The 7th annual International Faiz Festival, held in Lahore over the weekend in honour of poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz, was attended by Indian legend Javed Akhtar. The occasion seeks to advance both national human rights issues and Urdu poetry, music, literature, and drama.
Akhtar was spotted at a star-studded poetry and music event that the Jhoom crooner and their family hosted after the festival. Videos from the event that show off the singer’s remarkable hosting abilities have become very popular on social media.
The iconic love song “Ek Ladki ko Dekha” from the film “1942: A Love Story,” composed by the legendary Javed Akhtar, was dedicated by the 42-year-old to his significant other in a video that he posted on Instagram. The pair can be seen singing along to some traditional Bollywood songs as the seasoned performer also delivers some well-known lines to the audience. The vocalist of “Laila,” whose mesmerising voice filled the room with a seductive air. Everyone seems to have briefly entered their own dreamlike realms.
