Shah Rukh Khan shares his last meeting with Yash Chopra

In the four-part documentary The Romantics, Shah Rukh Khan related the details of his final encounter with Yash Chopra.

In his final days, Chopra was working with Khan on the movie Jab Tak Hai Jaan, according to Khan. “He (Yash Chopra) became very emotional after the last shot of Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Then he started crying. He said this could be our last shot. I was like why last shot? Then he said, No there’s no more shots left of you.”

The actor of Veer-Zara claimed that the great director and he had their final encounter at a gathering. “Yash Ji was shivering as I went to hug him. He was feverish. Mujhe bukhaar ho raha hai, he said. I had travelled from a shoot to the event. I ate my meal and everything else. The performer said, “And the next evening we lost him.”

The YRF employee is heard stating in the episode. “I told Shah Rukh that I lost my father. Unhone kaha aap akele nahi hai. Maine bhi apna pita khoya hai. So he also looked at him like his father figure.”

In a number of movies, including Veer-Zara, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Darr, and Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Shah Rukh Khan has collaborated with Yash Chopra, also known as the father of romance. His final film, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, also starred Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.

Aditya was tricked into joining the series by The Romantics director Smriti Mundhra

Smriti Mundhra successfully convinced Aditya Chopra to be part of The Romantics.
Smriti said that it took a long time to convince Aditya calling the process ‘a slow one’.
She was speaking to him on ‘background to get the context on the story’.

The Romantics director Smriti Mundhra explained how she convinced camera-shy producer Aditya Chopra to participate in the Netflix docuseries. In a recent interview, Smriti claimed that convincing Aditya took a lot of time and was “a gradual one.”

Smriti added that she was speaking to him about the “background to obtain the perspective on the story” after beginning the project. In order to comprehend “all of the aspects of the story,” the director added that she needed to be sure she was speaking with the appropriate people.

“I attempted to persuade him that while my crew and I were in Mumbai, we’ll record an interview for his personal archive,” Smriti stated in an interview with DNA India. Of fact, I was sort of acting with a hidden agenda. To that, he consented. I secretly began adding him to the series as we were editing it in the hopes that he would agree when I eventually presented it to him. It was a risk since I had put a lot of work into editing, and I would have had to redo the entire series if he had said no. The expectation was that he would consent once he realized how essential his role was to this narrative.

“Anyone who has worked with Aditya Chopra in any capacity will tell you that he has the uttermost fidelity to the artistic integrity of any production,” she continued. He won’t let the creative integrity of any endeavor be compromised. Therefore, it definitely helped when he realized how crucial it was for him to be a part of this and how empty the series would feel without his perspective.

Smriti claims that “recognizing that we worked so hard to build this memorial to his father, Yash Chopra, where so many people from their hearts about his legacy” was what actually made the biggest impact. Aditya not taking part would be “quite weird,” she continued. According to Smriti, it was because of this “love and respect for his father” that he ultimately decided to join The Romantics.

The Romantics, directed by Smriti, honors Yash Chopra’s history as a director. It includes 35 prominent voices from the Hindi film business and explores Bollywood’s history through the prism of Yash Raj Films’ role in popularizing Bollywood over the past 50 years. The show’s streaming service launched on February 14.

The teaser for The Romantics docuseries, a collaboration between Yash Raj Films and Netflix, has been released; Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and others discuss Yash Chopra.

The four-part documentary’s trailer gives viewers a glimpse of three generations of performers who have played key roles in Yash Chopra’s movies.

Amitabh, Shah Rukh, Salman, Salim Khan, Karan Johar, Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Kajol, Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Ranveer Singh, Bhumi Pednekar, Madhuri Dixit, and numerous other actors and actresses can be seen in the trailer.

All of the aforementioned actors discuss the late Yash Chopra from their perspectives and discuss both his professional and personal attributes.
