ISLAMABAD: Following the suicide attack that took place in the federal capital days ago, a ‘special security plan’ has been devised by the police.
Given the current security threat, the law enforcement agency has said that at least 25 temporary security check posts have been established at different locations in Islamabad.
Islamabad police while taking it to Twitter said that Metro service passengers’ video will be recorded as a security measure and requested the citizens to carry their identification documents along.
The police also warned the vehicle owners with illegal number plates and unregistered vehicles and said that strict action will be taken.
Moreover, foreigners are also advised to carry their identification documents with them and the locals must register tenants and employees at the police station.
“Citizens employing unregistered local or foreign workers will also be investigated.”
Earlier, the US embassy in Islamabad issued a security alert and prohibited its staff from visiting the Marriott Hotel due to concerns of a “possible attack”.
“The US government is aware of information that unknown individuals are possibly plotting to attack Americans at the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad sometime during the holidays,” it said in an alert.
