IoJK is facing the worst humanitarian, security crisis, says Army Chief

Conventional capabilities’ continuous up-gradation imperative for maintaining edge: COAS

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has on Tuesday chaired the 239th Corps Commanders’ Conference at the General Headquarters (GHQ),military media wing stated.

According to the press release issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the participants undertook a comprehensive review of regional and domestic security environment with special focus on situation along borders, internal security and other professional matters of the Army.

In the backdrop of Kashmir Solidarity Day, the forum positively noted the increasing realization at international levels about worsening humanitarian and security crises in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK).

The forum also reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support to resilient Kashmiri people for their just struggle for right to self-determination in accordance with relevant UNSC resolutions, said ISPR.

The Commanders also noted that the enormity of the security challenges warrants a holistic national response, keeping national interest above everything else, added ISPR.

ISPR further added, the participants also underscored the need to ensure continuous operational preparedness to thwart any possible misadventure from adversary.

The forum also expressed complete satisfaction over countering hostile intelligence agencies’ design to disrupt peace and progress particularly in Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan which lay exposed to the entire world thus vindicating Pakistan’s stance on role of hostile agencies in training and funding of terrorists.

Dividends of improved security situation including return of international cricket in the country is a result of numerous sacrifices rendered and challenges overcome to eliminate extremism and terrorism from Pakistan. We will stay the course InshaAllah, COAS concluded.

President Alvi, CJCSC Nadeem Raza discuss national security, IoK situation

CJCSC Nadeem Raza meets President Arif Alvi

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Nadeem Raza, called on President Dr. Arif Alvi at Aiwan-e-Sadr here on Thursday (today). 

They both discussed the regional and national security situation and matters related to Indian brutalities in Kashmir.

President Alvi also condemned the heinous act of terrorism by Indian Army in Indian Occupied Jummu and Kashmir (IOJ&K).

Earlier in a day, President Alvi has said that Pakistan will stand by Kashmir while India is backtracking on its promises made to the international community. The world should recognize India’s irresponsible behavior as nuclear power.

He further said that India was using all means to suppress the sentiments of the people of Kashmir in occupied Kashmir which was a violation of their fundamental rights.

He said that Kashmiri people were continuing their struggle against Indian domination.

The President said that it was the responsibility of Pakistan to support the Kashmiri people in their struggle and to make the international community aware of the Kashmir issue.

He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had persuaded the UN General Assembly to hold a referendum in the occupied valley and provide them justice.

Dr. Arif Alvi rejected the international community’s view that the Kashmir issue was merely a state dispute.
