Police sub-inspector Haider Shah martyred in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Police sub-inspector Haider Ali Shah was martyred in the firing incident within the limits of Shehzad Town Police Station, Islamabad.

Spokesperson Islamabad Police said that the attackers, traveling in a vehicle, suddenly opened indiscriminate gunfire on Haider Ali Shah, leaving him critically injured.

He informed that Haider Ali Shah had reached near his residence on Jhangi Syedan Karpa Road when the assailants, who had been following him in another vehicle, opened fire.

Police spokesperson said Haider Ali succumbed to his injuries despite immediate medical assistance from rescue agencies.

“His body has been shifted to the Polyclinic Hospital for further procedures,” he added.

Haider Ali Shah was posted at the Industrial Area Police Station at the time of his martyrdom. After the shooting, the assailants successfully escaped.

Senior police officials arrived on-site with a heavy contingent to assess the situation thoroughly, collected evidence, and began a search of the area, setting up checkpoints to trace the attackers.

The police will investigate all aspects of the case.

Inspector General (IG) Police, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, has directed the utilization of all available resources to apprehend the perpetrators.

Special teams have been formed to expedite the investigation, with strict orders to bring those responsible to justice swiftly.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has honoured the sacrifice of Sub-Inspector Haider Ali Shah, who was tragically martyred in the line of duty during an encounter with criminal elements in the Krappa Police Station area.

In a solemn message, Minister Naqvi expressed his heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family of the fallen officer, mourning the loss alongside them.

Minister Naqvi conveyed his grief and sorrow to the bereaved family, underscoring the nation’s shared pain.

He has also requested a full report on the tragic incident to understand the circumstances surrounding the attack.

In response to the shooting, the Interior Minister has issued firm orders for the swift apprehension of the suspects involved.

“Bring the suspects to justice immediately,” Naqvi asserted, emphasizing the need for a timely response.

The Interior Minister assured the family of Sub-Inspector Haider Ali Shah of the government’s support.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad police arrested a gang involved robbery worth of millions of rupees in the federal capital.

The accused had robbed a cash van outside the bank in Farash Town on August 27. The accused escaped with Rs 3.68 million in two bags from the cash van.

One security guard was killed and two guards were injured by the firing of the accused.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Syed Mustafa Tanveer said that 19.7 million have been recovered from the two arrested accused. Efforts are on to arrest two more members of the group. 2 vehicles and weapons were also recovered from the possession of the accused.

The DIG further said that the accused are also involved in inter-provincial robbery cases, the main accused of the gang is also involved in robbery cases in Karachi.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police has registered a case of assault on Bushra Bibi’s ex-husband Khawar Farid Maneka.

First Cybercrime Investigation Unit established

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police established Pakistan’s first Cybercrime Investigation Unit.

The in­auguration of Cyber Crime Inves­tigation Unit within the Pakistan police department has been offi­cially established as part of Islam­abad Police’s efforts to strengthen the fight against cybercrime.

This milestone initiative comes on the heels of amendments to the Pre­vention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), empowering Islamabad Police to register cybercrime cas­es under Section 30.

On the other hand, the technical assistance of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) will also be obtained in the investigation.

Moreover, the first phase of training of 60 officers of Islamabad Police has been completed with the support of FIA.

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police have launched the “Knock the Door” campaign to facilitate the registration of domestic employees and bolster law and order in the federal capital.

During the ongoing campaign, dedicated teams from the Islamabad Capital Police are taking to the streets and visiting residences to ensure the registration of both tenants and domestic workers.

Additionally, they are addressing any concerns and issues raised by the citizens. Within the framework of this operation, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Islamabad has already compiled data on 201 domestic employees working in 492 houses within the jurisdiction of Sumbal Police Station during the last 24 hours.

The primary objective of this campaign is to bolster law and order in the federal capital, thereby minimizing the risk of any untoward incidents. Registering tenants and domestic workers not only enables authorities to closely monitor any suspicious activities but also serves as a deterrent against potential wrongdoers.

Citizens are encouraged to verify the identity of individuals dressed in civilian attire who visit their homes to collect data. Unregistered employees and tenants could potentially pose security risks, such as theft and robbery, by impersonating ordinary citizens.

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police formed Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in the domestic worker Rizwana torture case.

The five-member JIT to be formed by the police will be headed by DIG Operations Shahzad Ahmed Bukhari.

The JIT also includes representatives of IB, ISI, SSP CTD, and SSP Investigation.

The notification of the Joint Investigation Team constituted to investigate the Rizwana violence case has also been issued.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, taking notice of the violence against domestic worker Rizwana, sought a report from caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi and directed to provide the best facilities for the girl’s treatment.

The Prime Minister said that all efforts should be made to save the life and recovery of the victim girl, and justice should be ensured for the oppressed girl.

He had said that it should not be taken into account who the accused is, but justice should be ensured, and the implementation of the law should be ensured. The oppressors and lawbreakers do not deserve concessions.
