Hyderabad lawyers end protest after transfer of SSP

KARACHI: The Sindh Government has transferred SSP Hyderabad Dr Farrukh Ali Lanjhar , effectively ending the ongoing dispute between police and lawyers.

After the transfer of SSP Hyderabad, the lawyer’s community ended the boycott of court proceedings. On the occasion, lawyers in the Hyderabad District Bar congratulated each other on the transfer of SSP Dr Farrukh Ali Lanjhar.

District Bar President Ashir Majeed said SSP Hyderabad Farrukh Lanjar has been transferred after the lawyers struggle. He said Sindh government has issued transfer notification of SSP Hyderabad Farrukh Lanjhar.

Asar Majeed said, “We had no personal dispute with anyone but it was a matter of dignity of the lawyers”.

Last month, in Hyderabad, Bhitai Nagar Police Station filed a case against Ali Raza Advocate under the provisions of fraud and fraud on charges of setting a fake number plate against Ali Raza Advocate. on which the lawyers community held a sit -in at the SSP office Hyderabad.

SHC issues arrest warrant of MD Water Corporation

Karachi: The Sindh High Court(SHC) has issued an arrest warrant for Managing Director (MD) Water Corporation in the case of non-implementation of court orders.

The Sindh High Court has ordered the concerned SSP to comply with the arrest warrant and to ensure the appearance of MD Water Corporation in the court on the next hearing.

The court said that the MD Water Corporation has issued a bailable warrant of Rs 100,000, this is the procedure of the Water Corporation officers in every case, the cases are pending for 4 years, why these cases have not been resolved so far.

Later, on the order of the Sindh High Court, Advocate General Sindh Hassan Akbar appeared and sought respite to submit a report regarding the execution of the court order, on which the court granted the respite request and adjourned the hearing till September 16.

It should be noted that cases related to tariff and non-payment of dues have been filed against the Water Corporation and the Sindh High Court had sought an explanation from the Government of Sindh and the Water Corporation on these matters.

Female school teacher comes under acid attack in Lahore

LAHORE: Two motorcyclists threw acid on the face of a female school teacher in the Shahdara Town area of Lahore, Punjab province.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr. Anoosh Masood said that the face of the school teacher was burnt with acid and the woman was shifted to the hospital for medical assistance.

She said that the main accused Umar Dogar had reached Sialkot Airport to escape abroad after allegedly throwing acid on a lady school teacher, who was promptly arrested by the police.

According to Dr. Anoosh Masood, the accused Umar said that he wanted to marry the victim’s lady school teacher, but the school teacher refused to marry him, and he got angry and threw acid on her face.

The police took the victim’s school teacher to the hospital and recorded her statement, while police teams are conducting raids to arrest co-accused Ghulam Mustafa.

KP’s lady police officer wins international award

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and District Police Officer (DPO) Battagram Sonia Shamroz Khan won the prestigious international policing officer of the year award.

DPO Battagram Sonia Shamroz was awarded for excellence in policing and prevention of violence against women. SSP Sonia Shamroz was honored by the International Association of Women Police and was awarded the Police Officer of the Year Award in Auckland, New Zealand.

Sonia Shamroz Khan has also worked as DPO Chitral and other posts. She also established a complaint cell to prevent forced marriages.

SSP Sonia Shamroz said that she names her award in the name of women victims of gender discrimination and hard-working women police officers.

She said that women police officers are working tirelessly to ensure peace and security, keeping cultural norms and sensitivity in mind while working, which is why the reporting of crimes related to women has increased.

She said that in Battagram, women did not come to the police station to file a report, now women come to seek our help.
