As the world is fighting against coronavirus, many around the world have lost their precious lives because of it, including Sarah Khan’s father.

“We were unable to visit them because of the corona pandemic, my father has recently died of corona that’s why we are trying not to interact with the elderly. Young people can survive coronavirus but it is very difficult for old aged people to recover from the virus because it attacks them differently.”

She revealed that her husband Falak Shabir and other family members were also tested COVID-19 positive when her father breathed his last.

“We caught coronavirus from our father. I, my husband Falak, my sibling, were all corona positive when my father died. All of us had different symptoms. I think it reacts differently to everyone’s body. People don’t take it seriously until they go through it.”

As per the sources, the price of diesel will likely increase by Rs4.30, while OGRA has also suggested an increase in the price of petrol and kerosene.

However, OGRA has proposed to maintain the price of light diesel, said the sources.

The notification said that the sales tax rate on kerosene has been reduced from 17% to 15.44% while the sales tax rate on light diesel has been reduced from 17% to 7.56%.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had decided that the price of petroleum products would not be increased. The OGRA summary recommended an increase of Rs. 5 to 10.

The Prime Minister rejected it and decided to maintain the April 16 prices.

According to the notification issued by the Finance Ministry, the price of petrol has been fixed at Rs 108.56 per liter, high-speed diesel at Rs 110.76 per liter, kerosene at Rs 80 per liter, and light diesel at Rs 77.65 per liter.

PDM unsuccessfully trying to move the clock backwards: Shibli Faraz

AJK Elections 2021 Shibli Faraz

Minister for Science and Technology Senator Shibli Faraz has on Sunday said that the Opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) is trying to move the clock backwards.

These remarks by Shibli Faraz came after the PDM has asked the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to gather a meeting of the country’s political parties to seek a “consensus package” that should then be presented before parliament for approval.

In his tweet today, the Minister wrote, “Proponents of democracy in practice undermining parliament. PDM is out of touch with the new realities and unsuccessfully trying to move the clock backwards. Government reiterates its offer to discuss electoral reforms in the parliament to have free fair and transparent elections.”

PDM president Maulana Fazlur Rehman during a media briefing on Saturday said, “The PDM has rejected the one-sided electoral reforms package, including the ordinance promulgated by the government to secure EVMs. The PDM has expressed its reservations (over the move) and declared it a pre-poll rigging plan.”

PML-N president and Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif preferred to remain silent throughout the news conference.

“We demand that the ECP, which is constitutionally responsible for holding free and transparent elections, should convene a meeting of all political parties and present a package with national consensus so that it can be presented before the parliament,” said Fazl Maulana.

Earlier, Maulana Fazlur Rehman had said that the PDM would protest outside the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Criticizing the PTI government, he had said that it had opened the door to corruption and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) did not notice it.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the government itself are receiving money from Israel and India, and they are questioning our patriotism.

He said that PDM will hold a demonstration in front of the Election Commission office on January 19 in Islamabad.

Fazl had further said that on January 21 in Karachi, PDM will hold March in support of not recognizing Israel.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman had demanded the government resignation and said that people will sink the boat of this incompetent government.

He said that conspiracies were being hatched against the constitution and the rights of the provinces while the economy in Peshawar was destroyed like BRT.

The PDM Chief had said that there was no peace in Islamabad today and lawlessness in this government had increased to such an extent that shots were fired at the young boy in broad daylight.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that we do not believe in the politics of blood but we want to make you feel your responsibility.

“Bilawal Bhutto Does Not Need To Apologize Anyone”: Palwasha Khan

Palwasha Khan

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Palwasha Khan has said that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) was a kind of coalition.

Speaking to host Jameel Farooqui in BOL News’ program National Debate, Palwasha Khan said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has always tried to wall off PPP and ANP.

She further questioned, Does PDM aim to bring down the government or to bring down PPP?

Palwasha further added that with all these tactics, only the incumbent government will have benefits.

“Every government has to give an account of its 5-year performance,” she said adding, “Bilawal Bhutto and PPP actually formed the PDM.”

“PPP did not express withdrawal in PDM,” she added.

The PPP leader went on to add that these people should end the politics of pushing down the ANP.

“They have to point out the differences and lacks within the PML-N,” said Palwasha.

She added that these people have joined hands together, PPP has nothing to do with them.

Referring to the showcase notice served to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, Khan added that Bilawal does not need to apologize anyone.

Earlier, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari reportedly tore apart the show-cause notice issued to it by the PDM in a clear message to the alliance that the future relied entirely on mutual respect.

The PDM already suffered a blow when the Awami National Party (ANP) quit over its hijacking by some member parties.

On the other hand, PDM Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman had expressed displeasure over Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) political behaviour and said that they ‘must admit their mistake.’

It is worth mentioning here that the Awami National Party (ANP) was the first party to left the anti-government alliance, followed by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) that also announced to resign from all posts of the opposition alliance in protest against the issuance of show-cause notices.

Awami National Party (ANP) Parts Ways From PDM

PML-N and JUI-F were irked after the Awami National Party (ANP) had announced its separation from the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).

The JUI-F and PML-N leaders reacted to the separation of ANP from PDM terming it “the most humiliating move in political history”.

JUI-F’s secretary-general Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri over the move said, “ANP and PPP’s actions have led to the world laughing at us.”

“Despite all this, we went and spoke to ANP’s leadership and they said the move was made based on friendly ties,” he added.

Haideri warned ANP it had made a “blatant” mistake after blaming PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for lacking leadership.

“ANP should not have blamed Fazlur Rehman,” Haideri said.
