March 8 is observed as International Women’s Day throughout the world. The special day is observed to recognise the contributions made by women and to spread awareness of gender equality and inequities. Kriti Sanon, who last appeared with Varun Dhawan in Bhediya, recently made an appearance on Woman Up Season 4 and discussed International Women’s Day. She provided some wise counsel for the females out there.

While speaking about International Women’s Day, the ace actress, who has managed to impress the audience time and again, emphasised that women should follow their passion. She added that everybody may discover their passion. Kriti stated: “Find your passion, I always advise, is all I have to say. Acting today is something that I am passionate about. If you pursue your passion professionally, you will never feel like you are working, which I believe is crucial. You will perform well when you are excited about what you are doing. Today, whatever I do, whether I’m an actor or a business owner, is driven by passion.”

Said she, “Another brand, which is likewise the result of love, is one that I’ll definitely introduce this year. As a result, when something is coming from a place of great passion, love, and something you truly like doing, you put a lot more effort and heart into it and it doesn’t feel like work or a burden. You succeed in it and perform effectively. So, in my opinion, that is crucial. I would advise all ladies that they can discover their passion at any age, and that there are no restrictions on what their interest might be.”

Kriti is prepared to appear with Prabhas in Adipurush on the professional front. It will be their first time working together. Saif Ali Khan and Sunny Singh play significant roles in the movie as well. Also, she is working on the movies Ganapath, starring Tiger Shroff, and Shahid Kapoor.

EU
  • Sanctions have been imposed on nine individuals and three official organizations.
  • The names are likely to be formally added to the EU sanctions list later today.
  • Member states had approved them.

BRUSSELS – The European Union sanctioned officials from six countries, including Russia and Afghanistan, on Tuesday ahead of International Women’s Day for violence and human rights violations against women.

Sanctions have been imposed on nine individuals and three official organizations, subjecting them to travel bans and the freezing of any assets held in the EU.

Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Fedorov and his deputy Ivan Ryabov are accused of ordering the arrest and torture of female anti-war protestors.

Russian special forces commander Major General Nikolai Kuznetsov and tank commander Colonel Ramil Ibatullin have also been named, as have units accused of systematic rape and sexual abuse in Ukraine.

The Taliban minister for higher education, Neda Mohammad Nadeem, and the minister for virtue propagation and vice repression, Muhammad Khalid Hanafi, are also named from Afghanistan.

The former is accused of depriving women of education, while the latter is accused of “restricting their freedom of expression and inflicting harsh punishments and brutality on those who do not obey the Taliban’s edicts.”

In South Sudan, Gatluak Nyang Hoth, the commissioner of Mayiandit county, and Gordon Koang Biel, the commissioner of Koch county, are accused of making “widespread and systematic use of sexual violence as a war tactic and instrumentalized it as a reward and entitlement for men participating in the conflict.”

Myanmar’s deputy minister of home affairs Toe Ui is said to have allowed military security agents to “use forced nudity, rape, electro-shocks, burning of genitalia and excessive violence during the arbitrary detention and interrogation of men, women.

Ui is a former head of the Office of the Chief of Military Security Affairs (OCMSA), which is listed separately as an agency responsible “for systematic and widespread sexual and gender-based violence.”

Iran’s Qarchak jail in Tehran province is identified as a place where guards sexually abuse women and threaten them with rape in order to elicit false confessions.

In Syria, the government is claimed to have ordered the Republican Guard to “employ sexual and gender-based violence to suppress and intimidate the Syrian people, particularly women, and girls.”

The names are likely to be formally added to the EU sanctions list later today, but diplomatic sources told that member states had approved them.

“By imposing these sanctions, we’re sending a clear message to perpetrators that they won’t get away with their crimes,” the Netherlands’ foreign minister Wopke Hoekstra said in a news release.

“This is also a message to the victims: the EU will support you, wherever you are in the world. Sanctions are a powerful way for us to stand up for universal values and force international change,” he said.

“We will not hesitate to expand the list to include other perpetrators of sexual violence.”

MoFA honours the remarkable resilience, leadership of all women

International Women's Day

International Women’s Day is being celebrated today in Pakistan and across the globe to raise awareness about women empowerment, necessity for equal respect and rights, identity and leadership.

International Women’s Day 2021 Theme

This year’s theme for International Women’s Day is Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world, Women deserve the right to gain an equal future and recovery from the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.

In this regard, the ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has paid a rich tribute to all the women out there in recognition of the services of women who have always been determined to pledge their lives for the security of the country.

In is official tweet, MoFA wrote, “On #InternationalWomensDay, we pay rich tribute to women across the globe and Pakistan, who have shaped future of world and our nation with their immense contribution.”

“This day should also serve as a solemn reminder to int’l community of the need to address systematic violence against women of IoJK.” the tweet read.

Furthermore, MoFA, while commemorating this day, said that we cannot forget the plight of women in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Over the last seven decades, they have endured the worst forms of human rights abuse and oppression at the hands of Indian occupation forces including sexual violence, rape, and molestation.

The international community must take cognizance of these serious crimes and hold India accountable, it said.

The road to women empowerment and gender equality is a long one. Pakistan’s direction, commitment and actions are clear. We will continue to resolutely pursue the full realization of women’s rights, added the ministry.

UN Women’s Statements About Women’s Day 2021

The United Nations’ website ‘UN Women’ has shared a comprehensive note to honor women on this day. It states, “Women’s full and effective participation and leadership in of all areas of life drives progress for everyone. Yet, they are still underrepresented in public life and decision-making, as revealed in the UN Secretary-General’s recent report. Women are Heads of State or Government in 22 countries, and only 24.9 percent of national parliamentarians are women. At the current rate of progress, gender equality among Heads of Government will take another 130 years.”

As ladies demand generation equality, they have the right to enjoy an equal future. It is because they remained determined and fought the pandemic with all their energy.

It should be noted that on International Women’s Day, various events, seminars and demonstrations are held in almost all countries of the world every year and their rights are highlighted and services are recognized.
