Security beefed up around Karachi airport

Security

KARACHI: Security has been further tightened around the Karachi International Airport due to the security concerns which has caused grave inconvenience for visitors and local residents.

According to the police officials, the security around the airport has been increased due to security concerns, under which the road from Model Colony to Jinnah Terminal has been closed for traffic.

The police officials have been deputed at Star Gate to Jinnah Terminal and the road from Pehlwan Goth to the airport.

Traffic is being diverted from Model Colony to Shahrah e Faisal and due to the closure of the road leading to Jinnah Terminal, the flow of traffic on Model Colony Road is affected.

Airline staff, passengers and other employees are facing difficulties in reaching the airport due to road closures  while the surrounding roads are jammed with traffic.

It should be noted that earlier, new rules and conditions were imposed for those coming to see off or receive passengers at the Karachi airport, according to which 4 citizens will be able to go to the airport with one passenger, while in the absence of a copy of the ticket the visitors will not be allowed to enter the airport.
