Aditya Chopra is now gearing up to present Junaid Khan, Aamir Khan’s son, in his debut film titled “Maharaj.” In an exclusive update, it has been revealed that the movie will have a global release on Netflix.

YRF Entertainment, the digital division of Yash Raj Films, is committed to producing groundbreaking content for the streaming era. They have partnered with Netflix India to release “Maharaj,” a gripping drama featuring Junaid Khan in the lead role, along with Jaideep Ahlawat, Sharvari, and Shalini Pandey. This collaboration between YRF and Netflix signifies a long-term association, as they previously collaborated on “The Romantics,” a highly acclaimed docu-series exploring the history of Hindi cinema through Yash Raj Films’ perspective.

Directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra, known for “Hichki,” and written by Vipul Mehta and Sneha Desai, “Maharaj” presents an engaging David vs. Goliath narrative inspired by true events. The story unfolds in the 1800s and revolves around a journalist who confronts a revered figure in society, often regarded as a savior by the masses. Junaid portrays the journalist’s role, while Jaideep Ahlawat takes on the primary antagonist. Details about the characters played by Sharvari and Shalini Pandey are being kept confidential for now. An official announcement from YRF regarding the film is anticipated soon.

The talented artist, known for his exceptional work in films like Lagaan, Jodhaa Akbar, and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, tragically died by suicide at the age of 57 at his ND Studios in Karjat. Bollywood actors and filmmakers, including Aamir Khan, gathered at ND Studios on August 4 to pay their last respects to the late artist.

Aamir Khan, who had collaborated with Nitin Desai on several films, expressed his shock and grief at the funeral. Speaking to the media, he said, “This is very shocking news. I am unable to understand how did this happen. I can’t believe it. I wish he did not do this and reached out for help instead. But what can we say in such a tragic situation, it is very difficult to understand what has happened. It is very sad…We have lost someone who was very talented.”

Among the attendees at the funeral were Ashutosh Gowariker, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Mukesh Rishi, Manoj Joshi, Madhur Bhandarkar, and Sonali Kulkarni. Despite Nitin Desai having worked with numerous top Bollywood celebrities, the turnout was relatively low. Aamir Khan addressed this matter, stating that perhaps some people couldn’t come for various reasons. He emphasized that Nitin Desai held a special place in everyone’s heart, and he offered his heartfelt condolences to the grieving family.

Nitin Desai’s impressive contributions to the film industry were not only recognized by moviegoers but also honored with four National Awards. His immense talent extended beyond films, as his vast studio also played host to Salman Khan’s reality show, Bigg Boss.

But Aamir said, ‘No, I am sure you’ll be able to do it.’ Aur Aamir ko na bolna toh mumkin hi nahi hai, and he had so much confidence in me, so I got the courage to do it.”

Dalip Tahil praises the film’s believable characterizations, making it an evergreen family favorite with a fantastic star cast. Tahil fondly recalls Aamir’s prank with real eggs during a scene, adding humour and authenticity to the shot. He stated, “The eggs were supposed to be artificial but Aamir bought real ones with small cracks. The moment gave everyone a good laugh, and it helped in making the shot look more real and natural.”

Tahil shares an amusing incident where he reunited with child actor Kunal Khemu after many years and was surprised to learn that they had worked together in the film. He added, “Kunal Khemu was a kid and he was having so much fun on the sets. After many years, he told me that we have done a movie together. I couldn’t remember. I started thinking. And then he told me that he was one of those child actors from the film.”

Furthermore, he mentions a scene in the movie suggested by Mahesh Bhatt, inspired by a real-life incident, which added a wicked sense of humour to the overall movie.

Aishwarya Rai and Aamir Khan once danced to the popular Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge song Tujhe Dekha To Ye Jaana Sanam (DDLJ). Tuesday marked Aamir’s 58th birthday. On Tuesday, Instagram user Bollywoodirect posted an old video of the two actors dancing to the song that was originally performed by Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. The song was written by Jatin-Lalit, and Lata Mangeshkar and Kumar Sanu sang the lead vocals.

Aishwarya was depicted in the nostalgia video wearing a pink shirt, skirt, and dupatta on her head. T-shirt, blue blazer, and black jeans were all that Aamir Khan had on. On stage, the duo played the song. The specifics of the incident are unknown, though. Interestingly, the two actors haven’t appeared in a film together.

Bollywoodirect captioned the clip after sharing the video, “The 14th of March is Aamir Khan’s birthday. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aamir Khan dance in Tujhe Dekha To Ye Jaana Sanam. #SRK #ShahRukhKhan #AamirKhan.” A viewer’s response to the video was, “The crossover we didn’t see coming.” “Hope to see both of them onscreen in the near future,” someone said.

Last seen by viewers with Kareena Kapoor in the family comedy Laal Singh Chaddha. The movie, directed by Advait Chandan, did not perform well at the box office. Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh also starred in the movie. Aamir is currently taking a film hiatus. He announced the break a few months ago, claiming that he wanted to spend more time with his loved ones.

Aishwarya most recently appeared in Ponniyin Selvan 1, the epic historical action drama film from filmmaker Mani Ratnam that received overwhelmingly positive reviews. The movie also featured Trisha Krishnan, Karthik Sivakumar, and Jayam Ravi in the key roles in addition to Aishwarya. On September 30 of last year, Ponniyin Selvan was released.

She will soon be seen with Rajinikanth, Ramya Krishnan, Priyanka Arul Mohan, and Shiva Rajkumar in the movie Jailer. The movie has yet to have its official release date announced. Later this year, Aishwarya will appear in Ponniyin Selvan 2.

Aamir plays the part of Rohit, an aspiring singer, in the movie, and Manisha plays Kiran, a driven classical vocalist-in-training. After facing criticism from her family, they decide to live separate lives after being married.

Mann (1999), a love drama movie written and directed by Indra Kumar, also has Aamir and Manisha in it. In addition to Rani Mukerji, the movie also stars Anil Kapoor, Sharmila Tagore, and Neeraj Vora.

Laal Singh Chaddha was Aamir’s final movie for fans. The actor declared that he will then take a vacation from acting. Aamir had stated, “I feel as though I have been working for 35 years and have been single-mindedly focused on my work,” at a gathering in Delhi in November 2022. Those close to me don’t seem to be treated fairly, in my opinion. I feel like I need to take a break now to be with them and genuinely live a new kind of life.
