In compliance with directives from Islamabad Capital Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Traffic Division of Islamabad Capital Police has initiated a crackdown on vehicles and motorcycles equipped with tinted windows and decorative number plates.

According to a police spokesperson, enforcement actions have been taken against owners and drivers of 5,554 vehicles and motorcycles. Additionally, 199 vehicles and motorcycles have been impounded and detained at various police stations.

Legal measures were undertaken against 1,884 vehicles with tinted windows, resulting in 77 of them being impounded at various police stations. Safe City Islamabad has also issued fines to over 1,900 vehicles and motorcycles found to have improper or decorative number plates.

Senior police officials emphasized that driving vehicles with tinted windows in Islamabad is strictly prohibited, and no department has the authority to grant permission for their use.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Muhammad Sarfraz Virk urged citizens to voluntarily remove tinted films from their vehicles. Special checkpoints have been established by Islamabad Capital Police in various parts of the city to enforce this regulation.

Citizens have been urged to cooperate with law enforcement authorities during the campaign against tinted windows.
