FIA arrests three over fake US visa documents

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad police arrested a gang involved robbery worth of millions of rupees in the federal capital.

The accused had robbed a cash van outside the bank in Farash Town on August 27. The accused escaped with Rs 3.68 million in two bags from the cash van.

One security guard was killed and two guards were injured by the firing of the accused.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Syed Mustafa Tanveer said that 19.7 million have been recovered from the two arrested accused. Efforts are on to arrest two more members of the group. 2 vehicles and weapons were also recovered from the possession of the accused.

The DIG further said that the accused are also involved in inter-provincial robbery cases, the main accused of the gang is also involved in robbery cases in Karachi.

Sindh to introduce online driving license service for citizens

KARACHI: Sindh Police has decided to introduce online service for citizens who want to get driving license (DL) at home.

A meeting was held in CPO under the chairmanship of Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon regarding the facilitation of online driving license issuance in which the DIG DL Branch Sindh briefed the participants on various aspects.

The DIG said that the online driving license service will be enabled from next week. The citizens will be able to benefit from online learning and renewal including international DL at home.

In the briefing, it was mentioned that the online facility will include details, license fee and the bank collecting the fee. The citizens will have to submit medical fitness and B-form for license renewal or permanent.

The DIG said that medical fitness and B- form will have to be submitted from an authorized private or government hospital while proposals related to medical fitness and B-form for overseas DL renewal are under consideration.

In the meeting, IG Ghulam Nabi Memon expressed that online DL should be started on an experimental basis, in the future mobile van facility can also be introduced for the convenience of citizens.

Ghulam Nabi Memon said that the purpose of issuing online DL is to provide adequate facilities to citizens and added that driving license data will be digitized using modern technology.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Counter Terrorism Department said arrested terrorists received training in Afghanistan and Kurram. He added that terrorists were instructed by Mufti Sajjad from Afghanistan.

Court allows Chairman PTI’s arrest in Jinnah House attack case

LAHORE: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Lahore has allowed the arrest of the former Prime Minister and Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Jinnah House (Crops Commander House Lahore) attack case.

The application was filed in the court by the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police Investigation.
In the petition, permission was sought to arrest the PTI chairman for investigation.

After hearing the application, the Anti-Terrorism Court allowed to arrest former prime minister.

It should be noted that Chairman PTI has been sentenced to three years imprisonment by the District and Sessions Court of Islamabad on August 5 in the Toshakhana criminal case.

He is also a named accused in the cases registered against the violent incidents of May 9.
