhtar claimed that Pakistanis had applauded when he made the statement.

Following the widespread circulation of his comments blaming Pakistan for not taking strong action against the terrorists responsible for the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, Javed Akhtar and the Indian media are congratulating themselves for “dushman kay ghar mein ja kar usko marna.”

Akhtar claimed in an interview with Hindustan Times that Pakistanis had applauded when he made the statement and agreed with him.

“They all clapped. They agreed with me. There are many people who admire India, want to have a relationship with us. We tend to think of countries as monolith. That is not the case. How do we connect with millions of people, who want to connect with India,” he said.

The full video is available on social media, thus the claim is false. After Akhtar’s remark regarding the Mumbai attacks, nobody applauded.

Another remark by the Indian poet was well-received by the audience. “We [India] have organised concerts for persons like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Mehdi Hassan, but your country has not held a concert for Lata,” Javed Akhtar had said in reference to Pakistan’s lack of appreciation for Indian singers.
This claim is untrue as well, as Indian performers and artists have received some of the greatest honours from the Pakistani government and, in particular, have been invited to speak in Pakistani cities.
Pictures of the Bollywood stars and singers who had won awards in Pakistan were provided by journalist Yusra Askari.

Javed Akhtar reacts to his remark about the 26/11 Mumbai tragedy at a Pakistan event

Javed Akhtar
  • Javed Akhtar was recently in Pakistan for a literary festival in Lahore.
  • Javed has revealed the audience’s response to his remark at the Pakistan event.
  • Javed Akhtar’s comment about the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks was widely shared on social media.

Javed Akhtar recently commented on the 26/11 Mumbai terrorists walking freely in Pakistan while he was in Pakistan for a literary festival in Lahore. Social media users posted a video of the lyricist-writer making the remark during the festival honoring the late Urdu poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz, and actress Kangana Ranaut responded by complimenting him. Javed has now disclosed how the audience reacted to his comment at the Pakistan event.

Javed Akhtar claimed that his remarks about the 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai were positively welcomed in Pakistan in a recent interview. Many Pakistanis, he continued, “admire India,” and they want their two neighbors to “have a connection.” Javed continued by claiming that “the Pakistan Army, the Pakistani people, and the Pakistani establishment are not on the same page.”

In an interview with NDTV, Javed responded as follows when asked how the audience reacted to his comment: “Everyone applauded. They were of my opinion. Many individuals have high regard for India and desire to interact with us. We frequently imagine nations to be homogenous. This is not true. How do we establish contact with the millions of people who wish to learn more about India?”

Javed was also questioned on if now was the appropriate time for India and Pakistan to hold talks and whether finding a common ground was necessary. He stated: “I am not of that caliber (to respond to this query). Those who are in positions of power and authority are aware of what is going on and know how to approach the problem. The Pakistani Army, the Pakistani populace, and the Pakistani bureaucracy do not agree. The government officials should know better. My knowledge is limited. We in India know virtually little about the people of Pakistan. The same applies to them.”

Javed Akhtar was seen speaking to a crowd at the Pakistan festival in a recent video from Lahore that was also shared on Twitter by Kangana Ranaut. He said that as someone who had witnessed the horrors of the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai firsthand, it would be incorrect to expect Indians to ignore the possibility that the attackers are still at large in Pakistan. In response to a query from a participant in the audience, he responded in Urdu, “The assailants weren’t from Egypt or Norway. You shouldn’t take offense if an Indian complains about this because they are still there in your country. He added that Pakistan had never welcomed Pakistani artists, despite India having done so in the past.

Aryan Khan ignores press at the screening of APWDM

Aryan Khan
  • Aryan Khan attended a screening of Anurag Kashyap’s Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat.
  • Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Radhika Apte and Huma Qureshi were also present.
  • Aryan ignored the press and went straight for the screening.

Aryan Khan attended the screening of Anurag Kashyap’s film Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat among stars like Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Radhika Apte, and Huma Qureshi, among others. Aryan went directly to the screening as numerous celebrities posed for the photographers outside the venue, which did not sit well with some online users. Some people claimed Aryan had a “unnecessary attitude.” Though some also defended him, claiming that ‘the same media attacked him’ prior to his acquittal in the drugs-on-cruise case.

On February 3, Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat, a film by Anurag Kashyap, will be released. Alaya F and Karan Mehta share the key roles in the movie. A number of celebs attended the movie’s special Mumbai showing on Tuesday. While photographers shouted his name and begged him to pose for pictures outside the screening site, Aryan Khan was also seen and attracted attention for “ignorantly” walking past them. Aryan, the son of actor Shah Rukh Khan and interior designer Gauri Khan, was featured in a video from the screening of the movie Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat that was published on a paparazzo account.

“The boy has grown up, full attitude,” said one person. Another person wrote about Aryan, saying, “He is only receiving that much recognition and respect because of King Khan (Shah Rukh).” Aryan‘s behavior did not impress someone, who remarked, “He has a ton of unneeded attitude, and the media… I don’t know why you always want to photograph him. Regardless of whether the person is a celebrity child, please disregard such unpleasant people.” Another person said, “When his movie is released, he will stop and pose for the cameras.”

Several more defended the Aryan race, with one saying, “Well, when he was framed, the same media tormented him and made snap judgments and reports (in a drugs-on-cruise case). He endured psychological abuse and torture until his innocence was established. Therefore, there is nothing wrong if he chooses to ignore the media, which is so rude and doesn’t respect people’s privacy.” The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) detained eight people, including Aryan Khan, in connection with an alleged narcotics seizure on a cruise liner off the coast of Mumbai on October 3, 2021. The NCB cleared him in the case in May 2022, stating that “no narcotics had been found on Aryan Khan.”

Aryan, who hopes to become a director, stated in December 2022 that he will be writing his first film for Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s production company, Red Chillies Entertainment.

Javed Akhtar reveals his reasons for leaving Salim Khan’s employ

Javed Akhtar
  • Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan worked together on some of the most iconic Bollywood films.
  • Javed spoke about their partnership.
  • How Salim had encouraged him to become a screenwriter in the first place.

Screenwriters Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar collaborated on some of the most well-known Bollywood movies, including Sholay, Don, Deewaar, and Zanjeer, among many more. In a recent interview, Javed discussed their collaboration and how Salim had first urged him to pursue a career as a screenwriter. The lyricist also discussed how they split up after more than ten years of collaboration.

Javed also said that he intended to be a film director before becoming a writer and lyricist in the latest interview. Javed claimed that he met Salim, the father of actor Salman Khan while working as an assistant director and dialogue writer on the 1966 movie Sarhadi Lutera. Salim has a minor part to play in the movie.

Salim Saab unn chand logo mein se the jo mujhe boht encourage karte the, says Javed Akhtar about his connection with Salim Khan. Salim was one of the few who would support me. Agar shayad main kahin aur reh raha hota toh itni mulaqat na hoti unse lekin ab paas mein mujhe mil gaya kamra toh main aksar chala jata tha. We might not have interacted as frequently if I had been living somewhere else, but I was able to get a room near his house.

Javed elaborated on his relationship with Salim Khan by recalling how and why their working relationship ended. He claimed that as soon as they achieved prosperity, their individual lives grew to be stronger than their relationship.

“Shuru mein jab hum nakaam log the, struggle kar rahe the, toh bilkul ek the. Koi humare aur dost nahi the, hum hi baith ke subah se shaam tak kaam karte the. Shaam ko bhi saath the, raat ko khana bhi saath hota tha. 24 mein se 15-16 hours toh saath hi hote the… Jab kamyabi ayi, toh naye naye log zindagi mein ana shuru ho gaye aur voh circle dheere dheere alag ho gaye. Toh voh mental rapport tha humara, voh toot gaya. Toh fir woh kaam nahi ho sakta tha (In our struggling days, we were one tea. We did not have any other friends, we would work together from morning till evening. We would even have meals together. Out of 24 hours, we would spend 15-16 hours with each other. But as we became successful, new people came into our lives and our friend’s circle got separated. The mental rapport we had was broken. We could no longer work as a team).”

Salim-Javed, as they came to be called, is arguably one of the most significant and potent authors in the history of Hindi cinema, and it was their 1973 picture Zanjeer that popularized the stereotype of the “angry young man” that appeared in many of Amitabh Bachchan’s films from the 1970s and 1980s. Sholay, a 1975 film by Salim-Javed, is still regarded as one of India’s most famous movies.

Javed Akhtar once confused a man who thought he was Gulzar

Javed Akhtar
  • A man once greeted Javed Akhtar thinking he was Gulzar Sahab.
  • The latter did not correct him and left him in confusion.
  • Javed Akhtar narrated the incident during the launch event of the book Jadunama.

Javed Akhtar, a writer, and lyricist, related a recent incident where a man once welcomed him at the airport thinking he was Gulzar; he did not correct him and left him bewildered.

At the book launch for Arvind Mandloi’s biography of Javed, Jadunama, Javed related the story. Gulzar Sahab called him to the stage with him.

The Kal Ho Na Ho song writer revealed: “Shabana and I were at the airport, when the airline staff asked us to sit and said they will get our luggage. Shabana was sitting right next to me when a gentleman approached me and said, ‘Adaab Gulzar saab!’ I responded with an adaab too.”

“He then wondered, ‘How come Gulzar saab is at the airport?’ I told him that Javed Akhtar saab is coming, so I am there to receive him!”

Akhtar added: “He got confused that such a big man has come to receive Javed Akhtar? He asked me, with disappointment in his voice, ‘You are here to receive Javed Akhtar? I replied, ‘I always come. Wherever Javed Akhtar is coming from, I always receive him at the airport.’

The man, in disappointment and confusion, said: “Acha… Chalta hu Gulzar saab”..

Javed Akhtar claims that although they don’t resemble one another physically, modern individuals of ordinary intelligence nonetheless behave similarly to Kabad Khaana.

Also he is a legend, right in the morning so many people lined up for selfies, but he did not refuse anyone, chatted with everyone with a smile. He was so warm! I am in awe.” She added rose, laughing and heart emoji to her caption.

Uorfi had made light of her recent trip to Delhi, joking that she was “sensitive to clothing” and that wearing wool clothing caused boils. She even polled her followers on Instagram to find out if they experienced the same problem throughout the winter. Uorfi posted pictures of her boils on Instagram Stories. Uorfi uploaded a second video of herself discussing her allergy.

She wrote, “So now you guys know why I do not wear clothes. I have this serious condition, my body starts reacting guys! The proof is there, the proof is right there. That is why mai itna nangi rehti hoon (I am often naked). My body is allergic to clothes.” In another clip she posted, Uorfi said, “The allergy is so bad, literally so bad! I just wear woollen clothes and this happens. I am allergic to clothes.”

She frequently makes headlines for her eccentric attire. Chitra Kishore Wagh, president of the Maharashtra Mahila Morcha, recently reported the actress to the police, alleging that her garb was impolite and dangerous to society. She had also called for Uorfi’s detention.
