Amna Ilyas defends Aurat March slogan ‘Mera Jism Meri Marzi’

Amna Ilyas
  • Amna Ilyas dispelled myths about the slogan “Mera Jism Meri Marzi.”
  • Ilyas joined the chorus of feminists who have supported the phrase.
  • She said that It’s about having body autonomy rights and consent.

Amna Ilyas, an actor, was a guest on “The Talk Talk Show” where she discussed being a feminist and dispelled myths about the slogan “Mera Jism Meri Marzi” from the Aurat March. When the placard was held up at the 2018 Aurat March, it sparked uproar since many right-wing critics said that the slogan encourages promiscuity and undermines Pakistani family values. Several religious leaders had cited the poster as evidence for their claims that the Aurat March was anti-Islamic and that it was advancing a Western agenda in Pakistan.

Ilyas joined the chorus of feminist activists who have supported the phrase “Mera Jism Meri Marzi” in defence of women’s right to bodily autonomy, explaining that it was about more than just clothing and defended women’s rights: “It’s about having body autonomy rights and consent. It’s about harassment, domestic violence, and concepts like, ‘No one has the right to touch me without my consent, even if I’m married to you’.”

Ilyas continued by dispelling the myth that women who support feminism are advocating vulgarity while, in truth, the concept backs women’s rights to equal chances with men:

“When we speak of equal rights, it’s about having the same opportunities to thrive in my career as the man beside me. If you’re a father of four children who excel in your profession, why can’t I do the same? Honestly, it’s not about whether you’re getting permission to wear jeans or not. What we truly need, is the space to work in a cerebral capacity,” she stated.

On the work front, she has been a part of various hit projects including  Zinda Bhaag, Good Morning Karachi, Saat Din Mohabbat In, Baaji, and Ready Steady No.

  • He made his Coke Studio debut with the song Peechay Hutt.
  • Raheem has dedicated these lyrics and the song to Aurat March.

Hasan Raheem, a Pakistani rapper, singer, and songwriter who made his Coke Studio debut with the song Peechay Hutt revealed on Tuesday that the song would serve as the “Aurat March” anthem. The inspirational song, which also appeared in the Marvel series Ms Marvel, was created in collaboration with Talal Qureshi and featured Justin Bibis, two local singers who became famous for their brilliant impersonations of international pop star Justin Bieber. Recently, the song was played during the rally for Aurat March Lahore.

The Aurat March handle tweeted a video of women dancing to the song and added their own spin to the lyrics, writing: “Rasta choriae ab ham aa gayae/Garbar ke bawajood March kar gayae/Mashra aur state khechain tangain, phir bhi chah gayae na/Peechay hutt [Make way, now we’re here/despite problems, we’ve held the march/the society and the state pulls our legs, but we’ve still conquered].”

A few days later, Hasan wrote on Twitter:

Raheem has now dedicated these lyrics and the song—to all women who fight against patriarchy, confront obstacles, and stay firm in their demands for equality.

The singer further tweeted:

The passion of the songwriter has received praise on Twitter. Many individuals have expressed their appreciation for the singer and praised the action by tweeting:

The lyrics appear to be a celebration of Justin Bibis’ own success, as they evolved from internet memes to singing superstars.

In 2021, Saania Sohail, 21, and Muqadas Jandad, 18, finally received their big break when they were selected to perform in Coke Studio, six years after their internet-famous video of them singing Justin Bieber’s “Baby” went viral.

Who are the models of vulgar photoshoot in front of Quaid-e-Azam statue and who is responsible for it?

vulgar photoshoot

A few days ago, pictures of an extremely vulgar photoshoot in front of the Quaid-e-Azam statue in Islamabad went viral.

Who are the models of this vulgar photoshoot and who is responsible for it?

The couple can be seen wearing obscene clothes for a photoshoot. The shoot was done in front of the Quaid-e-Azam statue which has sparked outrage online, and a lot of people have criticized this act.

The question is, why are obscenity and nudity being encouraged? And even if it is being done, why does it have to be somewhere near Quaid-e-Azam memorial? Did the Quaid work day and night for such freedom?

Who are the models of this photoshoot?

The boy in the photoshoot is Zulfiqar and the girl is KC, from New York.

Keep in mind that these two are playing a vital role in promoting homosexuality. The brand is a musical brand called Mystic Poetry.

According to a private website, the brand Mystic Poetry is also sponsored by the Pro Pakistani Group.

Who did this photoshoot? Who is responsible for this?

This photoshoot has been done by the liberal class community living in Pakistan who organized the women’s march in Pakistan and rallied the women’s march in Karachi and different parts of the country including Islamabad; hence, they are responsible for it.

Zulfiqar and KC, from the Mystic Poetry brand, performed when the Aurat March was staged at Frere Hall in Karachi in 2020.

However, they were later asked by a liberal group to do such a photoshoot.

Who is the clothing designer?

The dress worn in this vulgar photoshoot is designed by Raja Wasey, who identifies himself as a drag artist on Instagram.

However, in this photoshoot, quite immoral clothes were worn which is completely contrary to Pakistani traditions and it was a western dress, not only the girl but also the boy was dressed like a girl and it is clear that these people are from the country.

Who is the photographer of this photoshoot?

This photoshoot was taken by a photographer named Eman Mahsud.

Eman Mahsud, a photographer, is said to be from Islamabad and plays placards and photo shoots that have nothing to do with our culture in promoting liberalism.

MoFA honours the remarkable resilience, leadership of all women

International Women's Day

International Women’s Day is being celebrated today in Pakistan and across the globe to raise awareness about women empowerment, necessity for equal respect and rights, identity and leadership.

International Women’s Day 2021 Theme

This year’s theme for International Women’s Day is Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world, Women deserve the right to gain an equal future and recovery from the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.

In this regard, the ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has paid a rich tribute to all the women out there in recognition of the services of women who have always been determined to pledge their lives for the security of the country.

In is official tweet, MoFA wrote, “On #InternationalWomensDay, we pay rich tribute to women across the globe and Pakistan, who have shaped future of world and our nation with their immense contribution.”

“This day should also serve as a solemn reminder to int’l community of the need to address systematic violence against women of IoJK.” the tweet read.

Furthermore, MoFA, while commemorating this day, said that we cannot forget the plight of women in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Over the last seven decades, they have endured the worst forms of human rights abuse and oppression at the hands of Indian occupation forces including sexual violence, rape, and molestation.

The international community must take cognizance of these serious crimes and hold India accountable, it said.

The road to women empowerment and gender equality is a long one. Pakistan’s direction, commitment and actions are clear. We will continue to resolutely pursue the full realization of women’s rights, added the ministry.

UN Women’s Statements About Women’s Day 2021

The United Nations’ website ‘UN Women’ has shared a comprehensive note to honor women on this day. It states, “Women’s full and effective participation and leadership in of all areas of life drives progress for everyone. Yet, they are still underrepresented in public life and decision-making, as revealed in the UN Secretary-General’s recent report. Women are Heads of State or Government in 22 countries, and only 24.9 percent of national parliamentarians are women. At the current rate of progress, gender equality among Heads of Government will take another 130 years.”

As ladies demand generation equality, they have the right to enjoy an equal future. It is because they remained determined and fought the pandemic with all their energy.

It should be noted that on International Women’s Day, various events, seminars and demonstrations are held in almost all countries of the world every year and their rights are highlighted and services are recognized.

Google Pays Tribute To All The Women Across World On Int’l Women’s Day

International women's day 2021

On the annual International Women’s Day, Google pays tribute to all the women across the world and highlighted all the female superheroes who have challenged the status quo and established their names in education, civil rights, science, art, and so much more.

The video Doodle is a homage to all the women who have helped to open the closed doors for generations of women.

“Suffragists, academics, gold medalists, entrepreneurs and more—today’s Doodle celebrates the women around the world who overcame the obstacles of their time to create a lasting legacy”, wrote Google.

International Women’s Day (IWD) was the result of a labor movement.

According to the international news agency, the day originated when 15,000 women marched through New York City as they demanded shorter working hours, better salaries, and the right to vote.

A year later, the Socialist Party of America declared the first National Women’s Day.

The day was made international because of a woman named Clara Zetkin. According to the international news agency, she proposed the concept at an international Conference of Working Women in Copenhagen. Over 100 women from 17 countries were present at the event and they all agreed.

IWD was first celebrated in 1911 in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland. However, it was made official when the United Nations officially began celebrating the day in 1975.

The UN presented the first theme of IWD in 1996 and the theme was, “Celebrating the Past, Planning for the Future”.

IWD gained pace and was formalized during the war-time strike in 1917 when Russian women demanded “bread and peace”. After the women’s strike, the provincial government offered women the right to vote.
