Rani Mukerji Reflects On Weekly Ritual She Follows With Aditya Chopra

Rani Mukerji, a prominent Indian actress renowned for her diverse roles spanning over three decades, has showcased her versatility through numerous films. From her debut in “Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat” in 1996 to her recent work in “Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway” in 2023, her career trajectory has been marked by more successes than failures.

In a recent interview, the actress of “Bunty Aur Babli 2” discussed her relationship with her husband, filmmaker Aditya Chopra, unveiling a weekly tradition they still uphold. Speaking with Film Companion, Rani Mukerji conveyed her fondness for theatrical cinema and her preference for experiencing movies on the big screen rather than through streaming services at home.

During the interview, she disclosed the recurring ritual she shares with Aditya Chopra: “That’s something that we continue to do every Friday.” The couple often watches movies together, attending screenings at the Yash Raj Films studio in Mumbai when in the city. When abroad, they relish the opportunity to watch films in public theaters, holding hands and enjoying each other’s company.

Rani Mukerji added that her husband, a filmmaker himself, still visits Mumbai’s iconic Gaiety Galaxy theatre for movie viewings. After dating for a period, Rani and Aditya Chopra tied the knot in a private Bengali ceremony in Italy in 2014. Their daughter, Adira, was born the following year. Rani also shared a personal experience, revealing that she had a miscarriage in 2020 while five months into her second pregnancy.

In her most recent film, “Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway,” a legal drama directed by Ashima Chibber, Rani portrayed a significant role. The film, also starring Anirban Bhattacharya, Neena Gupta, and Jim Sarbh, draws inspiration from the real-life story of an Indian couple whose children were taken into custody by Norwegian authorities in 2011. Rani expressed that she is not presently engaged in any new projects.

However, she expressed her interest in reprising her role for “Mardaani 3” during an interview: “Yes, I would actually love to get back and wear Shivani Shivaji Roy’s shoes. But it all depends on the scripting and the story and if we do get a very interesting story to go with the third installment, I think it will be fascinating to come back as Shivani Shivaji Roy because even I do enjoy playing the role of a lot.”

Abhishek Bachchan Reflects On Future ‘Dhoom 4’ Project

Abhishek Bachchan recently shared his thoughts on the potential for a Dhoom 4 film in an interview.

During the interview, Abhishek expressed his desire to return to the action genre after exploring experimental roles in films like Dasvi and Bob Biswas. He also discussed the prospects of another instalment in the Dhoom series. Speaking openly, the Housefull 3 actor stated to India Today: “I would love [to do an action film]. It just so happened, the last two years were so busy. I have made like 5-6 movies in the last two years.”

When asked about the possibility of Dhoom 4, Abhishek disclosed that he hasn’t heard any plans for it so far. He mentioned that if Aditya Chopra, the film’s producer, had intentions for such a project, he would have informed him. The actor maintained a neutral stance, neither confirming nor dismissing the possibility of the new film.

“I don’t have any information about it. If ‘Dhoom 4’ was being made, Adi [Chopra] would have told us. I can’t confirm or deny it but I am pretty sure I would have been told if he is making one,” he remarked.

At the beginning of 2023, after the success of Pathaan, rumours circulated that Yash Raj Films was considering reviving the Dhoom franchise, with Akshay Kumar in the lead role and John Abraham as the antagonist. However, YRF dismissed these rumours, according to sources.

With Abhishek Bachchan’s statement, it becomes evident that there are no immediate plans for such a project.

Mumbai welcomed back Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, and their son AbRam as they returned from their family vacation in the US. Prior to their US trip, the couple had also enjoyed a holiday in London. During their time in the UK capital, a number of Bollywood celebrities, including Karan Johar, Rani Mukerji, Farhan Akhtar, Shibani Dandekar, and others, were also spotted vacationing there. Now, a viral picture from London has surfaced on social media, featuring SRK, Gauri, Karan, Rani, Aditya Chopra, and more.

The picture, which was shared by a fan on Reddit, captures the group relaxing at London’s Hyde Park, a popular spot for celebrities. In the image, they can be seen engaged in conversation while Shah Rukh stands in the background, partially obscured. The actor is dressed in an all-black outfit, with his face covered by a black mask. Though the photo is slightly blurry, it was a delightful moment for the fan who managed to capture this candid shot.

After the picture was shared online, it quickly garnered reactions from fans and admirers. One user expressed excitement at seeing the original trio of SRK, KJo, and Aditya Chopra still spending time together. Another user couldn’t contain their enthusiasm, writing, “This is so crazy! Meanwhile, recent reports by The Times of India claimed that Shah Rukh had sustained an injury during his time in the US and underwent a minor nose surgery. However, these claims were later debunked by a close source to the actor, who informed Hindustan Times that SRK was in good health and the injury reports were false. Upon his arrival at Mumbai airport, no visible signs of injury were observed on the actor’s face, much to the relief of his fans. Shah Rukh returned to Mumbai ahead of the trailer release for his upcoming film, “Jawan,” directed by Atlee, which is scheduled to hit theaters on September 7.

As the Bollywood superstar continues to make headlines with his personal and professional endeavors, fans eagerly anticipate his return to the big screen, excited to witness his charismatic presence once again.

Aishwarya Rai and Aamir Khan once danced to the popular Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge song Tujhe Dekha To Ye Jaana Sanam (DDLJ). Tuesday marked Aamir’s 58th birthday. On Tuesday, Instagram user Bollywoodirect posted an old video of the two actors dancing to the song that was originally performed by Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. The song was written by Jatin-Lalit, and Lata Mangeshkar and Kumar Sanu sang the lead vocals.

Aishwarya was depicted in the nostalgia video wearing a pink shirt, skirt, and dupatta on her head. T-shirt, blue blazer, and black jeans were all that Aamir Khan had on. On stage, the duo played the song. The specifics of the incident are unknown, though. Interestingly, the two actors haven’t appeared in a film together.

Bollywoodirect captioned the clip after sharing the video, “The 14th of March is Aamir Khan’s birthday. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aamir Khan dance in Tujhe Dekha To Ye Jaana Sanam. #SRK #ShahRukhKhan #AamirKhan.” A viewer’s response to the video was, “The crossover we didn’t see coming.” “Hope to see both of them onscreen in the near future,” someone said.

Aditya Chopra wrote the screenplay and directed the 1995 musical romance Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, which was also produced by his father Yash Chopra. In addition to Amrish Puri, Farida Jalal, Satish Shah, Himani Shivpuri, Anupam Kher, and Mandira Bedi, the movie was released in October 1995.

Last seen by viewers with Kareena Kapoor in the family comedy Laal Singh Chaddha. The movie, directed by Advait Chandan, did not perform well at the box office. Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh also starred in the movie. Aamir is currently taking a film hiatus. He announced the break a few months ago, claiming that he wanted to spend more time with his loved ones.

Aishwarya most recently appeared in Ponniyin Selvan 1, the epic historical action drama film from filmmaker Mani Ratnam that received overwhelmingly positive reviews. The movie also featured Trisha Krishnan, Karthik Sivakumar, and Jayam Ravi in the key roles in addition to Aishwarya. On September 30 of last year, Ponniyin Selvan was released.

She will soon be seen with Rajinikanth, Ramya Krishnan, Priyanka Arul Mohan, and Shiva Rajkumar in the movie Jailer. The movie has yet to have its official release date announced. Later this year, Aishwarya will appear in Ponniyin Selvan 2.

Aditya Chopra made a rare appearance in Netflix’s new docuseries The Romantics. His views on nepotism and how even his massive film company, Yash Raj Films, was unable to make his brother Uday Chopra a star have earned him plaudits from moviegoers. Many people have praised the filmmaker for his candid views on the subject.

In The Romantics, Aditya Chopra discussed nepotism and why Uday Chopra struggled in his acting career. “My brother is an actor, and he’s not a very successful actor,” he explained. Now, here is the son of a major filmmaker, as well as the brother of a major filmmaker. Consider YRF, which has probably launched the most newcomers, and how we could not make him a star. Why couldn’t we do it for ourselves? Because the bottom line is, only an audience will decide, ‘I like this person, I want to see this person’. Nobody else can make that decision.”

The Romantics director Smriti Mundhra explained how she convinced camera-shy producer Aditya Chopra to participate in the Netflix docuseries. In a recent interview, Smriti claimed that convincing Aditya took a lot of time and was “a gradual one.”

Smriti added that she was speaking to him about the “background to obtain the perspective on the story” after beginning the project. In order to comprehend “all of the aspects of the story,” the director added that she needed to be sure she was speaking with the appropriate people.

“I attempted to persuade him that while my crew and I were in Mumbai, we’ll record an interview for his personal archive,” Smriti stated in an interview with DNA India. Of fact, I was sort of acting with a hidden agenda. To that, he consented. I secretly began adding him to the series as we were editing it in the hopes that he would agree when I eventually presented it to him. It was a risk since I had put a lot of work into editing, and I would have had to redo the entire series if he had said no. The expectation was that he would consent once he realized how essential his role was to this narrative.

“Anyone who has worked with Aditya Chopra in any capacity will tell you that he has the uttermost fidelity to the artistic integrity of any production,” she continued. He won’t let the creative integrity of any endeavor be compromised. Therefore, it definitely helped when he realized how crucial it was for him to be a part of this and how empty the series would feel without his perspective.

Smriti claims that “recognizing that we worked so hard to build this memorial to his father, Yash Chopra, where so many people from their hearts about his legacy” was what actually made the biggest impact. Aditya not taking part would be “quite weird,” she continued. According to Smriti, it was because of this “love and respect for his father” that he ultimately decided to join The Romantics.

The Romantics, directed by Smriti, honors Yash Chopra’s history as a director. It includes 35 prominent voices from the Hindi film business and explores Bollywood’s history through the prism of Yash Raj Films’ role in popularizing Bollywood over the past 50 years. The show’s streaming service launched on February 14.

Fighter will include Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan. On January 25, 2024, the movie is slated for release.
