Junaid Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, is gearing up for his big-screen debut in Loveyapa, a romantic-comedy co-starring Khushi Kapoor. After making his acting debut in the OTT film Maharaj, Junaid is now stepping into mainstream cinema with this much-anticipated project.

Despite staying away from social media, Junaid acknowledges that his family background plays a crucial role in securing opportunities in the industry. Speaking to Radio Nasha, he admitted, “That is also a privilege. Producers will cast me even without seeing any public presence. Not many actors have that. It’s purely because of the family I come from.”

Joining him in the conversation, his co-star Khushi Kapoor—daughter of filmmaker Boney Kapoor and the late actress Sridevi—also recognized her privileged position. “I have a lot to be thankful for. I don’t want to be in a position to complain about anything. I am happy where I am,” said The Archies actress.

Directed by Advait Chandan, Loveyapa is a remake of the 2022 Tamil hit Love Today. The film also features Ashutosh Rana, Kiku Sharda, and others. Set for release on February 7, 2025, the film is expected to bring fresh energy to Bollywood’s romantic-comedy genre.

When asked if she planned to follow in her mother’s footsteps, Khushi was clear in her response. She stated that she preferred to carve her own path, saying, “I wouldn’t want to. I think I’m kind of finding myself as I go, and I don’t think following someone else would make that any easier.” She emphasized that she is still learning and evolving as an actor.

Meanwhile, Khushi and Junaid are actively promoting Loveyapa, which features a talented ensemble cast, including Grusha Kapoor, Ashutosh Rana, Kiku Sharda, and more. The film’s soundtrack has already created buzz, with songs like Loveyapa Ho Gaya, offering a glimpse into the lead pair’s relationship, and Rehna Kol, a romantic melody showcasing their on-screen chemistry.

Presented by AGS Entertainment and Phantom Studios, Loveyapa is directed by Advait Chandan and is set to hit theaters on February 7, 2025, perfectly timed for Valentine’s week.

Directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra, known for “Hichki,” and written by Vipul Mehta and Sneha Desai, “Maharaj” presents an engaging David vs. Goliath narrative inspired by true events. The story unfolds in the 1800s and revolves around a journalist who confronts a revered figure in society, often regarded as a savior by the masses. Junaid portrays the journalist’s role, while Jaideep Ahlawat takes on the primary antagonist. Details about the characters played by Sharvari and Shalini Pandey are being kept confidential for now. In the latest interview, Khan shared some information about the upcoming project and the reasons why the audience loves their chemistry so much. The upcoming drama is set to be released in September.

 “My character is a journalist — the kind that writes blogs and is very active on social media. Basically, he has the fire to change the system and eliminate corruption from [it]. He tries to highlight the wrongs in society,” Junaid said.

It should be noted that the couple has acted together in dramas like Dil-e-Beqarar, Madiha Maliha, and Zara Aur Mehrunnisa.

Pasha and Junaid Khan were last seen in the movie Kahay Dil Jidhar. The audience had responded favourably to the movie.
