CJCSC, Tajikistan Defence Minister Discuss Counter-Terrorism, Other matters

Minister of Defence of Tajikistan Colonel General Sherali Mirzo called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Nadeem Raza at Joint Staff Headquarters, Rawalpindi on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the Tajikistan defence minister and CJCSC discussed various areas of interest, bilateral cooperation including security, counter-terrorism and the prevailing regional environment particularly with reference to Afghanistan.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the visiting dignitaries dilated upon measures to intensify the level and scope of military engagements between both countries and reaffirmed to continue to forge deeper ties.

Previously, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa had appreciated Tajikistan’s efforts towards regional connectivity.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa had made the comments while talking to Defence Minister of Tajikistan Colonel-General Sheralli Mirzo.

Matters of mutual interests, overall regional situation including recent developments in Afghanistan especially situation on Tajik-Afghan border and measures to further enhance bilateral defence collaboration had discussed in the meeting, said ISPR.

The COAS had said that Pakistan values its brotherly relations with Tajikistan, which are based on shared faith, culture and convergence on all important issues relating to regional peace, security and stability.

Earlier, the Commander of the National Guard of the Kingdom of Bahrain General Sheikh Mohamed Bin Isa Al-Khalifa had called on CJCSC General Nadeem Raza.

During the meeting, he and Commander National Guard of Bahrain discussed matters related to mutual interest and hope to strengthen bilateral ties.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), matters regarding regional security and the Afghan peace process between both armies were discussed.

CJCSC Nadeem Raza, Egyptian President Discuss Ways to expand Bilateral ties

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Nadeem Raza held a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to promote bilateral ties between the two countries.

CJCSC Gen. Nadeem Raza and Abdel Fattah El-Sisi discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and regional security.

“President [El-Sisi] stressed his aspiration to develop bilateral cooperation with Pakistan to encourage the exchange of experiences in various fields,” the President’s office said in a statement on Sunday.

Both the leaders also reaffirmed sharpness to enhance “cooperation and consultation” on various regional issues prioritising measures to combat terrorism and extremist ideology “since it is one of the main challenges facing the world.”

Earlier on Sunday, Gen. Raza also met with Egypt’s Minister of Defense and Military Production and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Mohamed Zaki, to enhance collaboration in various military and security areas.

On June 12, General Nadeem Raza met his Jordanian counterpart Major General Yousef Ahmed during his visit.

ISPR said that various issues including security were discussed during the meeting. During the meeting, the two sides discussed various areas of interest, including security, defence cooperation and the current regional environment.

The ISPR said that steps have been taken to increase the level and scope of military engagements between the two countries and reaffirmed the need to maintain deep ties.

On the occasion, the Chairman JCSC said that Pakistan wanted to increase its existing bilateral military cooperation with Jordan.

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of Air Staff, has expressed his profound grief on the sad demise of former Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral (Retd) Karamat Rahman Niazi.

The Air Chief extend his condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal bliss of the deceased.

Lauding the meritorious services of the Admiral, he said, “Admiral Karamat was an epitome of excellence & would remain a role model for generations of officers and sailors.

Moreover, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and CJCSC General Nadeem Raza also felt deeply grieved by the sad demise of Admiral Karamat.

Note that Admiral Karamat Khan Niazi served as CNS from 1979 to 1983 in Pakistan Navy.

He is renowned for being the commander of the submarine Ghazi during the second war with India in 1965.

CJCSC Discuss Regional Security With Commander National Guard of Bahrain

The Commander of the National Guard of the Kingdom of Bahrain General Sheikh Mohamed Bin lsa Al-Khalifa called on Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Nadeem Raza on Monday.

During the meeting, the CJCSC and Commander National Guard of Bahrain discussed matters related to mutual interest and hope to strengthen bilateral ties.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), matters regarding regional security and the Afghan peace process between both armies were discussed.

On the occasion, Gen. Nadeem Raza said that Pakistan values its strong diplomatic, economic, and defence relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Commander National Guard acknowledges the stellar sacrifices made by the Pakistan Army in the fight against terrorism, ISPR added.

ISPR further said that the visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s positive role in regional peace and stability.

Earlier in the day, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa held a meeting with newly-appointed Air Chief Zaheer Ahmed Babar at GHQ today.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the meeting, the COAS felicitated Zaheer Ahmed Babar for taking the command as the new Air Chief of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

He also congratulated the new Air Chief after he was accorded the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) by President Arif Alvi on Monday.

The COAS also expressed best wishes to Air Chief Zaheer Ahmad Babar, ISPR added.

Earlier, Pakistan Aeronautical Complex had formally launched the production work of Block-III of JF-17 Thunder aircraft on the completion of a dual-seat JF-17 fighter jet.

Air Chief Marshal, Mujahid Anwar Khan and Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong had attended the launching ceremony at Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Kamra.

The Chief of Air Staff had emphasized indigenization and self-reliance in military hardware.

He praised the initiatives of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Kamra for the design, development, manufacturing, and overhaul of aerial warfare assets.

He had also applauded the collaboration between the aviation industries of Pakistan and China.

President Alvi, CJCSC Nadeem Raza discuss national security, IoK situation

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Nadeem Raza, called on President Dr. Arif Alvi at Aiwan-e-Sadr here on Thursday (today). 

They both discussed the regional and national security situation and matters related to Indian brutalities in Kashmir.

President Alvi also condemned the heinous act of terrorism by Indian Army in Indian Occupied Jummu and Kashmir (IOJ&K).

Earlier in a day, President Alvi has said that Pakistan will stand by Kashmir while India is backtracking on its promises made to the international community. The world should recognize India’s irresponsible behavior as nuclear power.

He further said that India was using all means to suppress the sentiments of the people of Kashmir in occupied Kashmir which was a violation of their fundamental rights.

He said that Kashmiri people were continuing their struggle against Indian domination.

The President said that it was the responsibility of Pakistan to support the Kashmiri people in their struggle and to make the international community aware of the Kashmir issue.

He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had persuaded the UN General Assembly to hold a referendum in the occupied valley and provide them justice.

Dr. Arif Alvi rejected the international community’s view that the Kashmir issue was merely a state dispute.
