Pakistani internet personality Chahat Fateh Ali Khan has announced legal action against television host Mathira following her allegations of harassment during his appearance on her show.

The controversy arose after a widely circulated Instagram video showed Khan moving closer to Mathira while singing his song Bado Badi. The clip also captured him placing his arm around her and holding her arm repeatedly, despite her visible discomfort.

In a video titled Mathira Breaks Silence on Harassment by Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, the host expressed her unease, stating, “I was very uncomfortable because I don’t do this, I don’t hug people.” She also claimed that the footage was recorded without permission, adding, “Filming from the back was not allowed on my set.”

Responding on Instagram, Chahat denied the allegations, asserting that Mathira had invited him to boost her show’s ratings. He also claimed that she had “put her arm around [his] waist” during a post-show photo session. Defending himself, he said, “Your own worker, one of the cameramen, recorded the video, and I got it from them.”

He concluded by threatening legal action: “I have spoken to my lawyers… I will take you to court. I did not harass you.” Mathira has yet to respond publicly.

Host and model Mathira has voiced her frustration over an inappropriate video shared by comedian-singer Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, stating that despite being asked to delete the footage, he has yet to remove it from his social media accounts.

Chahat Fateh Ali Khan recently appeared as a guest on Mathira’s show. Following the appearance, he shared a video on Instagram that quickly went viral. In the clip, Chahat can be seen attempting to hug Mathira and shake her hand, making her visibly uncomfortable as she tries to maintain her distance.

Addressing the matter on her show, Mathira strongly condemned the act and clarified that the video was recorded without her consent. “Whenever a guest comes on my show, I treat them with respect, love, and kindness. But recording a video in this manner was unacceptable. Being bold doesn’t mean anyone has the right to hug or invade someone’s personal space,” she stated.

Mathira further elaborated, “I was feeling very uncomfortable. This video was not recorded by our cameras but was secretly filmed by Chahat Fateh without permission. Neither I nor my team knew this was being filmed. The cameras for the show are positioned elsewhere, but this was filmed from a completely different angle, which is not allowed.”

The host expressed her distress over the incident, emphasizing, “I do not usually hug people.” She also revealed that despite being requested to delete the video, Chahat refused to comply or issue an apology.

“This behavior is unacceptable. I was ready to leave the set, and my car was parked outside when this video was filmed. Afterward, I left the set immediately,” she added.

Mathira’s strong response to the situation has sparked discussions about personal boundaries and respect in the entertainment industry.
