Soldier Embraces Martyrdom, 2 TTP Terrorists Killed In North Waziristan IBO: ISPR

A Pakistan Army soldier embraced martyrdom and two terrorists were killed in a gunfight between security forces and Tehreek-i-Taliban (TTP), the military’s media wing said on Sunday.

According to the statement by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan Army soldier, identified as Nazakat Khan, 32, resident of Attock, lost his life during the operation.

The terrorists gunned down by security forces were active members of the TTP in the area, ISPR said.

The soldiers conducted an Intelligence Based Operations (IBO) in Spinwam, North Waziristan on the reported presence of terrorists.

“The IBO was launched by the security forces on the reported presence of the terrorists.”

The ISPR said the terrorists killed in the operation were involved in terror plots against the security forces.

The military’s media wing maintained that the security forces had cordoned off the area and blocked escape routes to apprehend fleeing terrorists.

Earlier, Four Frontier Corps (FC) personnel embraced martyrdom and six others injured in a terrorist attack from Afghanistan in Manzakai Sector of Zhob District today (Wednesday).

The media wing of Pakistan Military, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that the FC troops were moving for the fencing activity in the area when they were ambushed by terrorists from across the border. The FC troops responded promptly.

ISPR added, ‘The injured have been evacuated to CMH Quetta.’

Back in February this year, a Frontier Corps (FC) soldier embraced martyrdom after terrorists attacked a security check post in Balochistan’s Kech district.

“Terrorist fire raid on FC Balochistan Post established for the security of N-85 Highway near Hoshab, District Kech late last night,” the ISPR stated.

During the exchange of fire, Sepoy Asad Mehdi had embraced martyrdom.

CJCSC Nadeem Raza, Egyptian President Discuss Ways to expand Bilateral ties

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Nadeem Raza held a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to promote bilateral ties between the two countries.

CJCSC Gen. Nadeem Raza and Abdel Fattah El-Sisi discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and regional security.

“President [El-Sisi] stressed his aspiration to develop bilateral cooperation with Pakistan to encourage the exchange of experiences in various fields,” the President’s office said in a statement on Sunday.

Both the leaders also reaffirmed sharpness to enhance “cooperation and consultation” on various regional issues prioritising measures to combat terrorism and extremist ideology “since it is one of the main challenges facing the world.”

Earlier on Sunday, Gen. Raza also met with Egypt’s Minister of Defense and Military Production and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Mohamed Zaki, to enhance collaboration in various military and security areas.

On June 12, General Nadeem Raza met his Jordanian counterpart Major General Yousef Ahmed during his visit.

ISPR said that various issues including security were discussed during the meeting. During the meeting, the two sides discussed various areas of interest, including security, defence cooperation and the current regional environment.

The ISPR said that steps have been taken to increase the level and scope of military engagements between the two countries and reaffirmed the need to maintain deep ties.

On the occasion, the Chairman JCSC said that Pakistan wanted to increase its existing bilateral military cooperation with Jordan.

ISPR: Passing out Parade of Recruits from Pakistan Rangers Punjab Held Today

The passing out parade ceremony of the 29th Course of Pakistan Rangers Punjab (BTC-29 course) was held at Pakistan Rangers Academy Mandi Baha-Ud-Din, today (Thursday). 

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), DG Rangers Punjab Major General Muhammad Amir Majeed Mughal was the special guest at the passing out parade of Punjab Rangers. A smartly turned-out contingent of Rangers troops presented guard of honour to the chief guest.

As many as 1953 recruits from all parts of the country completed their basic training and formally joined the ranks of Pakistan Rangers (Punjab), ISPR said. 

The ISPR further added that the soldiers of Punjab Rangers have the honour of guarding the eastern borders and at the same time they have an important role in the internal security of the country from Gilgit to Kashmore.

During the parade ceremony, DG Rangers Punjab felicitated the soldiers and their families on the successful training, ISPR added.

Furthermore, DG Rangers Punjab said that safeguarding important installations of the state is also our responsibility.

He also bestowed gifts among the cadets who showed exceptional performance during their training.

Earlier, more than 3000 personnel of Levies and Khasadar forces had completed the second phase of training, ISPR had said in its statement.

According to Pakistan Army’s media wing, in collaboration of Pak Army and Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the second phase of training of former Khasadar and Levies personnel integrated into the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police concluded.

ISPR said that the second phase of training in different areas of the tribal districts conducted from 18 January to 12 April 2021 in which 3300 personnel had integrated into the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police had received training by expert trainers of the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps and KP police.

Moreover, the training had included counter-terrorism, quick reaction force, policing, dealing with IEDs and explosives, awareness of modern equipment, physical fitness and firing practice.

Senior officials of the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps and Police oversaw the ongoing police training on various occasions and expressed satisfaction.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) called on His Excellency Lieutenant General Fayyad Al-Ruwaili, Chief of General Staff (CGS), Saudi Armed Forces in Riyadh, today.

According to the statement released by the media wing of Pakistan Military Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday, matters of mutual interest, regional security situation including Afghan Peace Process, defense and security, and military to military cooperation were discussed during the meeting.

ISPR in its statement added that COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa emphasized the need to further enhance military to military cooperation between the two Armed Forces and said that Pakistan-KSA cooperation will have a positive impact on peace and security in the region.

During the meeting, CGS KSA thanked the COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa for his sentiments and assured of full cooperation and support from KSA in all initiatives aimed at improving regional cooperation, peace, and stability.

COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa arrived in Riyadh on Tuesday ahead of the trip by Prime Minister Imran Khan to Saudi Arabia later this week.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa was received by Pakistan’s recently-appointed Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Lt-Gen (retd) Bilal Akbar and Saudi military officials. He will meet Saudi civil and military leadership in what seems to be part of the preparation of the prime minister’s scheduled to take place on May 7.

The visit of the Army Chief and upcoming trip by the premier is seen as significant as these developments suggest a thaw in ties between the two countries.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Relations

Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have enjoyed a longstanding strategic relationship, which in recent years met with certain roadblocks.

The first real test of their ties came in 2015 when Pakistan refused to send troops to join the Saudi-led military campaign in Yemen.

The relationship returned to some normalcy after Pakistan joined the Saudi-led Islamic military alliance against terrorism and sent former army chief General (retd) Raheel Sharif to attend the group.

When Prime Minister Imran took charge in August 2018, Saudi Arabia extended a $6 billion financial package to Pakistan to shore up its depleting foreign reserves.

ISPR further said that the Army Chief reiterated that peace in Afghanistan means peace in Pakistan.

“Our sole aim is helping Afghan’s achieve a peaceful, sovereign, democratic, stable and prosperous Afghanistan,” said COAS Bajwa.

Furthermore, the visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s contributions to conflict prevention in the region and relentless support provided in Afghan Peace Process.

Earlier, COAS Bajwa had called on Prime Minister Imran Khan and exchanged views on the current political and security situation of the country.

The Pakistan Army team in Nepal has bagged the “Best International Team” title and a gold medal at the 4th COAS International Tri-Adventure Competition on Sunday.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan Army team has taken part in the event for the first time with a total of 20 teams.

In the international category, the Pakistan Army team secured a gold medal, said ISPR.

The event took place between March 18 to March 21, 2021, aiming to test the physical strength and mental alertness of the participants.

Funeral prayers of Sepoy Roshan Ali Shaheed of Pakistan Rangers Sindh, who was martyred on Monday during a blast in Karachi’s Orangi Town number 5, have been offered today in the city.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the last rites of Sepoy Roshan Ali Shaheed offered in Karachi today (Tuesday).

Corps Commander Karachi, Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum, DG Rangers Sindh, Senior civil and military officials and relatives of the martyr have attended the Namaz -e -Janaza, ISPR said.

ISPR further added, the martyred rangers official laid to rest with full military honour.

The Shaheed belonged to village Budhal Khan Solangi, District Noushahro Feroze and has four sons and a daughter, added ISPR.

It is pertinent to mention here that Sepoy Roshan Ali embraced martyrdom in Orangi town after a blast took place near Rangers’ Vehicle on Monday evening.

According to police officials, the intensity of the blast was so severe that people nearby were tapped to the ground and has left eight others wounded.

More than two Rangers officials were injured in the strike. The injured have been moved to a nearby hospital for immediate medical assistance.

Pakistan Army conducted two successful intelligence-based operations (IBO) in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan.

According to a statement by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted an IBO on confirmation of the presence of terrorists in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan.

During the exchange of fire, terrorist commander Hassan Alias Sajna of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Hafiz Gul Bahadur group killed, said ISPR.

ISPR further added that Hassan Alias Sajna was involved in the killing of four women worker yesterday in Mir Ali.

The killed terrorist remained involved in terrorist activities against security Forces and peaceful civilians including IED attacks, kidnapping for ransom, target killing, extortion and also involved in recruiting terrorists.

Army Chief visits Thar to witness ongoing training exercise ‘Jidar-ul-Hadeed’

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has on Monday visited the training area in Thar Desert near Chho and witnessed the ongoing training exercise ‘Jidar-ul-Hadeed’. 

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan Army troops have been undergoing this exercise under strenuous field conditions for over two weeks which will culminate on 28th February.

While lauding the standard of training of participating troops, COAS expressed his complete satisfaction over operational preparedness and combat readiness of the formation.

“Vigorous training and highest standard of preparedness in peacetime are the only guarantors of peace, Army Chief emphasized.

Earlier in a day, Pakistan Army has organized free medical camp and Eye Surgical Camp from 3-15 February in far-flung areas of Cholistan.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), special teams of doctors with the support of the district established medical camps in the areas of Ahmed Pur East, Chanan Pir, and Din Garh. These camps operated special mobile services for the local people.

Pak Army’s media wing further announced that the Mobile health unit had lab and X-Ray facilities as well.

Moreover, laser procedures were also provided by the team for the treatment of cataracts. Free eye checkups were conducted and free glasses were distributed as well.

Apart from that, ISPR further stated that More than 500 free surgical laser procedures were conducted and 4500-5000 people were treated and provided glasses during the activity.

Above all, ISPR announced that such camps will be established regularly throughout the year for the people of the Cholistan and all such areas.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has on Tuesday chaired the 239th Corps Commanders’ Conference at the General Headquarters (GHQ),military media wing stated.

According to the press release issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the participants undertook a comprehensive review of regional and domestic security environment with special focus on situation along borders, internal security and other professional matters of the Army.

In the backdrop of Kashmir Solidarity Day, the forum positively noted the increasing realization at international levels about worsening humanitarian and security crises in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK).

The forum also reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support to resilient Kashmiri people for their just struggle for right to self-determination in accordance with relevant UNSC resolutions, said ISPR.

The Commanders also noted that the enormity of the security challenges warrants a holistic national response, keeping national interest above everything else, added ISPR.

ISPR further added, the participants also underscored the need to ensure continuous operational preparedness to thwart any possible misadventure from adversary.
