LAHORE: The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed on the student protest in Lahore has decided to summon the disinformation spreaders.

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Interior has formed a six-member Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to prevent the misleading campaign on social media against Supreme Court judges.

According to the Home Ministry notification, the Additional Director General  Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) ‘s Cyber ​​Crime Wing will be the convener of the JIT. The representatives of Intelligence Bureau(IB), Inter-Services Intelligence(ISI), Deputy Inspector General(DIG) Islamabad Police, representative of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority(PTA) and any other co-opted member.

The notification states that the representative of IB and ISI included in the JIT will be a grade 20 officer.

The notification stated that JIT will identify the accused and bring them to book and give recommendations to prevent such incidents in the future.

The notification states that the JIT will trace out nefarious campaigners against Supreme Court judges and produce challans against the nefarious campaigners.

The JIT will submit a preliminary report to the Home Ministry within 15 days.

It should be noted that the lawyers’ organizations of the country have demanded action against those campaigning on social media against Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa.

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court(SHC) has rejected the report of the police and Joint Investigation Team regarding the missing persons and has ordered to trace the missing persons from every angle.

Sindh High Court Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto heard the late petitions for the recovery of the missing persons. During this, the court also expressed anger at the JIT officials for not tracing the missing persons and summoned the JIT chief and the provincial task force chief.

The court said that if the missing persons cannot be traced in the JIT then this action is futile.  Court remarked even after 26 JITs meeting if it cannot be traced, then everything is futile.

During the hearing, the Sindh High Court rejected the police report and ordered the release of the JIT report three days after the hearing.

The court also expressed dissatisfaction with the report of the Federal Ministry of Interior and Defense and said that this will not work now, the missing persons have to be traced or action will be taken against the investigating officer.

In the report of the Ministry of Interior, it was stated that the said missing persons are not in the detention center of any federal institution.

The court ordered to trace of the missing persons from every angle and said that immediate steps should be taken to recover the missing Noor Zaman, Haider, Talha, Khair ur Rehman, and others.

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has given its verdict in a case related to the medical college admission test Medical & Dental College Admission Test(MDCAT) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

The PHC upheld KP government’s decision to conduct the medical college admission test again in six weeks.

In its written verdict, the high court observed that the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) exposed cheating during the Medical and Dental College admission tests (MDCAT) tests in KP.

In view of the JIT report, the KP government had decided to conduct the MDCAT test again. The high court stated in its verdict that the court would not interfere in the matter after the approval of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet.

While upholding the decision, the PHC ordered to conduct MDCAT tests in six weeks in accordance with the cabinet’s directives besides ensuring transparency.

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior Rana Sanaullah Khan said the government has decided to set up a high-level joint investigation team (JIT) to investigate four cases filed against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan and his supporters for allegedly attacking courts and law enforcers, vandalism and stopping the court from functioning.

In a press conference here, the minister said the JIT would be headed by Additional Inspector General of Police Special Branch Punjab Zulfiqar Hameed and representatives of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Intelligence Bureau (IB), Military Intelligence (MI) and DIG Headquarters Islamabad Awais Ahmad.

Rana Sanaullah said that action will be taken against the named accused in the cases of vandalism in the judicial complex as well as Islamabad High Court and attacks on security forces.

He said that BPS-18 officers from ISI, IB and MI will be members of the JIT including DIG Headquarters Islamabad. He said that in 14 days, the JIT will investigate and present the challan in the court and bring the culprits into justice.

The minister said there are other cases filed against Imran Khan including Tosha Khana and foreign funding and he should face the courts instead of attacking them. On February 28, he said that Imran Khan came with violent protestors who forcibly entered the complex by breaking the main gate and damaging the CCTV cameras.

Following this incident, he said that a case was registered with Ramana police station which included various criminal sections including terrorism.

After that, he said that Imran Niazi came to Islamabad High Court and similarly broke the gate with a group and damaged things.

The minister said that Imran Khan, accompanied by an armed group, came to appear in a court of Islamabad once again on March 18 which also brought stocks of sticks and stones along with weapons.

He said the government has decided to take action against miscreants who pelted stones at the security forces and damaged public property

The hearing on the Arshad Sharif case will be held tomorrow at eleven o’clock in courtroom number one.

It should be noted that the Supreme Court has sought a report on the investigation in the UAE and Kenya from the special Joint Investigation Team(JIT) set up to investigate the Arshad Sharif murder case.

A few weeks ago, the JIT established in the murder case of a Pakistani journalist and senior Bol News anchor Arshad Sharif, returned to Pakistan after completing its investigation.
It should be noted that the five-member special JIT was headed by DIG Headquarters Awais Ahmed, while other officers included Deputy DG Sajid Kayani from IB and Muhammad Aslam from ISI.
